  1. but....we dont know who they plan to bring in to camp...maybe they have a guy...or 2 who "verbally" committed if nothing pans out by TC for them...You do recall that Stove was added...what the week before camp....I'm almost thinking days before actually as thats what he was doing...unheralded and hardly mentioned...but it panned out well....so hard to judge until we see complete camp roster And hey....after we see how all we have developed after another camp...maybe we swing a trade...crazier things have happened...some team may sustain an injury and need a body...and we may have one worth dealing Don't underestimate Hansen's presence back this yr either, he is a more than adequate rotation piece to give our guys in game rest, and has lined up inside and out I not worried about the secondary in the least, its a good mix of young guys, and vets, none of whom is overly old, and not worried about Rose either. Lawrence was a right steal last year and after a full camp will be one of the top corners in the league this yr. I wanna see tho a new stud heat seeking missile DI Linebacker, and back to the main issue...we need at the very least, and stud DT who moves bodies and takes up a lot of attention...we have that...we be top 1...2 defense in league again, as based on the offence..they are gonna get a lot of time to rest on sidelines and not get bagged out
  2. I'm sure Hansen will play prominent rotation role...he was very effective and key in that role in the previous cup runs I'm not concerned in the least with Lawrence..was injured in Ham a bit..then with the odd use of what they had he was much like Darby ..a guy more than good enough..yet not used properly
  3. I can't per say comment on details.. I just knew he was gonna be back
  4. And I also doubt Bailey went from 130k to 90k...if anything he may have took a slight shave...that Rider pbp guy tho is a right tool...and should be held accountable..or canned by that turd organization for speeding false aquasations. And accept the fact players will only go there for way over market value. And sometimes even that isn't enough.. they are trash thru and thru
  5. I supposed to get mine replaced...well they told me that 10 yrs ago...been holding off...dropped 30 pounds or so of playing weight and eleviated some the discomfort...but was wondering the wait time..u in Winnipeg?
  6. haha....all kicks are straight and true.....didnt you know that??
  7. Yeah MBT was very hit and miss...more miss than hit...and prob last guy you would want mentoring a new to the CFL QB.. Kelly will be as raw as raw can be...and is gonna struggle once teams see a few games of him as the full time starter And man if he falters...or gets hurt...who's behind him?? They gonna be in a world of hurt..and is Harris the lead back there too this yr? Ouch
  8. Kicking unit missed it, as there was a missed block....resulting in a blocked kick...team effort...just as when a kick is made....you have protection....good snap...good placement by holder allowing the kicker to not deviate from his timing/method....was ball cockeyed on tee....were laces wrong way....did holder get it down and set a milli second too slow?....lotsa factors have to be ideal. Almost prefect to make a kick, and slight issues from this 9 times outta ten have bad results.....people take for granted each FG/Convert attempt every game and the precision that goes into it....but when a kick is missed the kicker carries the burden....sure there are times when it is 100% a blatant pooch job by the kicker, but many times it's a combination of, or a particular miscue that throws it all off In the Grey Cup we dont know the result, as one glaring miscue (missed block) made it huge catastrophic error.....The miss vs Montreal on the flip side, to win that game was a bad kick...plain and simple...just as the long range one versus the Riders was a perfect one....it happens If anything and blame finger pointing/bitching about a player should be done it should be right at our QB's feet as that was the reason we lost, and don't hear the pundits crying for a guy to come in and challenge...take his job...That being said any other game save for the Grey Cup or West Final he would never have seen the field, but we went with the horse who brought us there even though he was severely limited in what he could do...but hats off to ZC for gutting it out and doing his best...but that right there was reason we lost...
  9. yeah not too sold on it being a sure miss....watch any field goal...especially ones in conditions...ball rarely is a straight line....and u adjust for conditions....I think if Sayles makes that block...we are sipping on the 3 peat....my opinion but I have seen a lot of field goals both from being on the field and in the stands, and on T.V and you can't say it was gonna miss....or be made for certainty....but if not blocked...I feel like it was going thru....at worst through the endzone
  10. Yeah...that will be a one and done yr again..nobody cares...and nobody is gonna wanna hemorrhage money running it
  11. As per Craig Dickenson: Last week the Riders added another Canadian receiver to their arsenal with the signing of Juwan Brescacin and Dickenson believes that he was an under the radar type of signing. “Not too many years ago he was thought of maybe the best Canadian receiver on Calgary’s roster. ” Back in 2018, Brescacin had 35 receptions for 567 receiving yards and three touchdowns with Calgary. Another former Stampeder, the Roughriders have high hopes this season is Shawn Bane Jr. Dickenson said they plan to use him in a similar role that was occupied by Kyran Moore in 2022. “An inside receiver position where he can get balls on handoffs, he can run vertical routes and clear the tops. ” The biggest free agent signing for the Roughriders at wide receiver was Jake Wieneke. Even though he is a newcomer to the green and white, Dickenson thinks the former Alouette will make a seamless transition to Saskatchewan. Does he not realize 2018...was like 5 yrs ago?....and their is a reason KSB didnt get a sniff, and Lenius barely got his cleats tied before he was set free?...from the article boasting how he likes the thought of his Canadian receivers and the big fish they added...Jake W....that he has amassed a real sad sack group, with very little upside?....my oh my....can't wait to read his O-line musings next
  12. That right there would have been the only quick fix they could have made...costly, at expense of pretty much anything else of value...tho they didnt really pay a proper amount as is for value...over payed for average value....so guess that is sorta moot....but was never gonna happen landing 3 oline studs who would have instantly put them in top 4 olines in league...sucks to be them
  13. At minimum to fix their situ...and all on 2-3 yr deals...they signed 3...one was a PR journeyman we ditched...one an aging in decline last yr likely stop gap...and another from B.C who is average at best and likely hit his peak...epic fail Basically their whole compliment of import starting receivers are gone..they lost 2 Canadian ones...mind you they weren't any good..but still depth...signed a second tier receiver in Jake W ...Brescasin who is meh and a bandaid and Bane outta CGY...who is nothing as of yet... potential sure...but it may not materialize in that system. Toss in a rookie OC...likely trying to install a new system with a new QB...oldest and least mobile in the league...who has history of showing he wilts under pressure...now behind what is likely worst online in league...again...and ho hum gosh they tried hard HC running the show...yup...I like their chances...chances to maybe match last yrs wins if they are lucky
  14. Don't hate the dude...he's average now..but when you trying to rebuild..and gain some consistency then going after a dude in his last yr likely and not a long term answer isn't prob not the smart way to go about it...
  15. win and lose as a team....and will be same this yr as well....if he is a direct result in losses...multiple losses....from extremely bad kicks...multiple in multiple games...he will be replaced...until then we will roll with him and let him develop likely into a top kicker who handles all duties
  16. hahahaha......I have to agree there, but he can run around and get the odd first down that the Harris wont get
  17. Yeah....In all honesty I would rather have Clark over Godber....and Blake?....how does that make them better?.....Old immobile Harris....behind that oline is probably a down grade from the FAJ as the running with head cut off first downs they got before just evaporated. And that receiving group wont scare....anybody....like who there is a threat to take one to the house from anywhere on the field?...I don't see anyone.....where we have what...3 guys minimum who are gonna be a threat to score from anywhere They signed some holdovers on defence...that didnt get it donelast yr....One with questionable training habits/health where they needed to add a TC bonus to come in....healthy??...signed an old declining Johnson...and let the younger Linebacker go...albeit a 1 trick pony, but kept 35 yr old Dean...yeah....great off-season Oday
  18. Lol...what else he gonna say as it was his only real option outside of mtl
  19. https://3downnation.com/2023/02/20/new-montreal-receiver-greg-ellingson-cody-fajardo-jason-maas-caused-him-to-pick-alouettes-over-riders/ I read that as another kick to the onions to the Riders, and Ellingson's polite way of saying "dont like whats going on there, nor do I want to be there" Same with Moore saying he "wanted to see what it was like on the other side" That organization just blows...and lame duck coach/gm combo aint helping them
  20. Yeah...they fail to mention that it was one of their own when the chirp about that
  21. Agreed...when healthy I'd say Jeffcoat is the best all around end...let's see how this yr pans out...but I bet if he is out for extended time again this yr we let him walk in 2024 I also still think we see a kongbo reappearance this summer too ..which would be huge
  22. Leggz has improved each yr..and u have to remember he was what ..a 23 yr old kid when he arrived..and was basically tossed right into the fray ..I not overly concerned with the kicking game...let's revisit after game 6 before we start calling for his head Pretty sure we will have adequate d-tackle competition in camp this yr...we are quite set at db save for injuries and I would guess our starting 6 are already set...and we also have some prospects signed ..so that whopping amount we had last couple yrs when we were needing to replace 2..3..starters isn't an issue...so bring in the beef.
