Once he had a few years as the head coach things started to fall apart, granted there were some injuries etc. But I don't think Benevidez will be a head coach again any time soon. In fairness to Benevidez, he had a declining Wally lording over him and making all of the personnel decisions. i said the same thing.. Launched himself with his head down, deliberate attempt to spear with helmet.. The fact he launched directly into JFG's helmet is just further intent to injure. That play happens every week in almost every game. DB's using their helmets as weapons trying to intimidate receivers and RB's. The officials rarely call a penalty unless the victim is a QB. Yea, whatever happened to form tackling. And it's not just DB's, it happens at every position. Coaching my 11 year old son and his teammates chest plate tackling with faces/chest up, ready position, buzz the feet, rips and wraps sends mixed messages when he sees what happens at this level as the up and coming CFL fan that he is. The reality is that the injury that took Willy out of the lineup for multiple games was going to happen sooner or later. So the idea of Willy staying healthy and keeping the Bombers competitive for an entire year is just a fantasy.

I think Austin is making a big mistake by not trading for Glenn as quickly as possible. With the team strength of the Cats, Glenn gives them a passable opportunity to advance to the Grey Cup if they work him in now rather than later. It may take a couple of more losses before Austin sees that reality with his current QB's. Glenn can't carry the team but if he can put enough points up on on the board as he has with Sask. the Ti-Cat D can certainly hold opponents down long enough to win games. Why would Sask. deal Glenn? I doubt it would go very far to fixing their issues and it would be a step back on offence (though Smith was progressing fairly well). Get something while they can and the more desperate the situation the more they can ask for Glenn. Without a permanent GM or Coach, Sask. is obviously going into a rebuilding mode and I wouldn't expect that a 37 y.o. QB would be a part of those plans next year, so it's unlikely they will get anything for him if they wait till seasons end.

Not really, you need to review the film. Their best game was the first game against Sask. since then they've been mediocre to awful.

The turf they use now with the rubber pellets is much, much better than the Tartan or Astro Turf that was used up until maybe a decade ago when this new technology came out. In the days of natural grass field vs artificial turf there was more forgiveness with natural turf. On natural grass,when a player cut his cleats didn't just stop because the traction was so good with artificial turf, it may have slipped slightly from momentum on natural grassthus allowing less force to be applied to knee & ankle joints than today when tackled so there was more forgiveness on a players joints. So,back in the day the injuries weren't as frequent. Proof of that is the fact teams played 16 regular game seasons with a month of training camp & four pre season games with a 32 man roster & 4 man taxi squad. teams would have injuries but not to the extent it destroyed the roster although depth was always an issue. Just as likely improvement in foot gear could be contributing to the rise in injuries, players plant their foot and there is not enough give.

Mike Willie only got half a game to show his stuff before returning to the PR, how much time will this guy get? It would be more beneficial at this point to have Darvin Adams and Stoudermire sit out the next game so that the receiving crew gets the message that poor performance is punishable.
