  1. Yeah, maybe it will be an actual issue next year unlike the manufactured non-controversy some tried to sell as a problem this season. Serious question - what evidence is there that the roster moves actually cost us this year, and what proof is there that we made it so hard on ourselves or would have been much better if some fans’ preferred players were on the roster over what the club actually fielded? Of our 4 losses, 2 were in OT, and 3 of the 4 were by 2, 3, and 6 points. And in those losses it’s a lot easier to find an on-field mistake that was the difference, rather than the fact that we did not have a certain person rostered as a back-up to a back-up in spot #45. The one blowout we had, well we just sent that team packing again in a dominant West Final, and IIRC the big worry was the age of our o-line after that game, not the “Haba vs Jackson” debate. In our 14 wins, 11 were by double digits (same as the mighty Argos, BTW) and only 1 was by less than a TD. Our average margin of victory in those wins was 18 points. What was so hard about this year in the big picture? This isn’t a Madden video game on easy mode where anything less than a 60 point win is a failure. This edition of the club, if they win it all next week, should go down as one of the best ever teams in franchise history. And even if we quibble about a certain roster move, it sure looks like based on where we stand today that the staff made all the right decisions in the end, and the “putrid roster management” story was largely overblown. Convince me otherwise.
  2. Here’s the recipe for the Texas nachos (inspired by Planet Hollywood in San Antonio): Tostitos Rounds fry bacon slices, cut each slice into 1/3 pieces 1/3 bacon strip on each individual Round big enough to cover the Round without spilling over grill boneless chicken breast, dice it diced chicken on the bacon slice diced tomato beside the chicken on the bacon slice Bullseye BBQ sauce, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per piece, over the chicken and tomato shredded marble cheddar atop the BBQ sauce, better to keep the cheese contained to each chip so each can be eaten separately, rather than covering the whole pan broil until the cheese is melted serve warm
  3. Road jersey. True Blue 4 Ever on the back. Same one I wore at the 2021 Grey Cup. Made the mistake of wearing my home Collaros jersey at IG West last year. Not messing with karma again
  4. That would be O’Shea’s speech for all here who turned on him this season - but he’s too classy to say “I told you so”. Will quietly deflect to the players and the other coaches, as he does.
  5. So you’re saying roster management will be a non-factor on if we lose? 😉
  6. The Bombers technically did 7 in a row, in games they were allowed to appear in. They were in the Cup in 1937, 38, and 39 (won that year), would have gone in 1940 but for being banned by Rugby Union rules (they won the West championship again that season), went back in 1941 (won), season cancelled due to WW2 from 1942-44 (although the RCAF Bombers played in 1942 and 43), and then they appeared in 1945,46, and 47.
  7. Great point by Greg Mackling I think in the pre-game show that BC started 6-1 and played the Taylor Cornelius Elks twice, building their “Donut Boys” image against that hapless team with 2 shutouts. At that point they were giving up 13.4 points against. Then they got walloped in Winnipeg, which was the first step in a 6-5 finish and a defence that gave up an average of 31.3 points a game. The Donut Boys were full of holes and this “best team” was a myth, buoyed by fancy sack totals and fat passing numbers.
  8. I’m looking forward to this week’s Grey Cup game in Hamilton, that’s for sure.
  9. 3 straight first place finishes, 4 Grey Cup appearances in a row - not epic apparently. I’ll take “just fine” if that is the standard.
  10. And be patient (that goes for fans too). 8 times this year Bombers were trailing, tied, or had at best a 3 point lead at the half, and went on to win the game by more than a TD. This is a defence that feels out it’s opponents on the first half and then locks down second half, and bully ball grinds out the 4th quarter with a lead. Not my favorite way to see a win, but a close game early does not necessarily spell trouble. Don’t abandon the run if behind in the first half.
  11. Rose has been exposed in the last few games. Playing way off, has been in chase mode on more than a few passes, and has been straight-armed by receivers a few times when trying to tackle. Not sure Houston is the answer with his gambling style, because he leaves us open to the big play against, but Rose being out is not the worst decision, even if surprising, IMO
  12. More reliable than a Swiss train conductor. Here is the big question after the roster came out - barring injury, has Winston Rose played his last game as a Bomber?
  13. When you find a better position than first place, let me know. I trust O’Shea.
  14. Nice to see the fans in TO packing the park as best they can. Enjoy the day tomorrow. The anticipation here is peaking too!
  15. Me at work watching the clock waiting for tomorrow to come: The clock:
  16. I nominate this song in honour of the stripes tonight
  17. Love it. Bit of a middle finger to some of the MBB naysayers spouting doom and gloom too.
  18. I know, but the announced attendance for a sellout only dropped this season, and my mind was still working off what I had heard since 2015 was a sellout. Hodge’s tweet they the club was mid-identifying the sellout capacity in past years clears that up.
