  1. Smith or Randle if we absolutely have to, those 2 areas are strengths. Not having a adequate backup Qb is spelling disaster in this league. You just have to look at how many teams have already had to use their backups this year to realize this is a no brainer. In the CFL it's all about the QB. ..
  2. No this is the type of guy who can really burn you on a long term deal.Already questions about Trouba's level of commitment and off ice activities. Only sign him long term if we get a good discount or trade him imo.
  3. If that's the case then we don't need him .You always give it your best no matter what.....
  4. Not my point,my point was the need to have an experienced international olineman instead of Couture. We made it through so it's moot now anyway.?
  5. What team beside the Blue is starting 3 international olinemen? Fact is we have only 1 raw rookie as backup every situation is different but if we have to put Couture in and wreck his confidence what then? There is many factors in this decision it's not clear cut at all...
  6. Your kind of missing the point 1 backup with little experience in the CFL and one tackle making his first start how many games have we gone this year not losing at least 1 olineman?
  7. Yes I see your point but keeping Nichols upright should be our no 1 priority and not hurting Couture by throwing him to the wolves too early. So yes get an American olineman as insurance we have depth at lb none really right now on the oline. TO is dressing 8...
  8. Thomas is an emergency backup playing out of postion ,if we lose 2 tackles you comfortable putting him or Couture there? I remember Calgary losing 3 linemen last year in a game it's rare but does happen. It's a roll of the dice.....
  9. Going in with only one oline backup seems risky to me esp since Courture is a raw rookie .....
  10. To be honest I really soured on Trouba last year and if we can get a good young defenseman in return let him go. He keeps holding out for 6 million per year let some other team take him and his over inflated ego.
  11. Yeah well I'm one of those perhaps MOS has learned under fire so to speak and has grown into his HC job. Still a stubborn SOB but then again so was Cal Murphy . They gotta make the playoffs though....
  12. But the difference was we actually took advantage of the field position.Good teams do that. I'm usually very critical of the Blue but in my mind they dominated and stuck it to hammy where in the past we might of only come out with Fgs. That's 2 games against Hammy that the turnovers were slanted heavily in our favor good reason for it.We are the better team. With Collaros in though we will have to wait and see.☺ If MOS gets us in the playoffs I think yes he gets an extension for sure.
  13. I agree but I was worried with the game outta reach that the Ticats were just gonna t up on Nichols, they kinda have that history....
  14. Wishful thinking unless we could get Popp here as a head scout? ? I jest I jest all is good in Bomber land when we win and I couldn't be happier about it.
  15. Great synopsis as usual DoD thnks. My only complaint was not seeing Davis or Willy later on, was kinda worried Nichols don't get hurt lol..
  16. Yea you wouldn't want a GM that has actually won some Grey cups? Yeah the only player that won those Grey cups ?
  17. Yea you wouldn't want a GM that has actually won some Grey cups?
  18. I'd demote Walters to assistant GM give him a few more years of grooming with a good GM.
  19. If Popp was ever cut lose in by the Als I would take him here in a second ,albeit as GM only cause as a coach he sucks.?
  20. No i distinctly remember him getting a chance to return punts and I disagree with your remark about needing him we can use a player with his abilities on offense with all the guys we have out. But that's my opinion and hopefully he gets in this year and changes yours☺
  21. This I would seriously wonder about any player that doesn't jump at playing.Unless Calgary promised him something? And the pay difference is huge doesn't make sense.Even if it is Saskabush?
  22. Yep not ko returns but he did share punt returns in preseason and performed well also his yac yds after catching screens looked like he definitely has great vision. I would like to see him on the field in any capacity.Lots of players have to do different things at the pro level compared to their college days.
  23. Again agree to disagree leave it at that. I aint gonna change your mind you aint gonna change mine?
  24. Lol not sure how many returns our olineman are doing but hopefully your wrong on that point...Flanders did really well in the preseason on returns it was between him and McDuffie, who is not a true rec ethier so there isn't this vast chasm you suggest but let's agree to disagree I'm hoping they get Flanders in there somehow....
  25. Uhh yeah he did do kickoff and punt returns in preseason and I'm sure could fill in for McDuffie who wasn't primarily a rec more a returner. ...
