  1. I really wish Bombers had been able to keep Brown and had somehow dealt Collaros. But I guess Zach is at the point in the life of his contract, with possibly some guarantees, that made that impossible. The problem is that Zach is 35 and has developed happy feet - starts to scramble early and throws with a hint of desperation. Brown looked more poised when he came in last season and definitely throws a more accurate ball. It'll be interesting to see how pass pro goes this season with changes on the Oline. There will be tweaks and adjustments, no doubt. Hoping Collaros can stay healthy but ... I think Strevy could end up starting for us sooner rather than later.
  2. Since we're talking memorabilia, here's a jersey that claims to be a game worn Leo Lewis 1958 Grey Cup game jersey. There's a letter of authentication but it means nothing, just says that the jersey looks like one Lewis wore at the time. There is no provenance outlining the chain of ownership etc so I'd be wary. I think it was for sale, or one like it, couple years ago for around the same asking price. Looks cool though: https://glorydayscollectibles.com/products/1958-leo-lewis-grey-cup-championship-game-worn-winnipeg-blue-bombers-jersey-loa
  3. Are you suggesting criminal harrassment? I'm no lawyer but that is a form of harassment that crosses a very specific line. I don't know that that has been alleged and don't believe the cops are involved in this yet ...
  4. Stamps GM Dave Dickenson hires his brother as a consultant https://3downnation.com/2024/02/23/former-riders-head-coach-craig-dickenson-hired-by-brother-dave-as-consultant-with-stampeders/
  5. Oh yes, CFL Free Agent tracker shows Terry Williams "just" was extended on January 3rd - more than a month ago.
  6. He got injured on a dumb play call last season, IIRC. Looked like a high ankle sprain plus getting stepped on, on a carry up the gut. He's a receiver-returner not an inside ball carrier. Very unfortunate. He re-habbed forever and wasn't the same after.
  7. Grant was late to sign last year, almost at the FA deadline if I recall. He might think he's worth more than the club is willing to offer. Esp after such a long rehab last season Bombers might be hedging their bets. He's such a dynamic returner though. The whole kick return squad was wonky last season and you wonder if that's partly Boudreau? Hope #80 is back.
  8. This tells me Bombers are focused on trying to re-sign Schoen rather than Oliveira. Of course of Brady will take the hometown discount that's fine. But I can see an offence with an IMP RB, and others running the ball too - Augustine, Streveler, Demski these all are legit weapons to haul the rock.
  9. Wondered the same. Can a player just accept an offer from another club during the so-called tampering window? I thought Argos would have a chance to match or counter ...
  10. You don't know how Bombers will handle the ratio in the coming season, nor do I, but it'll be very different team and the past is no predictor of the future
  11. Betts has a Nat passport though, and if Bombers decide not to overpay for a RB, as they have done before, I could see them going after Betts for the ratio edge.
  12. If Bombers lose Jeffcoat and one of either Oliveira or Schoen, should be money in the kitty to go after Mathieu Betts.
  13. Depth signing at this point. No guarantee he'll pass the training camp physical. And if he does? Can Jordan Younger stand up to MOS? Because, sorry to say it, but with both Jake and Biggie aging out - there's a real vulnerability inside the box.
  14. I read somewhere that the only position group in the NFL that earns less than RB is long snapper.
  15. Bombers have already demonstrated they're not prepared to overpay at the RB position. So Brady will be likely gone - even $180k is pushing it. I believe it's possible Schoen too signs elsewhere, not only because of a better offer from another club, but because he knows his career will be extended if he is paired with a QB who delivers the ball on time.
  16. 100% Also, could add a little wrinkle to the Wildcat and move Chris Freakin Streveler to Center - problem solved
  17. Question: Would an offer to Chris Streveler have to be registered with the CFL/CFLPA during the negotiation window? For example, if Bombers or Lions or any other CFL team makes an offer to Streveler between Feb 4-11 would that offer have to be shared with every other team in the same way as a regular offer to 2023 rostered free agents? Or would an offer to Streveler (since he was not on any CFL roster last season) not fall under those rules? If so, then there's nothing preventing any CFL club from making a quiet offer to him at any time, right? https://www.cfl.ca/2024/01/27/free-agency-negotiation-window-opens-feb-4/
  18. Sure hope you're right. I could see us going with Zach-Strev-Barriere this season.
  19. I don't know if Bombers called on their RBs to block very often. I mean, if it comes down to needing a blocker in the backfield, what's Damian Jackson - chopped liver?
  20. I missed that. Oh well, there's Milanovich-Litre or Thomas Erlington or even an American back if BO prices himself off our roster. If it comes to a choice between keeping one of either a $200k Oliveira or a higher priced receiver such as Schoen - I'd keep Schoen. Also, I'd like to see two QBs in the backfield - Collaros and Streveler. One thing seems pretty clear, Bombers don't have $$ for Oliveira, Schoen and Streveler.
  21. I'm a fan, so it's great to see JA back - hope they locked him in for 2 years. Got a feeling he might see more of the ball. I see Jeshrun Antwi is still a free agent so who knows how it will all play out ...?
