And Houston is better that Parker, who also busted numerous coverages. However, we have seen good games by all of them. Just not in the Grey Cup. 160k to 170k sounds about right.

That is a possibility, but so is Kevin Glenn/Stefan Lefors a possibility too. I think it would be wholly irresponsible to just toss out a Collaros and move onto Brown. Could be a fatal move to our competitiveness. Collaros gives us a couple more years of great QBing that is money in the bank. We don't know with certainty what Brown would give us.

Not buying it. Guys who busted coverages on the last drive were not playing out of position or moved anywhere, They were in their proper positions. They just blew it.

Don't get me wrong, Walters had no in-season CIS scouting ability and we were very hamstrung because of that but he was the guy whispering in Mack's ear regarding the 2011, 2012 drafts. Getting Goveia was massive for us, and Walters being able to scout in-season. That's when our drafts started turning around. Prior to that it was just anyone's best guess really and Walters, although he held a lot of influence over our drafting was really doing so with one hand tied behind his back.

Not true. Kyle Walters was our NAT talent scout even under Mack and Moll. Kyle took on those duties in 2011 according to the Winnipeg Free Press article about it. He was scouting for us prior to his 2012 AGM/DCT appointment but it was limited to the offseason. Walters was very happy when he took on the AGM spot because he could now take on the NAT scouting full time instead of seasonal. That was his exact sentiment in the Free Press. Found this for clarity on his role as Canadian College Draft Coordinator beginning in 2011: Blue Bombers Appoint Kyle Walters as Assistant General Manager and Director of Canadian Scouting - OurSports Central

Rose should have been on for Parker anyway. We had numerous busts in coverage throughout the game, hell there was one on the 3rd and 5 made by Parker. Rose was our guy that sorted all that out pre-snap. Benching him in favor of Parker the last few games was a little odd imo. Yep, that's how it goes when you are at the top of the pile.

I agree. Holms will be weighed on his play measurables though. His speed and ability to cut are probably NFL calibre. I could see him getting a shot down there. Totally agree. Of course, I really want BO back, but if not there are some intriguing options out there such as Mills. Mills at much cheaper probably lets us keep Schoen as well so to me it is not the end of the world if Oliveira leaves.

Haven't watched him a whole lot to be honest. Can't honestly say that I have watched the Argos much at all in the past few years. Does that make me an Argo fan?
-
Not me. There were some behavioral and locker room issues with Oakman in TO this year.

I realize we play match coverage but you will normally always see the safety taking that coverage beyond 10-15 yards if the play continues vertically. You will almost never see the MIKE with the primary coverage beyond the 10-12 range when it goes vertical. Alexander definitely busted on that.

I was not a big fan of passing the ball to anyone. Wanted to see Brady ball right there. It was a poor read, no doubt about. It was also a piss poor play call imo.

I love a healthy Biggie, but he has to be 100% these days. Not because he is a huge detriment if he isn't, but because at this point of his career the guy sitting behind him on the DC is a better player than him if he's not 100. Out of all the guys (Schoen, Bailey, Demski, Hardrick) that were playing injured he was the one that MOS screwed up on.

2019 will forever be hailed by me as the greatest Bomber season I remember well, it will also be hailed as the most bush league GC broadcast of all time. The Keith Urban calling the game fiasco was just embarrassing really. Of course he didn't. A MIKE never does in man coverage. Who else is there really?
-
If Brady leaves there are a ton of good options for IMP RBs that would probably excel behind our OL. RB is the least of my worries. I love BO but his magical season was greatly enhance by the OL blocking for him, and I would think that there are a ton of FA RBs drooling at the prospect of coming to play behind our OL. Calgary has 3 really good RBs, for instance, can't keep them all.

We have dropped Biggie into coverage in zone, but I can't ever recall a single instance we asked our MLB to cover man against a receiver. It's never done because it is a massive mismatch. I'm not sticking up for Biggie, he looks like he needs to join the coaching staff now. Just saying that if a DC is putting his MIKE....and I don't care who that MIKE is or how old...into a man coverage responsibility it is going to be very bad for that defence. Completely unrealistic to expect a MLB to cover a receiver in man.

I have absolutely no doubt we keep him. Just not as a player.

Call it what you want … you need to move on from Collaros

Sorry for the double post, couldn't type into the first one for some reason. According to the Toronto beat writers Agudosi asked for his release from the Bombers. -

Roster management or not, and this is absolutely undeniable, we were in fantastic position to win that game if we simply don`t let Fajardo beat us on a last minute drive. Guys on here can scream until they are blue in the face about coaching, or Zac`s play, or roster management and none of that mattered at that point. None. It came down to poor coverage to allow a 30 yard gain on 3rd and 5, and to let CoFaj scamper for 13 the play before. All the other **** is just white noise as to why we lost that game. It was there for the taking and our D crapped the bed in the final minute. We allowed a CoFaj offence to drive 83 yards to win that game. Biggie cost us nothing in that drive, nor did Zac, the receivers or anything else. Just people trying to set their agendas now by overlooking the obvious fact that our roster, no matter how banged up, was good enough for 59 minutes of that game and our own mistakes lost us that game. It hurt us, but it is not why we lost. We still could have should have and were in position to win that game. I guess we can all second guess now, but is Ambles on a couple weeks learning curve better than Bailey or Schoen at 80%, is BOLO better than Demski at 80%....pretty easy to pick the carcass now but I am not sure I make a different decision receiver wise. Biggie was the big mistake because Clements had clearly demonstrated he could fill that gap easily if Biggie wasn`t absolutely 100. -

Talking about injuries on offence not defence. No one is giving the D a free pass. You take Bailey, Schoen, and Demski out of your lineup and replace the with a healthy McCrae, Grant, and BOLO and things wouldn't have gone much better and that's not a knock on those 3 guys. That is just an enormous hill to climb. Brady was being spied all game long coming out of the back field. We tried moving him into the flats quite a bit if you watch the replay, they covered him well....and yes, and injury can definitely prevent you from making play. That's kind of exactly what happened actually. Look when a receiver is unable to make certain cuts, or run certain routes, DBs figure that out really quickly and it gives them a big advantage. The kind of advantage that results in interceptions if Zac tries to push the issue. Where Buck's game plan really sucked was in not stretching the field sideline to sideline and that is where the usage of Grant and McCrae could have benefitted us the most. Might have given our banged up guys a bit more space to operate, and when you have an LBI you need that room. At the end of the day though, 3 red zone turnovers took points of the board. BO's fumble and 2 INTs. We clean that up and we would have hung 35 on them. We actually drove the ball decently considering.
