Toronto also makes sense if we were to develop a 3 way trade with an experienced backup coming our way as part of the compensation.

I think Montreal would be a good fit for Willy and the Bombers. We get Glenn and ? in return. Win/Win.

Chiles was cut because he sucked this year so far. Yea...he had the 3 TDs...none were over 8 yards though. Other than that a very pedestrian 40 yard average per game as the number 2 receiver. Pass....

That's probably the same reason Durant was fined for a "uniform violation".
Probably something along those lines...or something he wore on the sidelines perhaps. That falls under the league's policy as well.

Thought Johnson struggled to start the year but since his injury he's been solid. Fogg got beat pretty huge last week tho but he played well besides that. Don't really recall Johnson getting picked on much
Johnson has been excellent since returning from injury. Very solid. I was a guy who was on the fence about him last year and earlier this year, but he has really stepped up lately. That is why I am not flogging a secondary that puts Randle/Adams in his spot as an easy solution to our plethora of DBs.

why would you sit a player who is playing well though? in my mind its what have you done for me lately and being injured isn't a hell of a lot.
You dress Adams and rotate him in and see if he is the same player he was prior to injury. If he is, then you give him the job. Actually, it will mean he has taken the job straight up. Then you look to extend him and start talking contract extension. We have Fredericks on a 2 year deal, he will get his chance in the secondary.
If the plan is just to roll with Fredericks then we should try unload Adams for a draft pick or useful player elsewhere and get some value from Adams. He would be highly coveted at his age and ability level.

We should boycott the game. No Bombers fans at the LDC and the Riders will be in so much financial trouble that they probably won't be able to afford Durant next year.
Man that sure sounds silly when you turn tables...yet that is exactly what Rider fans were suggesting last week they should do to Calgary...and they thought it might work.
Another whopper was about a 3 page conversation about how the Riders have the 2nd best receiving corps in the CFL. THE 2nd BEST RECEIVING CORPS? Delusional.

Johnny Adams is an all star DB. If you don't play him when he's healthy then you should trade him. Sitting him is crazy talk.

Alouettes set to release Vaughn Martin according to Justin Dunk
Not surprising....big contract and poor performance.

The Bombers are for real so far as being able to honestly compete with all the teams in the CFL now. Are they Grey Cup contenders....I don't think so. However, they should be considered a strong contender for a playoff spot and definitely have the ability to upset teams if they don't give us their 100% in opposition. That is a big step up for us over the last couple years imo.

Anyone is better than Francis
if you are rolling out Hecht into your starting lineup because he is better than what you already have you are in deep, deep Can-Con trouble.

Bennett seems like an upgrade for the Riders, Hecht not so much.
I'm not sure he is. He was getting torched badly before he was sat down and appears to have lost a step.

Money from merchandise sold at the Riders stores goes to the Riders. Ticket sales for each game are split between the 2 teams iirc (not sure what the split is). The thing is a lot of Rider fans think that when the Riders are on the road that half of the tickets for the game are bought by Rider fans.
Some clown over at Riderfans was suggesting that they should all boycott the next Riders game in Calgary and then see how happy Mitchell is when the Stamps can't afford to pay his salary.

What they really don't understand is that if they hadn't been flaunting so many rules and being fined already then they probably would have been warned about that. But when you put the target on your back and the league rules won't let the league really come down on you for the big things then you better believe that you don't get any benefit of the doubt for the little things. The Riders are going to be watched like a hawk from the league as long as Jones is there being his dickhead self and there is no leeway from the league for anything when it comes to the Riders. They are the problem child and they will be disciplined for absolutely everything because of past bad behaviour.
I can tell you sure as ****, that Mr. Orridge is taking his marching orders on this from the collective of ownership around the league. They have been playing fast and loose with the league's internally policed honor system. You don't go poaching other teams entire coaching staffs during Grey Cup week, you don't go tampering with players, you don't try to buy a winner by setting up a competitive advantage outside the boundaries of the rules, and you most certainly don't give off the appearance that you don't give a **** while you're doing it.
Orridge gave them a ***** slap. Does anyone truly believe that it wasn't orchestrated by the rest of the league's owners? Riderfans may not like it but this was the warning shot across the bow from the rest of the league. Start acting with some dignity and class or the rest of the league will put the screws to you.

Pretty insular world, this......
They sure sound batshit crazy don' they? You have to wonder where they come up with this, until you read an article by their most respected journalist and he is clearly the ring leader.

After everything that has happened the past couple of weeks, the majority of posts over on Riderfans are talking about how the CFL, not the Riders organization, looks like a joke in all of this.
It is actually amazing to watch.
As for Pederson, have you ever seen another member of the media refer to "we" and "us" in reference to the team they are covering?
Can you blame that fan base for being so out to lunch. Their journalists are cheer leaders that openly fellate the team, and provide completely unrealisitic, untrue, and openly stupid commentary. So sad.
Over on Riderfans they are fellating themselves as the "flagship" franchise in the league with undying fan support. The reason given....we make the most money and are propping up the whole league. Ummmmm.....last year you LOST 4.3 million dollars. Can't see their uber competitive team they are fielding this year providing any more of a profit. A year or two away from telethons again. I guess now it would be a GoFundMe campaign I suppose.
What is the worst in all of this is that they are trying to circumvent an SMS that was designed to keep them from folding, and is STILL keeping them from folding. As much as the Riders would like to believe that they can run with the big dogs, in a non-SMS reality they would be crushed under by the Wetenhalls and Bob Youngs of the league. It's laughable when they equate profits to their ability to outspend other teams. This league has owners that piss away more money in a day than the Riders make in a year.

The Riders have won 5 games out of their last 31 games. There are problems is Riderville. Big problems. Systemic problems. They are a gong show right now that is easily on par with the gong show we witnessed when Kelly was here. Just watch the mass exodus of players coming this offseason. Players are going to run for the hills away from them.

The only problem I have with the Mulumba pick is in hindsight. At the time Mack chose him, he was considered an extreme longshot to get anything more than a quick cup of coffee at an NFL camp. I personally am still of the belief that had Mack been our GM that his buddy Dom Capers would have released Mulumba as a favor to Mack.

To be clear - Gary Lawless said on the radio last night that they're not actually done the part of the investigation related to the Riders paying unrostered players under the table. And to me, that's the biggest offense of all. So more punishments could be coming.
Well if supplementary discipline is yet to come, I hope they get it right this time, and teach them and Jones a lesson they will not forget. I would love to see Jones suspended from CFL football operations for a couple weeks by the league. Not even allowed to call the office to see if he forgot his hemorrhoid cushion there.

Ripper wants the whole league investigated? I have no problem with that so long as some credible evidence or accusation against another team is made first. This isn't and can't be turned into a league wide witch hunt because the Riders got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. An investigation like this, if done properly, will take weeks to complete and will cost a lot of money. Is it fair? Yes it's fair. When an allegation is made against one team that is what should be investigated, not a league wide witch hunt. If the Riders have some credible evidence to support that other teams are doing the same, in the course of them being investigated they can bring that forward and the league can investigate the other team or teams on the basis of their accusation.
Ripper this isn't about what other teams are doing. This is about what the Riders are doing. They are the ones who have some explaining to do....and it's looking more and more like the Riders are going to go down HARD for this.

Couple of thoughts on the original post and other sentiments on here. First off, all message boards are dominated by the more active users. Just stands to reason. Secondly, I agree with Noeller that TEP is in dire need of an update. To whoever said they only saw a couple active posters at TEP...???? It's the most active of the Bomber forums currently. Lastly, both the TEP and here are quality Bomber sites with many of the same members going back and forth. I see no reason for either forum, or it's members, to whip out their wieners and try to measure which one is the best. Kind of stupid. Especially when nonsense gets tossed around like no one posts at TEP but a couple of people, or everyone at MBB are bullies. Just stupid.

Dressler is a great player but has his limitations. Salary factored in we are a better team without him here. Collins has been very good since day one of camp, highly doubt anything is going to change. He has serious speed also. He and Chiles are both very fast and big, big plus to us this year over what we had. I respect Westons time here and he will be remembered fondly but things are now how they were meant to be.
If I had a dollar for every receiver that had a breakout game then fell off the face of the earth afterwards I would be a rich guy. Why? Because opposing defences get film on them, gameplan accordingly and shut them down. Not saying that will be the case with Collins...who knows....however, I wouldn't order his plaque in the plazoo quite yet. One of the big reasons he got let go from here after mini camp was that he had a bad case of the dropsies. That is something that may sneak back into his game as well, as it is even mentioned in his scouting report.

So my brother lives in Toronto (problem #1) and has always enjoyed the NFL, enough so that he plays fantasy football every year. I have always plugged the CFL, but he finds it less exciting, and picks out the flaws in the game (to be fair, they certainly exist) and the league in general. So with the Argos move to BMO he says he is willing to really give the game a try. However, he has noted that some games he has seen (Calgary-Ottawa the latest) have real dull stretches in them, and a game he sees some promise in (Edmonton-Sask) is on too late for him to stick it out to the end. His big beef is with how the league markets itself (and I've told him if you compare to the NFL all the time, anything will look lousy). He says he simply wants some competency. Two examples he cites are the new jersey launch and the CFL website. He can't believe the league would launch a new look jersey for each team, and have one team (*cough* Bombers) not have the jersey available for purchase at the time if the launch. Secondly, he goes to the cfl.ca website the morning after the game and still does not see updated standings or even proper game stats for the match. I can't really argue against either of those flaws, but any suggestions on how to convince him that this game is worth getting behind? He says he wants to give it a fair shot, but wonders if being in Toronto where no one would care enough (even on the league website) is the problem, or is it a deeper problem with the game experience itself?
Any suggestions on how to convert this lukewarm new fan and sell him on what the CFL has to offer? What is the best argument someone would have?
Tell your brother that the CFL doesn't need to be a replacement for his love of the NFL, it can be a supplement to it. However, based on your post it sure sounds like your brother has got a lot of bias against the CFL so I am not sure he will ever like the game. None of the reasons listed above are a good reason to not like our game. Petty criticisms.
