@CFL_News: Not mentioned in that article but likely coming: no defensive contact on a receiver after 5 yards, and a 35 second clock. #CFL @CFL_News: No contact whatsoever is allowed between WR's and DB's after five yards, meaning no more hand fighting downfield...via @CFLonTSN #CFL

CFL.ca Staff TORONTO -- The convert would be less automatic, receivers would have more space, and the game would speed up. Those are the projected outcomes if rules changes proposed today by the Canadian Football League’s Rules Committee are approved later this Spring by its Board of Governors. “We have sought to be innovative while protecting the integrity of the game with a focus on player safety,” said Glen Johnson, the CFL’s Vice-President of Officiating and its representative on the Rules Committee. “We believe we are recommending to our Board of Governors responsible ways to improve the tempo and flow of the game, reduce the number of stoppages including penalties, increase opportunities for scoring and excitement, and simplify our rules.” The Rules Committee is recommending modifying the convert that follows a touchdown. A kick for a single point, which now comes from the 12-yard line, would come instead from the 32-yard line. Last year, 99.4 per cent of kicks for a single point following a touchdown were successful. For field goal attempts from between 31 and 33 yards, 81 per cent were successful. In fact, there have only been 24 converts missed in 15 seasons, a frequency of just once in every 232 attempts or 47 games. Under the proposal, a kicked convert that is wide would remain live and can be run back for a two-point score. If a team opts to run or pass the ball into the end zone for a two point convert following a touchdown, the ball would be scrimmaged from the three-yard line, instead of the current five-yard line, which may entice more coaches to “go for two”. Last year, there were only 23 two-point convert attempts, and seven, or 30 per cent, were successful.

Bombers trade Cory Watson to Saskatchewan

I wonder if he's the guy we dropped in order to add Jordan Reaves. -
That's why I think it's likely the leak came from the Bombers, to show Willy's agent is being unreasonable. My bet is it came from Walters himself or Darren Cameron.
-
Kyle Walters is quoted in the article so I don't think it was leaked. I highly doubt the contract value the Willy team is looking for came from Walters. It sounds like the reporter is following up with Walters on the leaked information that Willy is looking for a contract that will pay him $400M a year. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the $400k figure came from Walters.

Interesting that Marve will pursue the NFL after this season.

Thanks. Must be a nice kitchen for $13 million.

Not sure I fully understand what this means. Are you saying an additional $13 million was added to the initial cost so that they can add kitchen equipment?

Bombers add Jordan Reaves to neg list
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Except the player they removed from their neg list to add Reaves. But I agree it's a low risk, potential for high reward situation. You are assuming our neg list was full, or didn't contain names that were highly improbable. As MBRG said, each team has it's Tim Tebow's on their list. Someone you stick on their on the off chance they ever end up in the CFL. However, the odds are extremely long against it happening. Reaves name can always be dropped. I sure hope our neg list is full. -

Lawless just said on 1290 that, based on his conversations with Walters, he figures the Bombers keep picks 2 and 11, then use pick 15 and a later pick to try and trade up to 7 or 8th overall to get Demski there.

Last years draft was extremely very weak for OLs so that's going to increase he demand for all teams to re-stock the cupboard.

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

Bombers add Jordan Reaves to neg list

No. He worked out for the Bombers and Eskimos recently. Looks like the Bombers were impressed with what they saw. -
@DarrinBauming: I am told Jordan Reaves, son of former CFL MOP running back Willard Reaves, has been placed on the #Bombers negotiation list. @DarrinBauming: Reaves (6'5" 215lbs) worked out for the #Bombers last week as a receiver, and took part in the CFL's regional combine in Edmonton today. @DarrinBauming: Reaves' measurables from the Edmonton regional #CFLCombine: 40-yard dash: 4.69 Vertical: 35" Broad jump: 10'1" Bench: 19 3-cone: 7.06 @DarrinBauming: @garrettbillan1 He is. Born, raised, and educated right here in Manitoba. A good read: http://www.cklq.com/index.php?id=74&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=7229&cHash=c0cb771b11c9b08c8ce2307fed508482
