The truth of us is not in what we say, but in what we actually do.

And I bet he said that with a straight face, too. I am a behaviourist. and it matters little what people say, but are defined by what they do and O'Shea's past actions give a pretty clear as to his mindset.

We ain't never gonna see that again.

Methinks O'Shea has gotten a bit oversensitive about his well-deserved reputation about fielding injured players.

2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season
This idea is not as crazy/improbable as it sounds.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Saskatchewan Roughriders GDT
To an extent it is. O'Shea has been fielding his chosen ones to the exclusion of the new arrivals who showed some potential and ultimately left. This does not exonerate Walters as he bears ultimate responsibility for overseeing the player attainment and also allowing O'Shea to create a good deal of this mess the team is in.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
O'Shea's opinion is influenced by his ego and his dawning realization that the team is struggling to make the playoffs which will affect his reputation and whether he will be here next year. His conduct in the Drew Willy/Matt Nichols incident plus his handling of Collaros in the last Grey Cup game is a powerful indicator of how he functions.

Disagree. If Kolanlowski was capable of being embarrassed by his performances, he would have committed seppuku long ago.

I had my doubts about Vaughters after the Stamps shed him, but we've had success with other teams' castoffs. Whatever oomph he had seems to be gone.

Which is where the dearly departed Wolitarski thrived.

Wallace is loaded with potential and we will not know how good Neufeld still until the turnstile at center is upgraded.

The concern lies not with the quarterback so much as with the OC and lack of talent around him.

I believe competent GM and head coach candidates are out there, even if they have not held these positions as yet. The Argos hit gold when they hired Dinwiddie and if the Bomber upper management cannot find these, they ought to step aside and let those who can do the job.

3 turds plus ch winds of change
I fear that if a couple of tweaks perks the team up a bit, that might be a signal to upper management that all is going to be well. The Blue have been sinking into mediocrity for the third year now and have been bypassed by the Riders (ugh), the Stamps and TiCats. There is nothing to lose by firing the authors of the decline and new coaches plus the roster changes most here have been advocating will give the fans hope instead of fatalism,

One of the changes that ought to be made is to sack the head coach and offensive coordinator. The season is lost, we've been soundly beaten by our arch-rivals twice in a row, and the message has to be sent that incompetence will not be tolerated. O'Shea, Hogan and even Walters have to know that they are almost certainly to be fired in a couple of months and can't be enjoying life. The sooner the overhaul begins the better.

If you do not know how to tackle properly, you shouldn't be playing pro ball.

The last, faint hope died when he went out. Momentum was pretty iffy already at that point.

Concussions are nothing you can train to overcome, and every concussion leaves the victim more vulnerable to the next one. Collaros must be pretty close to his limit if he is not there already. I recall Matt Dunnigan sayin in a n interview that he was still experiencing the effects long, long after.

I suggest it is hubris, plain and simple. Walters is to blame for letting things come to this, but O'shea's ego will not allow him to accept that his judgement has become and likely always was flawed. As we age, we become more and more set into a our core personalities. Stubbornness/determination is probably a valuable asset as a player but a liability as a coach. The Willy/Nichols incident when O'Shea was fairly new as the Bomber head coach was very telling.

I caught O'Shea's post-game interview. The interview was short, O'Shea was very curt in his replies and evasive. He said that both recent games were closely played and it all came down to the Riders making a "couple more plays" than the Bombers. And no, he didn't think losing Collaros changed the Bomber game plan. Sadly, he was probably right.

With Edmonton, BC, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa being the way they are. we are likely to make the playoffs and stall there.

O'Shea says "why"?

Not to mention a head coach and OC.

He didn't make much of an effort at all.
