  1. Big play by Houston! Now time for the O - forget about pocket passing, let's call some sprint outs FFS
  2. Goofy to have Grant running up the middle where we can't block - he's an MVP
  3. Or QB sprint-out, change the launch point - this pocket passing didn't work vs BC and Calgary saw that.
  4. Brown is not activated for this game - non-football scratch etc etc
  5. Games like that, such ineptitude on both sides - I love this league but that's just embarrassing for the CFL.
  6. Calgary defence has given up a lot of rushing yards. Just hand Oliveira the rock and pound 'em. Also, Calgary has already given up one punt return TD and they've given up a ton of return yards. We can 100% expect Janarion Grant to entertain us against team Dickheadson.
  7. A month ago Dubois still had one year left on his old contract before becoming a UFA. So that old deal had to be voided before a new deal could be done. Pat Brisson, Dubois' agent, said 2 weeks ago that the player was not signing an extension with Jets. Then he signs an 8 year extension with the Jets. That new contract gets traded to Kings. I'm suggesting it is conceivable the Jets paid some of the $68M - as an inducement to Dubois accept the terms of the extension and to the Kings to part with those 3 players plus draft pick. They don't have to pay him anything on July 1 if they've already paid $8M bonus on signing.
  8. OK that makes sense. Jets pay Dubois an $8M bonus in year 1 of the deal - to make it more palatable for LA. That's what I was trying to get at.
  9. Why not just trade him, since the player has already agreed to the trade in principle, and let Kings negotiate the value and term? Consensus seems to be Chevy got a very good deal in a situation where Jets did not hold too many cards. So it is conceivable, since Dubois still had one year left on his old contract, that while voiding the old contract, that Jets agreed to pay the first $8.5M on the new contract upon signing. So Kings only pay 7 of the 8 years.
  10. How much of the 8 x $8.5M Dubois contract did Jets retain? That has not been reported. It was Jets, not Kings, after all, who signed Dubois to the deal prior to transferring the contract to LA. Assuming Jets swallowed at least the first year - upfront - of his new contract.
  11. Hoping the turnaround comes next game with just a few tweaks and that age hasn't caught up with us. As noted, Lions had their way with Bryant and Hardrick in pass pro. It's like their feet were stuck in mud. But then it wasn't just them, it seemed the entire O-line took turns at embarrassing themselves. This Oline thrives on delivering a smash-mouth running game, so, as others said, why did we abandon that? Or, why didn't we bring in extra pass protection? That goes to coaching and adjustments. Someone pointed out that Buck's playcalling - emptying the backfield - wasn't very astute, especially when the Oline is playing like a collective turnstile. Agree 100%. with that. On D, Jefferson and Bighill were AWOL. Lot of $$$ tied up in Bryant, Yoshi, Biggie and Willie - so that experience should correct itself unless, you know, age. I think the D backfield will quickly sort itself out. There is talent back there. Thankfully it's a long season. Hopefully its not a really long season.
  12. You underestimate Augustine. Every time he's been given a chance, he's been excellent.
  13. What a beautiful kick return. One of the greatest ever.
  14. Janarion Grant's kick return was actually 145 yards - 65 from sideline to sideline and then 90 up the field. Amazing.
  15. Arbuckle lacks the arm strength to be a legit CFL QB. Ball takes forever to get there. Too bad for Bobby Dyce and Khari Jones, was hoping they'd see some success esp against Dickenshead. RedBlacks have more problems than just at the QB position however. You have to look at both teams complete lack of discipline - you can see this is where Bombers excellent coaching and team culture really shines through. It's possible Masoli might make some small difference for Ottawa when he comes back. As long as he's not permanently broken at least he can scramble a bit, extend plays, and sometimes get the ball on target.
