  1. Streveler has tons of upside...and giving up on him his stupid at best...Have to remember that he basically is in only his 4th year as a true starter...he's learning on the fly, good and bad results and is doing so while in a god awful offensive scheme with an OC who doesn't know how to utilize his players properly, and gets tunnel vision generally before going into a passive play calling mode as he has no onions...So he is a little further behind the curve than most 1st and 2nd yr guys due to that, and all things considered has done pretty well in this working environment he's in. Can't place that all on Streveler and the first step to make this a major turn around is not bringing back Lapo...plain and simple. I can see it in a lot of the offensive players attitude and body language that they are not happy in this either..Lapo's time is done Oshea I have no issue with coming back...yeah the record isn't overwhelming and play-off success has been sparse, but tossing him out really doesn't solve anything...his stubborn attitude to blind loyalty has been his major fault, and you can see on his face this last month or so he is fed up with it...hands are tied this year with the coaches cap thing, so we gotta go to dance with who brought us...but I bet next year if he gets extended...or he accepts the extension he moves on with new OC and DC Sure things have blown lately...but I am not in the camp of all the doomsayers...complainers...whatever you wanna call the people jumping off with support...play=offs are a new season and anything can happen...and if we gotta get there on the road with a couple wins...so be it....just makes it that much more satisfying.
  2. We will win..sask doesnt match up well against us..and I still think media are over rating them..why I dont know Fajardos floaters will be ripe for picking with a real DB at safety..Alexander's presence back in the lineup is huge regardless of where he lines up Also..our lines will dominate theirs again for 3rd straight game and that's where we will win it..plus we havnt played them with Harris yet..and they were lucky to get 1 win..and got blown away in their loss..I'm not concerned one bit truth be told
  3. but 6 of the run I think leads to more success than 6 of the pass....just get to the dance...and well..dance...if we gotta do it in 1 game at home..or 1 at home 1 on road..or both on road...you still gotta just do it
  4. Dline tho is at a severe disadvantage tho in frozen run game...as the oline fires first and has the edge..kind of a pick your poison scenario. Cold weather throwing and catching is more difficult then a straight hand off..and as well the rb and blockers know where they are headed...but I get and agree on your point on the route running for a receiver...but you still gotta get it there...and make catch with frozen ball...and cold paws Our reliance on the short game, and run game both tend to be effective in cold weather so either way...I like our odds
  5. but moreso the pass game too..
  6. close to 200 yards of net offence in his first game back...if that's not dominating..not sure what is...not his fault that Lapo decided to abandon him in that game
  7. Harris's first game against the Rider's...He will be very up for this and run roughshod...he always has good games against them...big factor being overlooked if you ask me Also Alexander will I bet get a pick or 2 on Fajardo's floaters he tosses up for deep shots...
  8. I always thought he was destined and built for SAM...He seems to work better in the close confine coverages...more so than out in space and having to choose his main responsibility...at SAM he will know exactly his responibilty and will add a lot more physicality than Gaitor
  9. hahaha...yup...I know the defense tho would play more in check/tune with how the game is going, and based on what the offense is trying to do..a defense doesn't have to be spoon fed what to do..especially one with experienced guys like ours..and it almost alludes a bit to what Leggett was talking about a bit....hinting that the players voices may not be heard as much, or allowing them to influence play calls to mesh with whats working/not working
  10. I'd let Bighill or whoever is the defensive captain/leader call the majority...not unheard of, and also they have a better feel for game and whats working/not and who is having certain issues that sometimes doesn't get communicated from field to sideline...and vice versa The players know the dfense..the plays...and what they are most comfortable with..they can get input from the spotters but they can make the calls based on the looks the other team is showing..sometimes like we have seen...Coordinators wayyyy over think things and don't just let the players play...especially with whats working...keep it simple...react to the plays....
  11. hopefully the removal of Hecht will solve a lot of the backend issues..as I seen it the last 2 games he offered no help anywhere in coverage and was generally out of position, or physically not able to be in position..and then tried to make up for a gaff by "trying" to lay a big hit...and failing miserably at that as well. For the better part of the first 12 games, and the beginning of the 13th the backend wasn't really that big an issue...they gave up yards at times...but minimal scores (as our points against prove) and kept teams out of endzone as a defense as a whole. those last 6 quarters??....I'm thinking (hoping) that is an anomoly and some kind of personnel issue/communication thing that has come up...teams...especially at this stage in a season just forget how to perform and suck, and also other teams don't "see" something that was hidden until now and are exploiting it...not in my experience playing and coaching Funks happen..we are seeing one now, and hopefully a healthy Jeffcoat regaining form..Alexander being back and a nice couple servings of humble pie lately will be tonic enough to get these guys pointed back in right direction....This weekend's game will go a long way in determining that
  12. He hasn't done anything really against us in 2 games this year...don't see that changing this game either
  13. So both teams then in essence are equal? ..same amount of wins, and 1 and 1 between them based on that. I don't think the Rider coaching staff is better than any other really...and all are pretty much similar, just a better person running the show in other places..and a few coordinators who are exceptional, tho I don't think the Bombers or the Rider's have exceptional coordinators by any stretch. 9 times out of 10 the team with better talent will win, and a lot of times the notion of a Head Coach being the reason for win's is a bit over played...highly over valued if you ask me. As long as a HC isn't prone to continually making boneheaded decisions, and knows the CFL game and intricacies...then you should have no real issues
  14. adding a walking band-aide who hasn't been a force the last 2 years, and has played hardly any consistant ball since mid 2017 doesn;t strengthen anything
  15. the time spent in Regina probably made him think all Canadian markets were crapholes like that..I wouldn't wanna come here either if that was the norm lol
  16. Having Alexander back in secondary will be huge and especially at safety, as Hecht has shown he is not pro-caliber there. Especially since the last 2 weeks we have been deemed very porous in the middle deep third, so teams may be planning for that, but having an athletic "experienced leader" there now may prove to be pretty bountiful this week as Fajardo's balls deeper down the field are very pickable. Gaitor I think has been knicked for a few weeks now and has been beaten pretty badly last few games, so sitting him for whomever...even if it is Rios who has looked suspect last couple games will be a positive...I think he is better suited for that spot anyway and may have been a victim of Hecht and the communication issues...guess we will see if this safety switch changes things..I think it is gonna As for Strev..he did what he could and his play wasn't the teams downfall..and maybe now lapo will see he can push ball downfield if need be, but not make him have to sit back there and prove it over and over...just let him play his game that he did previously against the Rider's and we will be just fine. Hamilton is somewhat under estimated for some reason and even without Masolli are a top 1 team in the league and their coaching staff make them even stronger.....They are a far superior team to the Rider's in all areas, and I expect a similar game against them as the first 2, and us walking away with another win against them, and it being a game where we never were really in any fear of losing...
  17. not sure why but that makes me chuckle
  18. That is in a sense Strevelers check down...something Nichols didn't bring, so Streveler has 2 check down options...if he shows like he may run, people are gonna converge on him, and if he can get that ball out to Harris...then there will be big yards to be gained
  19. I DO hahahah
  20. We have 5 games to fine tune Streveler now...knowing he is the man for the year...those games, coupled with the progress he's shown in the last 3 starts will do wonders for him...he will have by then seen what he needs to see...probably had a few learning moments, but also find his areas he can exploit too...I don't think he has the make-up to falter, and not be successful and he will do whatever he has to...will be if anything fun to witness I also think as well come cold playoff weather time his style of play, and the threat to run he is gonna have teams cheating on will really open up other things for him...that he will have seen and figured out how to take advantage of...for all his brute power and what seems like reckless abandon...he is also uber smart, and from reports here, and in College he learns fast and basically picks up a correction in one try...you show him..tell him..coach him..or he learns via an error...he rarely goes back to the same gaff
  21. Nor am I.. but to have a true world wide headline type act is a positive any way u slice it
  22. McGuire showed and seemed to have nice pocket presence and the ability and comfort to sit in pocket..and make throws..all of which he showed he has arm for. Hopefully if there any games where we are up..we get him game time reps. Hate to make it to grey cup again with another Dinwiddie scenario..mind u McGuire has a gun and can do things with his passing that dinwiddie would only dream of
  23. I dont..save for Ottawa and possibly T.O if they dont trade Franklin indeed them as the only teams who will be in a starter hunt..and they prob both go hard at Arbuckle. There's no real place he can beat out a current starter in place.. his options are limited..and nobody is gonna pay 500k let alone prob 300k now coming off surgery with no guarantee he is still capable
  24. For his experience solely.. and he can run our offence as it is now really..prob quite well if he had to
