  1. You have just undermined the entire Cons strategy.
  2. Trump's lawyers met with the DOJ this morning. This means that the DOJ has offered Trump a chance to plead guilty with some sort of plea deal before laying charges. Typically, someone in that position will have no more than 24 hours to accept whatever was offered (if a deal was even offered at all) and if no deal is reached, arrest warrants will be issued within 2-3 days. A plea deal would require Trump to plead guilty in open court in full view of cameras and it is doubtful if his bloated ego will allow him to do so, but that is the only way he could avoid jail time.
  3. Scientists May Have Found Exactly How LSD Treats Depression We’ve known that psychedelic drugs like psilocybin mushrooms and LSD show a lot of promise in addressing some of the world’s most widespread mental disorders for a while now. Not only can they treat things like treatment resistant depression and PTSD, but they can even help terminally ill patients with their end-of-life anxiety. What scientists don’t know, though, is why exactly psychedelics are so effective at treating these disorders. Luckily, some new research by an international team of neuroscientists sheds light on this trippy mystery. The researchers published a study on Monday in the journal Nature Neuroscience that showed that LSD and psilocin (the primary molecule in magic mushrooms) bind to a specific receptor in the brains of laboratory mice—causing an antidepressant effect as a result. Since the mechanism specifically works to reduce depression, the study’s authors believe that it could lead to the development of drugs to treat depression in humans without hallucinations. “The hallucinogenic effects of psychedelics limit their widespread clinical application, as their administration is restricted to clinical settings that often require intensive monitoring,” the study’s authors wrote. They added that their research suggests “that the antidepressant and plasticity-promoting effects of psychedelics may be dissociable from their hallucinogenic effects.” Today, more than 17 million U.S. adults and 2 million children suffer from clinical depression. Roughly 10 to 30 percent of those patients don’t respond to traditional antidepressant medication either—resulting in treatment resistant disorders. Enter psychedelics. In recent years, drugs like ketamine, LSD, magic mushrooms, and MDMA have shown a lot of promise in treating disorders like depression and PTSD. However, one major hurdle with these drugs is the fact that they often cause hallucinations. That means that patients undergoing psychedelic treatments need to be supervised by doctors in a highly-regulated medical setting. That poses a huge barrier for the vast majority of patients. However, if the drug was as easy as popping a pill at home without the worry of tripping out, then it could open the doors to treating millions of people.
  4. I like BC to finish second in the West, but I am still not convinced that Adams is the answer. He has all the physical tools but I doubt he has the mental abilities to be a consistent winner. Gotta be Hamilton in the East and after that, the rest of the teams are toss-ups. I am rooting for the RedBlacks to be a lot better this years.
  5. Swarmay came into camp with little fanfare but was all over the field against the Riders. He is a rookie, though, but the talent and drive is there, so all that is needed is experience.
  6. And now the 'Cats have Kongbo. That should make the game verry interesting to watch.
  7. Credible reports indicate that a 300-man Polish volunteer force has joined Russian resistance forces in Belgorod.
  8. Or he will expected to commit seppuku at midfield following any gaffe that leads to an opposition score.
  9. With Kongbo, it was probably a matter of $. He will be missed but I am cautiously optimistic about our d-line, but not about our linebackers. I really hope Wade comes through- he looks to have a load of potential but the CFL game has so much motion that its easy for newbies to get confusicated.
  10. That might be OK, depending on the belly-roll but a Speedo is verboten, as a thong.
  11. It seems to be a feature of O'Shea that he hangs onto veterans just a bit too long and that is reflected in roster, but I have no doubt that when push comes to shove, he (and Walters) will do the right thing.
  12. That is the major benefit of having a QB who is a threat to tun, even if he doesn't. It causes that extra second or two hesitation in the opposing D-line and linebackers and even affects the secondary. So many more options.
  13. I think they are both about the same and a major downgrade.
  14. Cole has had his ups and downs so far but Clements has shown only occasional bits of competence, so I am losing confidence in him.
  15. Mike Pence Claims God Is Calling Him To Run For President Former Vice President Mike Pence said that he has heard a calling from God and he will announce his presidential campaign decision on Wednesday. Pence is participating in Joni Ernst’s Roast and Ride in Iowa: That is not the voice of God in Mike Pence’s ear. It’s his ego. Republican presidential candidates who claim that God told them to run do not have good track records, which means that God is a lousy pundit or isn’t really talking to these Republicans. Trump supporters think that Mike Pence is the anti-Christ, so could Pence possibly be confusing the voice of God with Satan? Pence has no chance of winning the Republican nomination, and when the only justification for his candidacy is God told him to do it, things will get very bad very fast.
  16. Sooooo.....Harper's sorry record is irrelevant because its in the past but Kinew's is not. Okaay...
  17. When Dru Brown came out, the offence was sort of ok but when Pigrome came out, the whole offence woke up, even before he took the first snap. Pigrome is a real talent and I hope he is coached to first look for the pass rather than run first. He looks to have at least a decent arm and good touch on the ball, so he has that ability. We have what seems to be a darned good receiver corps and using them will cut down on injury potentials and extend his career.
  18. Sometimes either the Crown or the defence will ask for continuances due to either having a weak case (and hope for a plea deal) or the defendant has personal circumstances that present reasonable grounds for a remand.
  19. You are correct. 1my excuse is that I am sick as a dog.
  20. The Bomber press release stated that they expected Lawler's situation to take 2-3 weekss to resolve.
  21. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be/
  22. With our Big Gun receiver sidelined, if he will be unavailable for any length of time, could we see Darvin Adams back here?
  23. India has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan for a major natural gas pipeline which will reduce imports from Russia dramatically. Putin remains a master strategist.
  24. Probably just a statistical blip, but in the Free Press today, the PCs were challenged on their claim that they have substantially improved hiring of medical staff and lowered wait times for surgeries but have no figures to back that up.
