  1. Feel like they are going to need an ugly, greasy 4th line goal to have a chance here.
  2. 5 minute power play but no Connor or Scheifele on it.
  3. Good news - Jets have won 5 straight against the Ducks, including the last two road games in Anaheim Really good news - Anaheim is the 4th worst team in the NHL Really really good news - Anaheim is 1-10 in their last 11 (the win was in a shootout) Really really really good news - a Jets win and they are first in the Central (knock wood for no jinx).
  4. Connor seals it. Big character win tonight. Did not want to jinx it by mentioning it earlier, but this is now 15 straight games giving up 3 goals or less.
  5. Connor actually. After a nifty MacKinnon goal blowing by Stanley, JoMo makes it 3-1 That looked in. Waiting for the horn. Yup. 3-2
  6. They did. They were thinking specifically of this fan - why ruin his fun with a roof?
  7. Size? I honestly am trying to figure that out myself. Is he a better option than Schmidt even? If he shot right-handed it might make more sense.
  8. Because mistakes were made, no one claimed differently. Zach’s INT and Brady’s fumble, for example, are two mistakes that almost certainly cost us points that would have made the difference.
  9. The club said what he did was nothing criminal. That would qualify as indecent exposure.
  10. Now if Team Canada only had a goaltender.
  11. As has been mentioned by @Booch, Joe Pascucci would be the best to touch base with for any video clips, as he acts as an unofficial club historian with lots of archival stuff from his days at CKND (had the foresight to save the stuff). The Free Press has their online archive, or you could attend the Winnipeg Centennial library to view their entire microfilm catalogue (which would allow you to print any pages from any issue of the paper, provided you know which dates you are looking for). They may have some newspaper photos. As for the club, not sure if the Alumni Association could help, but try their website at www.bomberalumni.com and reach out to them if you have any specific requests. I also saw that the club posted an obituary for your dad on the www.bluebombers.com website back in 2011 (you can still find a link to it by searching your dad’s name on Google), so they might be of assistance too. Finally, as you have seen, @SpeedFlex27 is our resident go-to guy for the past living history of the club, especially the 1970’s era, so he would have a trove of memories for you. Best of luck with your search.
  12. Team with Bowness behind the bench: 3-6-0 Team with Arniel behind the bench: 9-2-2 Just sayin’
  13. Jets were just a little too cautious in the third. Didn’t really push anything for the last 15 minutes of the period. It almost worked, but a weak goal given up by Hellebuyck flipped the script, and you just knew a late penalty was coming.
  14. Hyman ran a pick when Morrissey was shadowing McDavid and caught him with a shoulder to the sternum on a blind side hit, knocked him flat on his back. And it was a targeted hit more than just “he ran into me not watching”. Was down for a few seconds. Did another shift before going to the quiet room on concussion protocol (best guess), but he is back now.
  15. I remember an interview OSH gave with the media after LaPolice was re-hired in 2016. It was noted that he had two former head coaches on his staff now, and didn’t that cause him some concern for his job (especially after the bad 2015 season and more than a few fans calling for his head) that there were two ready replacements to step in easily and take over, as opposed to hiring underlings at co-ordinator who weren’t a threat to his job security? His comment essentially was that it was the opposite - he wanted the best minds possible and the most experience possible, and the best thing for his job security was to surround himself with the smartest and most competent people around to help him so that the team could be the best it could be, rather than sabotage the team success by hiring lesser people out of some misguided need to protect himself. THAT, he said, was the quickest way to find himself in the unemployment line. He wanted the best collection of ideas working with him and challenging him to being the best product out on the field, and it would be silly to be intimidated by it and try to silence that input and ignore that creativity in the hopes that it would give him a safety net for his job.
  16. In lieu of a gift, I plan to make a donation in your name to the Human Fund - “Money for People”.
  17. It’s been a while, but since we are in off-season mode now, time for another random question. This one inspired by US Thanksgiving and the annual call back to this TV moment, which makes this episode a contender: The question - in your opinion, what is the single funniest episode in television history?
  18. Well, good news is I won my Grey cup pool ticket. 28-24 East. $450!!!!!
  19. Too late. @SpeedFlex27 already started it. Only one of two outcomes for him at day’s end today. 1. 2.
  20. Ron MacLean is a really interesting take. He has taken a bunch of heat about his comments on the HNIC panel, and in the wake of the Don Cherry firing. And he tries too hard with the puns, I find. But I also do remember him doing one-on-one interviews with players where he really shone and asked great non-traditional questions. I guess the medium is so important too, like having a longer free-form discussion rather than a short media scrum where you get one question, or a canned talk show interview for 8-10 minutes. I like the “After Hours” segment on HNIC for that, think Scott Oake does OK with it.
