Ottawa can sit on those guys until June or someone makes them a good offer. Another game of chicken for the Bombers. Anyone getting tired of getting plucked?
I understand not wanting to overpay for Burris, but consistently losing out on QB talent just shows the perception that htis organization has. It is going to be a long road out of gloom city.
-
come on we all said right from the get go that if Collaros went to Hamilton Burris would land here, why even speculate? It's the safest bloody assumption out there to say he's going to be a Bomber because the football gods like to torment me all the time.
17, I can hardly wait until the season starts with Burris as our QB. The comedic value of your posts will triple, I predict (and i mean that in a good way).

Surprise Surprise! The bombers blow another chance to get a good young up and coming QB that has shown great promise. We are a giant joke of a franchise still. Yay, way to go with our 3 rookies running our team.
Miller sure has delivered...nothing at all that is...
I'm glad I cancelled my waste of money tickets on this loser franchise
word is that Bombers and Ticats both put "starter" money out there for Collaros. What more could the Bombers do? Like other posters here, I think our reputation swayed him, not the $$$.
That's all fine and good, but we still blew another opportunity. I don' t care what the reason is/was whatever...
Come on, there are plenty of factors in play here. If the bombers were outbid I'd be upset but if he chose the Ticats and the Bombers did everything they could, what more can you ask.
That's fine for you to think that way and I have no problem with that reasoning, but... we still FAILED again and this fan is sick of it.
i don't blame you there. the constant negative results on and off the field is certainly hard on fans.

Drew Edwards said the Bombers offered more money.
Well there you go. If he is correct then what else could the Bombers do? I'll speculate - he chose the Ticats because of our reputation as a shithole of a franchise. It takes time to change that reputation.

I'll be pissed if the bomber offer was equal even. They should have outbid anyone! Would anyone sign here for the same money over Ham ?
Within reason yes, I agree. It's not like we were competing for Anthony Calvillo in his prime. There is some risk involved as he is still largely unproven.
-
I love the experts (including some here) who went from guaranteeing ZC was our starter to Burris is our starter. Some people are never wrong even when they're wrong.
But so what about this? Mike claims Zach didnt sign here because of our reputation. I find that dubious considering none of the people from the last few years are year anymore. Sounds stupid to me. The better answer is Hamilton valued him more than the Bombers.
Burris is a great QB so hopefully we land him.
Until we know what offers were made by each team, I think that the bolded is statement is just speculation. If the Bombers were outbid, then I'd really be pissed off.

Damn, I wanted him bad. Well i guess its Hank & Willy (I hope). Too bad this team's reputation is a joke.
-
Am I the only one who keeps going to this site with hope that a new Collaros signs with the Blue thread shows up?
I'm with you but I think we will have to wait if he has any NFL tryouts first.
-
I'm ok with this signing and that's all that matters. Good Day, sirs.
-
I agree - if we can pull off a Willy we should be extremely satisfied.Right now I am really hoping we can land Collaros and Willy. It would be hard to pull off since I doubt Willy wants to move to another backup spot (though he could be sold on stepping in if Collaros sucks). I was hoping Nichols would hit FA but now our options are slowly shrinking.
Got some extra time on your HANDS, KBF?

This is why willing to be open minded and give MB a chance. Trying to work with crowton's offense in the last half of the year hamstrung MB. Let's see what he can do with a full TC under his terms.HC O'Shea and Bellefeuille on OC announcement:
http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/93949?autostart=true
Some points:
- O'Shea liked that, in the interview, he noticed MB and he shared the same ideas and concepts on how an Offence should be run.
- And the way football should be played Mike: "it's like he read my notes"
- MO' expects completely different results form the O after TC and with new players.
- Marcel was interested in coming back to Wpg. - the fans, the experience and Mike O'Shea being named HC
- Mike was impressed on how MB handled last year's tough situation the fact MB has HC experience and that they connected whenever they would talk football.
- DC search is ongoing but OC was a priority due to the numbers of teams looking for one.
- OC support staff will be hired through back and forth talks between MB and MO on how they want the Offence to go.
- The offence will be an overhaul on last year's for sure. They have about 20% installed already. There will be new ideas based on what MB has learned over the last year and a half and will be flexible to who they pick up.
-
I'm not wild about this hire but I will give him a chance. A full TC with his own play book and we'll see.
-
Not surprised about Kohlert as much as it sucks. I had heard that he had little interest in re-signing here anyway.
That might explain it then.
-
Kohlert - I'm not happy. Why would they protect Poblah/Etienne over him?

Schultz is so wise.
Suggesting Ottawa takes kickers ... in a round where choosing kickers is not allowed.

I often wonder why TSN continues to employ him. He adds nothing to any broadcast.

TSN's coverage is not official as they are not capitalizing REDBLACKS.

I think that retirement is probably the only way Labbe will ever be properly appreciated. We'll notice his absence next year.
I agree. I only hope Stephan can step up and play as well as Labbe did.
-
And just in case anyone was wondering...
Pierre-Luc Labbe isn't retiring to avoid expansion draft. He's following his dad's footsteps and becoming a police officer. #Bombers
Good for him. Labbe was under appreciated in Bomberland in my opinion. Very solid depth and ST guy.

In the big picture of this being a new era for the Bombers, having a fancy pants announcement at a fancy pants hotel is pretty cool. Excited fans can hang out in the hotel lounge and "celebrate" the rest of the afternoon.
Thank you - you've just given me inspiration for my sig.
Oh and I love the choice of O'Shea, by the way.

Cincinnati Bengals @BengalsRoster move: We have signed DT Christo Bilukidi and released DT Kheeston Randall. #Bengals
Bilukidi finally catched up on the Bengals.
AWW ****. Hopefully the Bungles will draft a bunch of DTs in April.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hamilton winning on the "worst to first" theme.
On te other hand if the Riders win the cup, it will be two years in a row that the host city also won the thing .... a major statistical anomaly relative to history
it will be three years in a row. Remember the 2011 Grey Cup?
Bomber fans tend to forget that one.
Not that you and I remember a hell of a lot about those 2 days. I remember pouring my brother into a cab (lightweight) and then you and I going to find Bluto, but a lot of it is fuzzy.
Speaking of Bluto - how is he doing? Clearly devastated by the Argos fold job. didn't expect that but I wasn't surprised by the Stamps choking away another Western Final.
Bombers trade Etienne for Drew Willy, extend Willy

I'm going to wait for Wiecek's negative spin on this one. Must kill him that we made a good move.
