  1. Lawless said sound like Burmi, then not Burmi. Interesting. Plot thickens. Unsigned... hmmm. Not Ehlers/Petan???
  2. Would think St John's right now though he's 21. if he cant make the Sabres why would he make the Jets, but you never know. Fans will love the kid. a Finnish player compared to Selanne? This is a great deal (if it happens) for both teams. Buffalo gets a top forward, a top D and potentially Burmi? They just moved their rebuild ahead by two years. If it happens.... Jets get help NOW and my goodness, with guys like Ehlers & Petan coming up, this is really really exciting for our future.
  3. Dreger saying jets throwing in "unsigned" player (Burmi??) and the first rounder from Buffalo would be the lowest of the three. Dreger makes it sound like all but done.
  4. Kane is already gone. So if you're not liking it because of losing Bogo, what exactly dont you like when you see prospects like the ones rumoured? That potentially gives us a very talented 3LW and a potentially elite scoring 2RW. PLUS another first round pick AND a Chara-like massive D man. Not to mention makes us better right now with Stafford. I love Bogo, but there is nothing to dislike about this deal in my opinion.
  5. Here's some info: Brendan Lemiuex: 6'1". 209lbs. 18 years old. Fantasy Outlook: B- : Top nine agitating skilled winger capable of producing upwards of 50-60 points and he should fill up the penalty minute and hits columns. Plays like his father. Drives opposition crazy. under-rated offensive upside. Joel Armia: 6'3", 187. 21 years old Finnish. RW Has good size for the National Hockey League game, plus the soft hands and instincts of a natural sniper. Knows where to be in score goals and also has two-way upside. Talented scoring winger with upside. Already drawing comparisons to Finnish great Teemu Selanne, Armia possesses a similar scoring touch, though not to the same degree. Im beginning to like the sounds of this deal...
  6. Brendan Lemieux, son of Claude Guess where he plays? Barrie Colts. Left Wing. 6'1". 209. 18 years old. Selected 31st overall.
  7. Good God! This sort of thing doesnt happen in Winnipeg! lol WOW exciting.
  8. Can't see trading Enstrom for Myers since Enstrom is a LHD and there is no reason to trade our BEST LHD right now. The plan has to be to get Buff back on D which means if Myers comes here, one of Bogo, Trouba, Postma is going the other way (and Postma wasnt playing when Buff was on D so it has to be Bogo or Trouba and it isnt Trouba). Can't see trading Frolik. Buffalo doesnt want to get better right now especially with a rental. They have no use for him. Even if Frolik walks this summer, consider him a "free" rental for us right now. He's the type of guy we NEED in the playoffs right now. If they trade Bogo there is the risk of upsetting the chemistry but 1) we dont know the chemistry in the room and I *think* Bogo is one of Kane's friends, though I only think that from seeing them hanging out a few times) and 2) if you subtract Bogo from D and add Buff & Myers, is that worth the risk? Myers is compared to Chara. Bogo is a good D. Myers could be the type of D that wins you a series.
  9. I'd almost think it could be a bit more. But if Kane gets you a 1st, prospect, rental, is Bogo for Myers a wash? Do we throw in a Burmi and get a second rental or maybe another prospect?
  10. Myers is 6'8", 227 Bogo is 6'3", 215 Myers is considered a great skater, can play in any situation and has offensive upside. They are both 1990 birthdays. Very intriguing. I would strongly suspect if its multiple players with Myers in the mix that it has to be Bogo being talked about. Too obvious with it being Buffalo (essentially Bogo's hometown).
  11. Jets wont trade a goalie. Well, not a current NHL roster goalie anyway....
  12. Wonder if Bogo goes back to the Sabres if Myers is involved in the trade. Thats exactly what I was thinking. Im not very knowledgable about Myres. Someone who knows, give me the details on him versus Bogo please!
  13. Meh thats sort of a lame duck argument. People said the same about AQ and they might "exist" but were decimated and their ability to commit massive terrorist attacks was all but destroyed. ISIS will eventually suffer the same fate. The nature of these groups is that you will always have crazy people who use the twisted ideology as an excuse to commit atrocious crimes (as we've seen in Canada). But ISIS as an organization must be destroyed and can be destroyed. ISIS goofed with the video of the soldier being burned to death. It was such a "slickly" produced video designed to strike fear in their opponents. Earlier in their 'war' that worked as the Iraqi army vastly out numbered ISIS but ran for the hills when ISIS came. The fear and intimidation worked. But that video has done the one thing they really didnt want - get an Islamic government determined to destroy for their own righteous reasons (not because the US asked them too). Jordan is strongly supported by the US, UK and France but they are arguably taking the lead in the fight against ISIS now. And suddenly, Obama is talking tough? Welcome to the party Mr President. The whole argument about ground troops is a tough one. Isnt this what a ground force is for? Personally, I'm surprised we havent been sending in "unofficial" ground forces (elite squads like the SEALS) for certain operations.
  14. Should we be starting a KaneWatch thread specific to rumours, speculation, news about a Kane deal?
  15. It depends. If the Jets have a price and a team meets it, why wait? You cant discount the potential of desperation. Bob McKenzie basically said this too when he said Vancouver would be very interested this summer but if they *really* want Kane, they might have to give their best offer right now. So if teams really covet Kane and feel the Jets are likely to deal now (for help this year) then they gotta do what they gotta do. Would Vancouver risk losing a player they really want because they think they're a playoff team right now? To what end, to lose in the first round? if they want to subscribe to the "anything can happen in the playoffs" mentality, imagine getting to May and having a healthy Kane come off the IR... Also, Im sure those teams interested have told the Jets what they'd be willing to do this summer. The Jets will know if they should wait or not. If they get a sweetheart deal now, take it. a team like Buffalo is likely happier to be moving assets for an injured player. The last thing they want is to trade their assets for other assets that help them win games right now. Losing Stafford/Stewart/Myres for someone that isnt playing and you have to replace those guys with AHL'ers? Perfect.
  16. The good news is hearing about a team like Buffalo almost desperately wanting Kane and then you hear Arizona is in on it too. That indicates teams bidding each other up. I would suspect that the Jets have guys they want and will make the deal THEY want even if we fans disagree. Like someone else said, spiteful maybe but I'd rather send Kane to Buffalo than Arizona. Though the attitude in Arizona would probably to make Kane a better player. I would assume he'd be looking to get out of Buffalo at his earliest convenience though the Sabres have money so watch him sign a massive contract in three years. If it's Tyler Myres I'd think we add a D to the deal. I think someone else suggested something like Kane, Burmi, Postma for Stafford, Armia, Myres, 1st. Could we sweeten the pot slightly and get Stafford AND Stewart, giving us a big help this year? if we land Myres without a major D going the other way it means someone is getting traded this summer (like Bogo). On the other hand, would we swap Bogo right now? He's from Buffalo. Kane/Bogo for Myres+????
  17. Whats the deal with that guy? Was doing good in AZ now doing great in MN? Thats what a great system and effort gets you. Minnesota is a very good team and thats making the goalie a lot better too.
  18. If I rememeber correctly, they had a war declaration against Al-Qaeda also and specified they could pursue military action against them in Iraq and "wherever they pose a risk".
  19. A little late in the game. But when a small country like Jordan makes you look silly I guess you have to get on board sooner or later. From what I understand, the sticking point is he wants to close off the authorization for military action against Al-Qaeda and some in congress dont want to. Plus, some will want a limitation against using ground forces. The unfortunate thing is, its probably going to take ground forces to win this thing.
  20. Surprised me but very intriguing. Would be hilarious to see Kane go to Buffalo where he might learn a new appreciation for winnipeg.
