  1. Is this to mean that you don't like the 4 guys on the DL right now or that you're upset that Walters hasn't replaced the three guys left over from Mack? Same with LBs are you not happy with the guys you have? It's a different defense than what they ran when LaPolice was in charge, more of a 4-2 front with a hybrid of Dime defense with Randle playing as a rover at times. I don't mean to single out just you 17to85 but would like to know what parts of the roster folks don't like here. You'd think it'd be happier around here with the Bombers holding down first place in the West, having a 1-0 record in the division and beat Saskatchewan once already this year. Plus you could still have this roster - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Winnipeg_Blue_Bombers_season#Roster I don't like it when Peach is the best player on the defensive line and I've said that for a long time. He's a depth guy but if he's your best you are in trouble. So yes I expect a CFL GM should be able to find an end that is better than Peach. Walters hasn't done that yet. The tackles are struggling this year too, if they're not playing well why don't we have someone who can step in and up the play of the line? The linebackers have been lacking as well. We lost Ian Wild in the offseason and he has not been even close to replaced. I'm thrilled that they are 2-1 on the year, absolutely pleased, but when your defense is struggling as much as the Bombers is this year you are playing with fire. I suspect many decent LB's were flushed away during TC because they had already decided prior to camp that Hurl was going to be their MLB. They could have at least stashed one of those guys on the PR.
  2. Anyone that thinks that the Bombers were going to walk all over the Als needs to have their head de-rocked. Be happy they played a clean game turn-over-wise and came out with two. Onward to the next battle ground.
  3. I don't fault Willy for not throwing a pass when he can't even get his eyes upfield before he's being tackled. Rather take the loss of yards than have the ball going back the other way, even if it takes us out of FG range. Yea I dunno if it just takes a bit for Picard to gell with Chungh and Greaves but the interior is getting mauled. I'm impressed that willy hasn't been sacked more already, tbh. Picard getting flagged for holding might become even more common place then before.. Willy has to make a permanent habit of getting the ball away quickly, I believe that's the only way he is going to remain healthy. He needs to sit down and study film on Ricky Ray and Kevin Glenn and transform his QB skills to match the reality of the CFL game.
  4. Encouraging thing in their game against Sask. is BC did not look very good and didn't really deserve the win. If it weren't for Chamblin's coaching gaffes no doubt they would have lost. Terribly undisciplined team penalty wise and their D seemed to be vulnerable to the long passing game. I believe Tedford is going to be under .500 in his first year.
  5. Yah, but I'm totally certain that Unamba would have also recovered the ball in the end-zone and kicked the convert too.
  6. who was criticizing this move? I know I liked it. Maybe criticizing was a bit strong (for people who post here) but there were a number who didn't like signing him. I think a few of the rabble-rousers at TEP were more vocal in their displeasure. Agreed the only former Argos worth picking up so far has been JFG the others have been busts ( Romby B,. EJ etc ) ... Well, I have certainly thought about criticizing the addition of Shell. Does that count? Positives. -Kudos for the blocked punt, that is the first play he has made in 3 games that his name has been mentioned. -I suppose Shell was brought in for his versatility as a backup and his true value should show once they have an injury in the secondary. If O'Shea chooses to use a different player to fill in I will be somewhat confused. Negatives. -Shell may be a decent ST player but UNAMBA WAS TOP NUMBER ONE ST PLAYER OF ALL LAST YEAR TOTAL BEST!!! -Like Sears, Unamba made an impact every game, no matter where they played him, he was "in on it". -Bombers made room for Shell originally on the PR by cutting Malachi Freeman, a good young prospect. -Latest member of the Mike O'Shea "F*** You, I Like Him Club". Notable past and present members include Willy, Kuale, Bryant, Peach and Hurl. No competition required to join this exclusive club, it's an anointment thing. -Worst of all I have 5 pairs of custom fit Don Unamba pyjamas that are growing stale in my weekly garage sale that I can't sell for love nor money.
  7. who was criticizing this move? I know I liked it. I don't recall anyone criticizing it. Edit: wrong thread!
  8. Here is Chamblin post-game, he now has a look of fear in his eyes. http://www.riderville.com/video
  9. He just wrecked that guys knee, lucky it wasn't Harris.
  10. Jackson punishes himself with an obvious helmet to helmet tackle.
  11. Tedford's got to kick some ass, stupid penalties are going to cost BC this game.
  12. Bloody stupid that they can't set up a goal line camera that gives them the proper angle.
  13. Another positive, seemingly escaped with no major injuries.
  14. You can watch for the Sask. receivers to do as much holding as they do blocking on those plays.
  15. Lulay is back. He doesn't have the big arm but he can do a lot of damage with short to medium throws, his vision, brain and mobility.
  16. Another positive, escaped with no major injuries as far as I can tell.
  17. Other than that major gaff I thought the refs. did a decent job tonight. It wasn't a flagfest like other games have been so it seems as if the players are starting to play to the rule changes.
  18. I think the game against Edm. is going to be much the same as this battle. Hope they can eek out 2 pts. because I don't think they will be able to beat Cgy.
  19. They found a way to win and played tough when necessary. D-line has to get more pressure though.
  20. Hard fought victory against a strong D. I'll take it.
  21. The previous 2 games have miraculously showed up on YouTube but it usually takes a couple of days and someone very kindly to take the time to post it. Other than that yer hooped. Not true. TSN has all of their previous live games online the next day here. This is your best bet. http://www.tsn.ca/video/on-demand Right, but for many those re-broadcasts are locked.
  22. You wouldn't have to make it a policy. They are already working the food lines at homeless shelters here. What you should do is make it a policy that all NDP-voting dope-smoking welfare sucking able-bodied men over the age of 18 should get off their lazy arses and go work at homeless shelters. I've got two neighbours I would love to see on a food line helping out the homeless, instead of staring at a video-game screen all day in mommy's basement with a bong glued to their face. Don't be ridiculous. There are plenty of dope-smoking able-bodied men that aren't on welfare. of course there are. They just don't happen to live near me I guess. But if you just want to target "right wing curmudgeons" for work on homeless shelter food lines, why not also target lazy sacks who are able-bodied and just sitting at home self-medicating too? I think the more pertinent question is whether being right wing makes you a curmudgeon, or if being a curmudgeon naturally leads to being right wing? Left or right, evolving into a curmudgeon is a natural destination for any man that's been married to an old bag for too long.

  24. sounds like you would have made a good candidate for the NDP in the last provincial election in Alberta. Except for the part about making $67/hr. My brother in law was complaining to me that his MLA is now a 24 year old kid who worked at Starbucks and lived in his mom's basement. He didn't have a driver's licence either so mom had to drive him to work and around the riding to campaign. He's going from $11/hr to $140K a year in salary. Gotta love politics. sounds like you would have made a good candidate for the NDP in the last provincial election in Alberta. Except for the part about making $67/hr. Funny you should mention that KBF. Being well qualified, I was just thinking about running NDP in Kelowna. First policy will be to assign all right wing curmudgeons to working the food line at the local homeless shelter. Warning: It is against policy to throw the food at the clients!
