  1. You may have just found the tagline for the internet.
  2. So if he gets gets cut, will we say he’s “been Shoen the door”? I’ll let myself out.
  3. Once again for today: Something old Something new Something borrowed Loves the zoo
  4. No one will be considered as the heir apparent to Cameron as the greatest punter ever until they have played minimum 12-15 years in the league. Let’s face it, Cameron was stellar in bad weather and may have been one of the most cerebral punters out there, but in terms of pure talent he is not the best punter who has played (as opposed to the “greatest” which is more of an anointed title by accomplishment - 3 Grey Cups and one really memorable performance). It is his longevity that probably accounts for 75% of his greatness. Yes, you have to be very good to hang around that long, but even Cameron himself said when Westwood came along he knew Westy could put-punt him 7 days a week, but his tenure with Cal Murphy saved him, and he made a point of buddying up to Troy and worked on the placekicking stuff to keep him happy and away from punting duties. And Jon Ryan was certainly more naturally skilled (distance and hang time) with a much stronger leg. Neat re-cap of the 1988 Grey Cup and how Cameron recognized and adapted to the wind conditions, and how he used BCs coverage tactics against them. Cal Murphy said on more than one occasion that having Bob around was like having an extra coach. https://www.bluebombers.com/2017/11/24/grey-cup-long-read-remembering-1988/
  5. The Suitor and Rod Black comments are a lot more about hate than “just discussion”.
  6. Today’s number is 6, so I thought he t 6 different versions of the jersey made sense. Fortunately the Bombers have one player who modelled them all.
  7. There already is a traumatized generation that is fearful. It was created on 9/11, when the USA got a well-placed kick in its complacency that it was an unassailable empire protected by the ocean from any attack. Rather than re-assessing their foreign policy or adopting the British-style “stiff upper lip” that sustained them during the WW2 bombings, the States opted to ramp up their xenophobia and isolationism in a false effort to preserve their myth of “greatest country on earth” and “toughest cop on the beat”, seeing boogeymen on every corner and arming for anticipated insurgency because they had no real identifiable enemy country to fight.
  8. As long as we can all agree that the Riders suck then we can still embrace the FIFO mantra!
  9. Only the days that end in “Y”. Or so I’m told. I actually like Speed’s take on many things, and he is a true long-time fan who knows the history of the club. And we can agree that LaPo was conservative, but disagree as to if he regressed his talent and it cost us games or played to the the strengths of the personnel he had and put up a winning record. In the end, the offence under his guidance won us our first Grey Cup in 29 years so that’s all I care about.
  10. And yet the one thing he did as a coordinator was win more than he lost.
  11. Just ignore 17to85. He was all in on Joe Mack’a kool-aid and the whole “IMWT” nonsense so has always blamed LaPo for that regime’s failure to salvage his credibility for backing a loser. Speed I’m not sure, but seems to be mad at something every now and again. And Booch knows a guy. Brandon always loved the back-up so Nichols was his target. And both had their strong points and their flaws. Love them, hate them, who cares? We will always have the 2019 Grey Cup championship that they were both a part of, whatever credit you want to give them or not. Time to move on to new discussions.
  12. Back-to-back Grey Cups, record breaking defence, top ranked offence, and some here need to re-hash their 90th re-telling of the same tired 4 year old narrative of which of our Cup winning offensive personnel was the most useless and the cause of all of our championship-level misery. How about we just enjoy the rings and start a fresh take on Ambrosie’s scarves? I swear, this board some days.
  13. 20 Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers No, it’s your fat ass that makes you look fat. Did I ace the test?
  14. Fun fact - no NHL team has ever given up 8 or more goals twice in the same playoff year and gone on to win the Stanley Cup that same year. Only the 1980 NY Islanders and the 1984 Edmonton Oilers have given up 8 goals in any one single playoff game and gone on to win the Cup that same year (those 1980 Islanders also gave up 7 in another game). The 1945 Toronto Maple Leafs gave up a record 10 goals in a playoff game for a team that went on to win the Cup that same year. There is one other pro North American team to have multiple defensive breakdowns like this year’s Oilers and still win a championship. The 1979 WHA Winnipeg Jets gave up 8 goals in one game and 10 in another (their only two playoff losses that year), but ended up winning the Avco Cup.
  15. It’s the same hate that Brown had dumped on him in the season finale against Calgary last year. Fans being fans and making knee-jerk reactions on players too quickly. But you are bang on, it makes no difference once Collaros goes in and plays all the snaps.
  16. They never said which Tuesday. 😁
  17. You can…..but should you?
  18. Starters did their own sneaks even up to Kevin Glenn times. I think we only started inserting the back-up when Buck Pierce arrived and we wanted to save him the extra pounding. Now it’s standard for the back-up to do the sneaks.
  19. Since one LB position has basically been transformed into a 6th DB position with the advent of the 5REC:1RB set, I suspect they’ll just convert one of those DBs to LB.
  20. Just a hunch, but this year’s Most Outstanding Canadian.
  21. Obvious choice here. Only Bomber I know of who has a stamp.
