  1. Yes I understand it does happen, but not often. Do you have a list of newly drafted rookies who started and made an impact in their first season? I'm pretty sure it's a small list. I'm not talking special teams. My point is we shouldn't bank on any newly drafted rookies starting this year. If it happens, great. But it's not likeky. Not sure why you're getting so fired up about this.Because JBR seems to think its likely, and I'm just trying to set realistic expectations.

  3. Don't count on reaping many fruits from the 2015 draft this season. Usually takes these guys at least a year to start making an impact. One starter/guy who plays a lot of snaps on O or D and two more guys who fill out the bottom third of the roster is quite possible, barring the NFL taking that big time guy. For instance, if we draft a guy like Waud he's instantly the best Canadian on our DL and possibly on our defense as a whole. He'd be playing quite a bit. Overall I think the Bombers could go either way. Younger guys will be little more experienced, and they'll be more experienced together as a team including the coaching staff. We'll find out which half of the 2014 season was the fluke. First of all I said "usually" and that's accurate. It's very rare for a newly drafted rookie to start and make an impact in their first season.
  4. So you'd be happy with a 4-5 win season?

  7. It's not set in stone yet, but all indications are that Hurl will be our MLB this season. Huge upgrade over Kuale. I've watched tape on Hurl from last season and he's very solid.
  8. Not sure if we're a 12 win team just yet, but 9-10 wins and playoffs are my expectations.
  9. WINNIPEG, MB., April 10, 2015 –The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added International defensive lineman Nate Collins and International defensive back David Van Dyke. Collins (6-2, 300, Virginia, December 14, 1987, in White Plains, New York) went undrafted in 2010, but then signed with Jacksonville in 2011, playing in 11 games. He went on to play the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Chicago Bears, and finished his NFL career with 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Collins played collegiate football at Virginia, where he was an All-ACC in 2009. Van Dyke (6-0, 185, Tennessee State, March 6, 1991, in Miami, Florida) signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in May of 2014. He attended Tennessee State where he was a second-team all-Ohio Valley Conference selection. He recorded 52 tackles, and two interceptions in his senior season, taking one back 46-yards for a touchdown.
  10. Collins tore his ACL in 2013.
  11. @DarrinBauming: #Bombers add two Internationals: 6'2" 300lb DL Nate Collins and 6'0" 185lb DB David Van Dyke. Collins spent 2012 & 2013 with Chicago Bears.
  12. Reeves had a presser today with the media. He said his goal for this season is to make the PR and then the actual roster.
  13. I agree 100%. I hope we find a way to keep him. He still has value.Wait a minute.Did you just admit to liking a player, playing out of position? lol
  14. I agree 100%. I hope we find a way to keep him. He still has value.
  15. Yep some other RB had a good 40 time and sucked, so that automatically means this guy sucks because he also has a good 40 time. I love the logic in here.
  16. @Darren_Cameron: Recently signed Jordan Reaves will attend the club's mini-camp in Florida, starting April 19. #Bombers
  17. @Darren_Cameron: #Bombers sign Winnipeg native, receiver, Jordan Reaves.
  18. Scott is a very solid signing...I believe he started a few games for the NY Giants either last year or the year before. He's 5'11, 211lbs and his 40 time is 4.34.
  19. That's not how accounting works. I know. Debt payments don't hit the income statement, they reduce the debt outstanding on the balance sheet. The only portion of a debt payment that hits the income statement is the interest portion of the payment, if there is any interest. Those here accusing the Bombers of "creative accounting" etc. don't know what they are talking about. They posted a $3.9 million profit. During a losing season. They put another $500K of cash into their emergency fund. All that means is that they had cash come in that covered their operating costs, paid the debt payment, and STILL had $500K left to throw into their emergency fund. All of this is GREAT NEWS and yet, why I am surprised there are people here that are pissing all over it. Just unbelievable. You must be new here. Welcome. Yep, a lot of d-bag comments on these forums lately.
  20. So sounds like they have two reserve funds?? One general and the one with a $5 million cap that is specifically for stadium maintenance/upgrades.
  21. Yes they pulled about half a million out of the reserve, which I believe I read was at $1.6 million.
  22. It was actually less than an hour this year.
  23. I wanted to hear his response. In my mind his response was clear that Morley won't be back. We will see...And to be honest, I don't see how your mind works, in that you have such an issue with me asking that question.
  24. Dude, you're reading way too much into that.Since you're a big shot with the Bombers, do you have inside info confirming Morley will be in training camp this year? I'd love to be wrong because I think Morley still has value, but I think my assumption based on Walters response is reasonable. Just simply speaking as a fan who was at the forum. Plus if I remember correctly, your question wasn't "Will Steve Morley be at camp?" it was more elongated with a statement about the new o-line acquisitions. Then I believe you made a statement about having to trim salary and gave Morley as an example of someone who could possibly be a casualty and wanted KW to confirm that for you. Yes I gave some context, and then specifically asked whether Morley would be in camp. That's a standard way to ask a question.
  25. @Joe_Burnett19: I'm built like a Horse, I Play like a Horse, and now I'm apart of the 2014 Grey Cup Championship Team who's Mascot is a Horse! #GoStamps
