  1. How does this happen after the trade deadline?
  2. Three categories of hobbies for me. Activity-wise, enjoy golf and world travel. In terms of mental activities, enjoy crosswords and other word puzzles (Sudoku or Wordle/Quordle/Canukle/Puckle/Puckduko stuff, although it can get to be a bit much) to keep my brain sharp. Also enjoy jigsaw puzzles, especially the 3D ones (I have a city full of various buildings on display, and a 4 puzzle New York City skyline). As for community hobbies, I like organizing and sports-related stuff, so I help with community BINGO and work with the Bison sports programs in tournament scheduling and stats keeping. Have also organized various curling leagues and school volleyball tournaments.
  3. At this moment, projected game roster is the same as it was last time out.
  4. Preds 10-0-2 in their last 12, but to be fair only 3 of those games came against playoff teams. In fact, the winning percentage of their opponents during that time (removing the phony loser point inflating the records) is .442.
  5. Goalposts 4 Jets 3 Caps 0. 4th line the only one without a goal tonight but playing very well. Namestnikov may be the hardest worker out there tonight.
  6. Scheifele with some nice odd man rush passes, and KFC converts one, Jets now in control 3-0.
  7. Iafallo gets the goal, but that may be reviewed before game’s end. Jets skating circles around the Caps right now.
  8. And the player who sounds the most like a Batman punch opens the scoring.
  9. Special game time: 6:30 pm Sportsnet The story - Debuts of Toffoli and Miller presumably , as the club tries to bounce back from “the worst performance ever in the Bowness era” (according to the coach himself). Caps on a 4 game winning streak against the Jets.
  10. Since his win against the Canucks Feb. 17, Connor Hellebuyck is 3-4-0 with a GAA of 3.60 and save% of .892. Brossoit over that same time is 4-0-0 with 1 shutout, a GAA of 1.75 and a save % of .938.
  11. After Appleton’s open net shot hit Demko’s pad and the Canucks immediately broke in two on one to score, I thought “it’s going to be one of THOSE games. Canucks very motivated to make amends for their performance last time out. Hitting everything and outskating and out working the Jets.
  12. MBB Jets’ posters on target today! Well done all, let’s keep the energy up. Have to say again surprised how vocal the contingent of Jets fans were in Seattle last night, and more so in Buffalo last week. When we scored the cheering was quite noticeable. Expecting a healthy dose of Winnipeggers in the crowd in BC tonight. Our fans certainly travel well.
  13. Game time: 9:00 pm Sportsnet and CBC - HNIC, last game before the clocks go forward for Daylight Savings. The story: Top 2 teams in the West percentage-wise in another all-Canadian Saturday night National broadcast match-up. Last time was the most “playoff-style” game seen this year, with the Jets winning and the Canucks whining. What do they have for an encore?
  14. Ehlers salts it away with the empty netter, and the best Jets goalie in the last month gets his first shutout of the year. Best defensive effort and overall game since the shutout win over Florida in my mind.
  15. Nice kill by the Jets working the wall well down low. And Jets answer on the odd man rush right after the kill as the third line comes through with a great rush. Lowry doubles the lead.
  16. It took a while but Scheifele opens the scoring in the third after a timely pinch from Morrissey and quick feed from Namestnikov.
  17. Game time: 9 PM TSN3 Storyline: the rematch on the West Coast. Jets load up at the trade deadline, and the rosters expand. New players won’t debut until Monday, but the first of a back-to-back. Brossoit to start apparently.
  18. A little from column A: A little from column B:
  19. Day drinking is no way to go through life.😉
  20. Not sure how much more of the team’s future I would mortgage for temp fill-ins. Big names are gone, price will be high, and the competition is wide open this year. 5 legit West contenders, not counting the defending champs who just made a big splash themselves in the trade market, and a Kings team that showed how hot it could get in November, and a surging Nashville. Jets have four line depth and the best goalie in the business now, enough to have kept them at the top of the Conference all season. May be enough to take a run as is. We haven’t even considered adding Heinola or McGroarity to the mix yet as depth.
