  1. Would love to see the Bombers D pick up where they left off and show they can dominate no matter who is on the field. The last month they’ve been on a mission despite a craptastic offence. As for Ottawa... there seems to be this persistent notion that Mark Nelson is still their DC. Noel Thorpe is their DC this season.
  2. Some (mainly rider fans) now saying Edmonton made the Bombers look good by mailing it in... Eskies weren’t just standing around smoking cigarettes - they just got curb stomped by a Bombers team that wanted it more.
  3. Look around the league... battle-tested heart and soul of the team just cranked out a 90 point season while kids like Draisaitl in Edmonton are already 8.5 million and up. Wheeler’s salary is well deserved. The Jets are in this crazy window of ‘win now’ yet still have a surprising amount of cap space. The talented prospects are coming out of the woodwork and are fighting for a spot on the club this year. Need a captain like Wheeler to guide the youth.
  4. The one with Randle’s failed ass-tackle? I thought Sayles 37 was the last one chasing on that one. Maybe a different play you’re referring to. If so... ugh yup just bad all around
  5. I still maintain that a lot of the continued weaknesses come down to roster management and less so recruitment. How many guys are rotting on the practice roster (Flanders, C.Washington) while Lankford and Wild are on the field. I mean how is Wild on the field defending 2nd and long when you’ve got Fenner playing only special teams?!
  6. Five years in and can’t find receivers? How about wondering why every year there are intriguing or exciting receiver prospects in camp (this year Corey Washington sits idle), yet our coaching staff either cuts them or strands them on the practice roster... while scrubs like Lankford get the tap on the shoulder??
  7. What the... did you just call Mike O’Shea a unicorn - with a flowing mane made of rainbows?
  8. Corey Washington or Kenbrell Thompkins please!
  9. Streveler was warming up halfway through the 4th quarter... and then Demski gifted the Argos with a fumble return TD to put them back to two possessions behind.
  10. Bit of both? The few times he got his hands on the ball he lost yards. Bad play calling plus Winnipeg defenders ready for him all game long.
  11. Great game plan eliminating Wilder Jr and passes were heavily contested more often than not. I really enjoyed seeing our defense at work in this game.
  12. I wanted to laugh and smh at the same time. Yeah we make fun of Argo attendance (rightly so), but I’m frightened for the health of this franchise, and by extension, the cfl.
  13. I am just hoping for high intensity yet sound play from the Bombers. I usually dread afternoon games as the chance of them coming out flat seems high (could be ptsd from all those LDC losses). Oh and since I’m in Edmonton and don’t have CJOB, I hope air horn guy from the Edm at TO game puts a cork in it!
  14. Man the last game of the regular season, I actually felt a little bad for Buckley. It was like the Bomber D took out a season’s worth of frustration out on the poor guy. Sacks, fumbles, interceptions AND injury. Bo standing on the sideline while they kept limp/trotting him out there like the black knight from Monty Python Too bad that’ll be his last memory as a pro football player.
  15. The way the Bombers lost this one had me hopping mad in front of my dear old parents. 17-0 at the half should have been 27-0... and 34-7 if Streveler gets the 1st down when they were on the BC 7 yard line. It was still 17-0 in the 3rd quarter when that sinking feeling just wouldn’t go away. No more run plays... just these god awful 3-5 yard passes into the flat for 2 and outs. Felt like the refs sole mission was to drag Lulay kicking and screaming into a the 4th quarter still with a chance to make a comeback. And then none of that mattered when the Jennings-Nichols Vulcan mind meld was completed. To summarize, the Bombers second half was suckier than the Lions first half, so we lost. This one made me angrier than when the Jets laid an egg in Game 3 against Minnesota this spring!
  16. I’m not so sure he’s ‘satisfied’ with being the backup, so much as he’s accepted that he doesn’t have much choice. You’re right in that odds are he’d never survive a full season as starter. It’s got to be tough seeing the game the way he does while Jennings is making a dog’s breakfast of things. If anything I’d imagine that it eats him up, but he’s also a professional who still wants to give what he has left.... with being the backup the only way to go about it.
  17. While Jennings is certainly regressing, I’m glad last night’s defensive game plan didn’t turn into a “Jennings is back!” festivus. Instead of burying Bighill into the opposing OL, Hall allowed his MLB to be the impact player we’ve all been expecting and waiting for. Having Bighill roam the middle meant more support for the db’s and more contested throws (and int’s!). It’s way more along the lines of how they should have handled the Ti-Cats. Make the guy throw from the pocket. With the talent on D qbs like Jennings and even Masoli will eventually beat themselves.
  18. Loved how the play calling allowed Streveler to get in the game with meaningful and productive reps. Finally got to see how good the short yardage + hurry up offense can be, without LeFevour screwing it up. Yeah some pretty classless shots by BC players late in the game. Wally didn’t even blink an eye. You can be sure Osh will be in his players ears about discipline and conduct.
  19. What a nasty and blatant head shot by Esks #26 on Wilder. Max fine for that, easy.
  20. I made a point of watching his brief post-game interview and wow he really did not seem right. Seemed concussed or on high doses of pain-meds. The awkward silences while he slow-blinked and searched for words was cringe-worthy. Actually a little worried for the guy’s overall well-being.
  21. Agree to disagree here. Willy has experience... but all the chances he’s had with other teams since he was traded have only confirmed that he’s a shattered shell of the qb he used to be. IMHO, Bombers are better off having moved on.
  22. I’m hoping for Okpalaugo to climb the ladder for an at-the-line INT just as Bighill pile drives Manziel cleanly...
  23. Regarding the one year contracts... the collective bargaining agreement is up for renewal after this season. Several players have said the one year contracts were Walter’s idea, so that re-signings would proceed in good faith, under the new agreement. That’s how you get elite FA’s to come to Winnipeg: contender status, strong locker room culture, and a no BS front office. In light of all this the Durant fiasco has done the most damage to Durant himself.
  24. This Vegas fan base is enthusiastic, but they’ve been handed a contender. No building no drafting or developing... no pain or heart break, no patience. It’s more spectacle than character at this point. Sounds harsh but only time will tell if this fan base is legit.
  25. Last game was such an extreme of highs and lows... from abject misery and an endless string of cursing, to untold heights of delirious joy. Here in Edmonton, I’m sure my neighbours would have called the cops, except they knew I was home watching a Jets game lol.
