  1. Is this last year's list? Sure looks like a lot of returnees.Wrong link - I've corrected it now.I'm shocked...Jacquie made an error? Usually you're the one correcting the mistakes
  2. So what's the plan with the other four NI spots? If we're planning on starting at least one Canadian receiver, likely two, for the foreseeable future, shouldn't we draft one of the two potential ratiochangers?Tough call - but BPA and then picking two OL in the 2nd round might not be a bad idea. My point is that OL is the most important spot on the roster, besides the QB. Who cares how good your 2 Canadian WRs are if you can't keep the QB upright to get them the ball? A good OL keeps the offense moving, which keeps the defense rested and effective. You build a team through the QB and OL. Once we're set on the OL, then start looking at upgrading the Canadian content in other areas. Right now we have enough to get by just fine in the other 4 NI spots. Can certainly draft other areas later in the draft, but in my opinion, OL is still the priority.
  3. In my opinion, the offensive line is the foundation of a football team. Once the Bombers have a solid foundation there, then we can start drafting BPA in the first round. I think we're getting close to having that foundation of solid NI's on the OL (Greaves, Neufeld, Goossen). If I'm a GM, I'd want to have 4-5 solid Canadian OL's to fill 3 roster spots; I didn't include Picard because he's near the end of his career. If this years first round draft pick (assuming its an OL) looks good, next year the Bombers can look at BPA in the first round, and maybe start looking at some high upside guys. Until then, gotta go OL.
  4. Not saying you are wrong, but this is the first time I've heard this. Where are you getting this info from?
  5. Good point, if Bryant gets seriously injured I'm not sure this O-line will do much better than last years edition. An upgrade at Center is great but it's not going to help them much out on the wings.Bombers are very high on Jace Daniels, who would fill in at LT if Bryant got injured. Devin Tyler is another option there as well. I'd say our OL depth this year is better than it was last year. I'd still like to find a way to keep Morley around, but I understand there are some cap issues with that. Jace Daniels just filling in? Devin Tyler?? We had the worst OL in the CFL last year. Our starters were for the most part useless & our backups even worse. So, if a few of the new guys go down hey... it's... no... big... deal. The B Team can fill in & we don't miss a beat. We're solid! Yeesh. In the few games he played, Daniels looked better than January at LT. And Tyler is a serviceable CFL tackle, who looked better than Jarvis Jones, Cordaro Howard and the super ripped athletic guy (can't remember his name now). They might not be all-stars, but our depth is slowly improving.
  6. Good article on Canadians trying to make the NFL: http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/nfl/canadian-nfl-hopefuls-hit-regional-combines/
  7. @JDunk12: Canadian OL Danny Groulx (@DannyGee01) invited and attending #NFL Super Regional Combine today in Arizona. @rougeetor
  8. Here's a new mock draft with some good analysis on each player/pick: http://thegoallinepost.blogspot.ca/2015/03/2015-cfl-mock-draft-version-one.html?m=1

  10. This ruling could kill a lot of Canadian channels that were bundled.
  11. Fraser, your strategy certainly works if you are disciplined enough to invest the difference, instead of just spending it on useless stuff.

  13. I heard he left for personal reasons. I know what the reasons are but won't post on here as they are private family matters.
  14. It might also be fairly easy to draw him back here after his first contract is up on another team. That's actually why I think we should draft someone else. Let Demski go through his growing pains/development into a pro on another team. Try to get him back here after. Yep, I like this strategy.
  15. Agreed. A mobile QB will do wonders for a sub-par OL.
  16. He moved here when he was two... That's pretty freakin close to canadian if your ask me..Cohon moved to Canada when he was 2. New guy came to Canada in 2007.
  17. Cohon is an American as well.
  18. So you think the CBC should have outbid SportsNet for NHL broadcasting rights? SportsNet blew TSN out of the water with their bid. And I believe the CBC is mostly funded by taxpayer dollars. No. I believe they had an opportunity to hold onto the deal they had for Saturday games and a share of the playoffs with a reasonable offer. They took HNIC for granted and were stunned when the league balked at their offer excluding them. They were not a player for national rights. I haven't seen that reported anywhere, that CBC had an opportunity to keep HNIC rights.

  20. Actually sometimes you have to.
  21. Your condo fees seem to be in line with what you would expect to pay in Winnipeg for a similar sized unit. As I understand it, most condos fees do not include phone and the inclusive cable must be part of the building security system arrangement. The gym is an extra, but is much cheaper than if you had a pool. Those, with pools, are very expensive, and personally, I wouldn't go to a condo with a pool. Too costly, especially in Winnipeg's climate.Condo living is not for everyone, but neither is owning a house. There's a huge trade off, with the ease of condo living as opposed to the maintenance of a house and yard etc. My building also has an indoor pool and hot tub. Indoor pools are less costly. I was referring to outdoor pools. Sounds like your condo is a conversion from a rental building. Pretty sure it's always been a condo, but I could be wrong. Why do you think it used to be a rental property?

  23. I thought the ONLY qualification to be CFL commish was to have a super-awesome tan???
  24. Heat only means heat. It's steam heat. All other elictricity I'm responsible for. We recently had a condo study conducted by a third party consultant and they said the reserve fund was in good shape.
  25. That's a weird arrangement that your fees don't cover internet, but they cover home phone and cable. Seems like you lose out on the ability to bundle + save. I think for everything included, your $400 is a good deal. If I get my Internet through Shaw, which I do, I still get the bundle discount.
