  1. The polling atm suggest otherwise. You are dreaming if you think the Liberals have a crushing victory. The very best outcome they can hope for is a 1 or 2 seat majority. That would be a stellar outcome for them if recent polls are any indicator. Not federally. Alberta HATES the Liberals and especially a Lib party led by a Trudeau. That ain't gonna change. When Scheer beat him that all but sealed the deal on his political future in the CPC. He was too far right even for the Reform side of the party.
  2. Some crazies may vote for them but not enough. It will be a blue clean sweep in Alberta again. People who voted Conservative last time because they didn't like Trudeau aren't likely to have changed their mind after another scandal ridden two years. Those who turned away from the Liberals last time have not been given any reason to come back. Wishful thinking that Trudeau can recapture his entire fan base. If people vote Liberal it will rely on the strength of their campaign or the weakness of the CPC campaign. People who dislike Trudeau really dislike him.
  3. Well we likely end up with a Liberal minority again and another election in a year or two. Trudeau's majority is just blocked right now by the BQ imo. They should have elected Peter Mackay. He could win this thing. Just too much of the old Reform party still playing too big a role in this party.
  4. The Rider OL, and DL for that matter, have had the pleasure of playing two of the weakest teams in the trenches so far this year. Hamilton's DL is almost non existent and their OL is definitely a lot worse than 2019. BC's DL is not their strength by any stretch of the imagination, and their DL is below average. I will give Sask full credit for their victories this year but I still think their OL and DL are 2nd rate and will be exposed when they play the teams that are good in the trenches. I really don't see them being able to compete in the trenches with us, Argos, or Montreal.
  5. I couldn't give a rats ass how many receivers or DBs other teams brought in and neither should you. It is completely irrelevant. Other teams have holes to fill in their LBer, DL, OL, RB, and NAT component that we quite frankly don't have. Calgary and BC are the examples you give? They CAN'T bring in 20+ receivers because they have too many holes to fill throughout their lineup that we don't have. The fact we took a targeted approach to the positions of receiver and DB is because these are the skill positions on a football field and quite frankly where the gamebreakers are mostly found. When you have a solid crew in the trenches and LBer crew it allows you the luxury of bringing in more at the skill positions so that you have a better chance of finding a superstar in the making. None of that means the Bombers are unhappy or worried about their incumbents.
  6. This is particularly true at the skill positions. If you are not turning over every stone for the next Milt Stegall you are not going to find him. Bringing in a ton of skill every year doesn't mean you are unhappy with your roster but every team is ALWAYS looking for the next CFL superstar at every position. You would be monumentally stupid to not bring in as many top notch recruits as you can. For many years our greatest needs were receiver talent so it stands to reason we have an extensive list provided to us by the scouts. The fact that so many are available to us right now, and the fact that our DL, LBer, and OL is locked in with allstars, is why we have brought in so many. TB is overthinking it. When the top guys on your neg list, or scouting sessions agree to come North you bring them in. It should come as no surprise that this year it is receivers and DBs with 2 years of college graduates and the XFL folding.
  7. DBs and Receivers always dominate TC rosters on every CFL team. They are the two positions with the highest turnover and highest number of positions to fill in the CFL. Bringing in 20 receivers is simply a symptom of having an extended TC capacity and a unique covid protocol in place that may deplete rosters. It in no way indicates the Bombers are unhappy with any of the incumbent receivers. In a normal year TB may have a point but it is unlikely this is going to be a normal year, having extended looks at several players that are playing skill positions is necessary this year because depth is going to be paramount to success when covid protocols cause roster chaos.
  8. Last I saw of Nate he was over at the Stamps forum because he had gotten kicked off Riderfans. He may be in CFL forum purgatory right now...he was running out of runway.
  9. When you have Harris sucking up 50% of the offensive touches and Demski who is also a great ball control threat it tends to drastically decrease the touches for the wideouts and slots in the medium to long routes. I suspect that this year the Bombers are looking to decrease Harris's workload and that this will pay dividends for Lawler and Adams. The 3rd IMP spot is Bailey's to lose but definitely the Bombers have to be looking hard to see if they can get a bonafide game breaker in camp. Why wouldn't they. Doesn't mean they are unhappy with Bailey, just means that every player group has a guy that you wanna push in camp and maybe even replace if scouting has done a great job. Pretty sure he meant Mitchell.
  10. You have to keep Grant. He was the best KR/PR in the league once he took over. Nelson has to earn his way as a receiver.
  11. You don't like Bailey, Whitehead and Lawler as good recruits in 2019? Up until last year I would have agreed with you but I thought our recruitment in 2019 at receiver was the best we've seen in years.
  12. Willie Jefferson says he didn't even notice the smoke. Thought it was from inside his car...lmao
  13. Antigha played some reps at SAM with the Riders but they were mostly situational. Imo, he is not a full time solution for the position. I hope you are right about Alexander at SAM because that seems to be the logic behind acquiring Darby. Crapigna was actually pretty good after a rocky start to his career.
  14. I really don't mind Crapigna doing the FG duties this year and providing a year of mentorship for Legs. Alexander is not built to take on RBs though. I would worry about his durability at SAM. Great cover guy and tackler though don't get me wrong. Should have said not the most physically imposing guy. I wouldn't want Antigha in there on every play but he could certainly rotate in, particularly on 2nd and short etc when there is a higher probability of a running play.
  15. Making the club from the tub doesn't really apply to a guy that's been here for a few years. He made the club a long time ago, the Bombers know what they have in Augustine. It will be up to Oliveira and Borsa (to some extent although I see Borsa more as a Demski type) to demonstrate they are a better option. Augustine is a proven reliable back up capable of carrying the rock when called upon. It's his job to lose and the others must take it from him. Him being injured right now does not change that.
  16. Alexander to SAM is definitely a possibility. He's not the worlds most physical guy though so I guess we'll see. Rose and Sayles were fantastic ball hawks last year but they benefitted from a premium pass rush. Our DL this year may be even scarier in pass rush. I expect the boundary, whoever it may be, will be ball hawking again as QBs throw errant balls in terror. Word to the wise....this is going to be Jonathan Kongbo's coming out party this year. That guy is a freak of nature. Yes....he must have had a poor camp and Rocquemore took advantage of his reps and made an impression. Air...pfft....bunch of sissies.
  17. I agree on Lawler probably emerging as a 1000 yard guy. Purifoy is a decent defender but certainly not among the league's best but he did play well for you guys last year. Agreed. Bailey flashed some good skills at times last year, if he can become more consistent he can be a playmaker.
  18. I am a bit out of the loop on following camp but has Harris actually attended TC since being shut down? Covid protocols are 2 weeks so just wondering if that might be a possibility.
  19. I'm not worried about AH in the least. At least not yet. He probably is a tiny bit nicked up and the Bombers are shelving him out of an abundance of caution. He really has nothing to prove in TC why risk injury. Is MOS being dishonest saying it's all about assessing who will be behind him? Not really....that's going to be one of the toughest calls in TC imo. We realistically can't keep all 3 of Borsa, Augustine, and Oliveira and each guy is really talented and will be a big part of our succession plan for Harris. The Bombers could really lose the next Andrew Harris if they choose incorrectly and there is no game action to see them under fire before the decision has to be made. Assessing their reps is going to be vital. Now don't get me wrong, it's doubtful we are sitting Harris solely for that reason but I am sure it was a factor as to the approach they are choosing to take with AH right now.
  20. Me too, maybe not as altruistically as you are, but me too. My motives are selfish. I want him to be completely recovered from his NFL injury because he was a darn good receiver in the best league in the world. If he can recover that....we may have a game breaking WR. Not me...I pretty much covered all my bases in that regard but I would happily go back for round 2.
  21. Top sports moment of my life. Dont care about the logistics of how it happened
  22. This would be monumentally bad for the CFL. Our TV deal would be seriously affected if Toronto goes.
  23. Jersey yes....cross bar no....all the crossbar did was save Fajardo from throwing a season ending interception.
  24. Sportsnet has absolutely no right to talk about anything CFL. PERIOD. They are much more of the problem with the CFL then the fans ever will be. If anyone needs to put up or shut up when it comes to the CFL it's Sportsnet.
  25. I am sure that Ed has his pencils sharpened already.
