Mike, the condo fees don't cover internet. I live in a condo around Pembina and Bishop Grandin. The gym at my condo has all the necessities, but nothing extravagant. The $40 I estimated is cost per month I'd have to pay for a membership at the Y or Shapes.

Yep looks very qualified. Great choice.

I'm shocked Taman didn't get it.

@CFL_PR: The #CFL will make an important announcement at a media conference this morning at 11 a.m. ET in Toronto. @simmonssteve: You can scratch Tom Anselmi's name from list of CFL commissioner candidates. Someone's getting hired today but it's not him.

I live in the south end of Winnipeg, in a concrete condo built in 1989. My 7th floor unit is a 2BR 1000 sq feet penthouse with a river view. The condo was recently assessed at $220,000. I pay $400 per month in condo fees, which include: Home phone - $20 value Cable TV - $50 value Gym & Rec Centre, which I use regularly - $40 value Water - $50 value (average over a full year) Heat - $50 value (average over a full year - Winnipeg winters are cold!) Fire insurance - $20 value So that's a total of $230 of $400 per month I'd be spending even if I lived in a house. I suppose the other $170 is for maintenance, parking, security, repairs, landscaping etc. I know a lot of people feel condo fees are a waste of money but when broken down this seems fairly reasonable to me. In your opinion are these condo fees reasonable?

Gary also said he'd need a size 3XL Bomber jersey for himself and Bryant said "no I think you're more of a 4 or 5XL kind of guy". Gary then says, "ah you're pulling the fat card already, hey. Just wait...Drew Willy gets sacked and the headline is going to be 'Bryant is a Bust'". It was pretty hilarious

A good watch if you have a few minutes...our prized free agency acquisition: http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/108803. It's funny when someone from the media asks him about his relationship with "Drew" and he starts talking about Drew Tate. He then realizes the questions was about Drew Willy.

How has this thread not been locked yet? Guess it's been a long offseason

I like Groulx and Waud at 2, assuming neither have any NFL interest. I'd go Groulx over Waud.

So you expect Durant to step right in his rookie year and make an impact as the starting X for the Bombers? Okay.I know the easy response to this is to point out that Kito Poblah didn't pan out, but Lemar Durant is probably the most solid REC prospect the CFL has seen since Kito Poblah. Shamawd Chambers is up there too.Durant is a very solid receiver and I definitely wouldn't write him off as a potential year one starter. There are going to be a few of them in this draft and I think he's got as good a shot as any. Sure Durant could eventually become a stud, but relying on him to be your starting X receiver in his rookie year is unreasonable. Who said anything about relying on him to be our X receiver. How about drafting him and letting him compete for the job. What is unreasonable about that?My point exactly. Earlier posters suggested Walters was looking at this years draft to fill our need for a big X receiver. I said that's unlikely and that Walters will be looking to the free agent camps to meet that need.

Actually it's not open to interpretation. Read the Free Press article then (on their website). There's a clear separation by a header between the draft discussion and the FA camp discussion. The discussion on the big X receiver is about import free agent camps, not the draft. And when you look at it on their website, the part about FA camps and X receivers are in a side bar with multiple lines between them which means they are 2 separate thoughts implying the Bombers wish to sign X receivers any way they can't get them - draft or FA. It's clear to me what Tait was reporting here, but if you want to believe that based on reading the article, Walters is looking to this years draft for a big X receiver to make an impact this season, that's up to you. To me the article is clear; one part CFL draft, one part free agent camp.

Shows just how watered down the Canadian OL talent pool is getting around the league.
-
Pretty sure he wants an X receiver as an import from the free agent camps, not the draft. Its possible, but the article was discussing Canadian WRs in the draft. No it was discussing both the Canadian draft and the free agent camp. Several issues discussed in one article. Read it again. The part about the X receiver is under the free agent camp section. think it is nonspecific enough to refer to either Canadian or American receivers playing the X spot. Like I said above. If it's not clear in what I posted, read the article of the free press website. It's like two articles in one. One on the draft and on one free agent camps where it talks about the import X receiver. But read whatever you guys want. That's not how Ed Tait wrote it though.

"Retiring" and then being called back in mid Sept when the OL injuries start kicking in.If he stays in shape that might not be a bad idea if all parties are in agreement.
-
Waud turned some heads in the States when he played in the Shrine Bowl - he's could be NFL bound. Yep. Key to drafting in the CFL is getting the best players who won't leave for the NFL.
-
I'd also like to see Morley kept around, but Walters didn't mention him as being part of this years plans. Walters also said he needs to cut some salary from the OL. All signs point to Morley retiring or being released.

@DarrinBauming: Hector tells me he's actually up to 225lbs. At 6'4", this fits what I am told about the #Bombers looking to get bigger at receiver.
-
And another Hector scouting report: Morehouse WR Derrick Hector is a tall athletic receiver at 6-4 215 lbs that has good size and uses his frame well to shield away opponents. He gets vertical on defenders and fights to make the reception. He also displays good eye/hand coordination and shows strong hands when making tough catches over the middle. Hector looks smooth coming out of his breaks but tends to get a little high sometimes when setting up his routes. He clutches the ball into his body on some intermediate routes and needs to work on consistently catching the ball more with his hands. He also needs to work on coming back to the quarterback on certain pass plays. Hector was one of the biggest receivers during the HBCU Bowl week and impressed NFL scouts in practices with how fluid he looked releasing off the line with quick top speed and also his burst when selling the deep route. Hector uses his size and strength to his advantage and gives good effort blocking downfield. He also showed his ability as a red zone threat consistently winning the jump ball battle against just about every defensive back he faced. Hector put up productive numbers considering the offense he played in and was also a two time all conference performer. A good pro day will increase his chances on receiving an opportunity in training camp. Hector has the size, speed and receiver skills to play at the next level and could be a good candidate as a fifth receiver. He will have to pull together a complete game in training camp and quickly adjust to better competition to give himself the best opportunity to make an active NFL roster or practice squad.
-
Here's a scouting report on Hector: "He measured in at only 6-3 this post-season which was a bit disappointing considering he was listed on the schools roster at 6-6. Runs in the 4.6 range and has a little short area quickness for his size. However, isn't overly sudden and is a strider who lacks the second gear needed to track the football. Uses his size well to shield and will use his length to go get the football. Impression: A nice size free agent, but is going to have a tough time separating in the NFL."

Because of how deep this draft is, I doubt it.
