  1. Bottom line is Calgary was prepared for us and Bombers were not prepared. Overall it looks like Bombers hit their high water mark last year but the lack of preparedness for the opponent is on the coaches. My main takeaway: Collaros has become a receiver killer with his noodle arm and lack of accuracy. No wonder Schoen and Demski are hurt, they have to jump 12 feet high to snag the pass, or it's behind them, or it takes far too long to arrive. Many saw this coming 2 years ago - hoping Bombers would promote Dru Brown. Hopefully Jarious Jackson can intervene and help devise better schemes to help a QB who is in decline and has no O line protection. I know it won't happen but would prefer if Strev starts next game at QB.
  2. Yes, always liked him. Didn't get enough touches in Winnipeg. He hits the gaps fast and has good vision. Can be slippery. But he stands too tall when he runs and often goes down on first contact.
  3. Re-watched the game. Bombers D had very little push up the middle but overall D is solid. Special teams better than previous couple years. O looked lost for the most part. O line struggled and did not dominate. Here's hoping J Jackson can be honest with Hogan, Osh etc in his assessment of Collaros, who's clearly on the downswing in terms of arm strength. Let's face it, Strev has better accuracy and velocity. In some ways we were lucky to be facing Masoli or result could've been different.
  4. Player of the Game: Tavita Asotui Peter Eli
  5. To me, he looked hesitant getting into the gaps. Last week he flew into the hole. But it could also be that the blocking isn't there. Put Cooley in, find out which it is.
  6. Second half adjustments should include moving the launch point and more roll-outs for ZC. Also, more Cooley. Let's see what he's got.
  7. Parker looks great at Safety
  8. Let's see more Cooley. We need to find out if he is for real.
  9. Terry Wilson might be Bombers only deep throw threat.
  10. Stamps QB problem has to be connected to Dickheadson. Maier is trash, VA2 is trash. All because Dickheadson has his angry nasty nose in their business.
  11. And of course add Brady when he's ready. Ha ha! Hogan's no slouch. He can figure it out. Multiple runners in the backfield at the same time. Misdirection. Vary the gaps. Rinse & repeat. O-line would love it.
  12. I want to see a formation with Peterson Cooley Demski Chris-Ike and Streveler lined up together all at once. Add Logan when he's healthy and let them just take turns running the eff out of it.
  13. No Oliveira. No Collaros. Hmmm. Impressed.
  14. Bombers taking too many penalties in this game.
  15. Strevy on target tonight.
  16. He was reaching under his shoulder pad when he got up from the tackle - could be a shoulder or collarbone.
  17. Lots of unknowns. Bet you a Buck we win. Go Blue!
  18. Plus Trey Vaval made the club, who looked pretty good on returns, and ... cool neck tattoos
  19. Bombers won both pre-season games. I was wondering if there was a correlation between pre-season success and reaching playoffs and eventual playoff success. Going back to 2004 Bombers have won both pre-season games only once before, in 2019. Not getting too far ahead of things, but, we know the name of the cup that was won by the Bombers that year.
  20. Will they play? Smoke warning: https://weather.gc.ca/airquality/pages/skaq-001_e.html
  21. I agree, kick/punt cover and returns are not a curse for us. But for one side of the equation - most TDs scored - I'd venture to say this is because we had Janarion Grant in Blue & Gold from 2019 to 2023. And if you look at total yards gained on kick and punt returns since we let Grant get away, Bombers are just about the worst in the league. This, despite the fact we force opponents to kick to us more often than virtually every other team - credit our defence for forcing those 3rd down punts. Really, that is an opportunity squandered: more punts coming to us, but among fewest yards gained. Bomber fans see this intuitively - we are getting lots of chances to return the ball but often losing the overall field position battle.
  22. I'm interested to see how we line up and run edge plays and misdirection counters on a 65-wide field this year with a new OC who is steeped in the CFL ground game. Thinking we are going to see some new wrinkles on the ground and not just in Q4. I am trying to imagine how you defend against Oliveira, Streveler, Chris-Ike, and Peyton Logan (once healthy) in the backfield all at once.
  23. Wonder if it's a 2-way player/coach deal? No sign of Jarious Jackson this season - so, you never know, might be an opening for QB coach next year.
