  1. I dont know.... if Sutter is in the doghouse, that changes things. One thing they'd like about Kane is that he has cost certainty. They wouldnt have to be forever looking for someone at the deadline to play with Crosby.
  2. I agree. The Read + Schenn one is a good starting point. And I dont mind the Pens one to a degree. Bennett is good. Sutter is "okay" (though seemingly in the doghouse there now). We dont need a D though.
  3. Just for fun here are some trade offers from fans on another forum: Philly: Luke Schenn, Matt Read, 3rd for Kane Kane for Read + B.Schenn Toronto: Kadri & Lupul for Kane Kane, Hutchinson and 4th round pick for Kadri, Reimer, Lupul, prospect and 2 around(16) pick! To WPG: JVR To BUF: Kane To Tor: Myers and WPG's 2015 1st Buffalo: Stafford, Stewart, 2 2nd Round Picks for Kane Joel Armia, Mikhail Grigorenko, and Islanders 1st 2015 for Kane Habs: Ghallager, D man, 1st for Kane St Louis: Ty Rattie, Berglund, 1st round pick for Kane Pittsburgh: Bennet sutter pouliot and 2016 first to the jets for e Kane
  4. Postma could be used for leverage as well. A young puck moving D. He has value.
  5. Goes without saying. How about their 2015 first round pick
  6. The reason there is more consternation about Pavs over Hutch is very simple. They are apples and oranges. Hutch is a young goalie in his rookie season. Usually someone in his position wouldnt even be getting the starts he is let alone be talked about as a potential starter. He's going to make mistakes, have bad games etc on the road of his development. Pavs has a body of work. I *was* the biggest Pavs supporter and I still am to a degree. But you know what get with him. Ofcourse we *want* Hutch to out play Pavs. If he doesnt, it means we still dont have a bonafide starter that is in the upper half of the league stats-wise. Pavs is what he is. We dont know what Hutch is yet.
  7. Some of the rumours are the Jets highly interested in Chris Stewart and Buffalo interested in Kane. Also have seen Boston, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Toronto.
  8. I agree and disagree with this. I agree that if Kane was a free agent tomorrow and the Jets matched the best offer from another team, Kane is likely to leave anyway. I dont think he hates it here but he'd prefer to be somewhere else. But I dont think "under perform" is maybe the right way of describing him. Certainly the expectation for his talent and contract is more offense but at least he works hard every game. He bangs, crashes, forechecks etc, even when not scoring. I doubt he's thrilled to be on the 3rd line either and surely sees himself as a guy who's worked hard enough to be given more opportunities with the more offensively gifted players on the team. For me the question comes down to his impact in the locker room. If he's a great team mate, so be it. Keep him. If he's a Dbag in the room who's off-ice issues annoy the other players, then at what point do we cut our losses? The thing about him is, if Chevy made it known he was available, he'd have 20 teams making offers. Kane still is seen as an elite-level young player with a very good contract. We'd get a lot back in a trade (but moreso in the Summer probably unless a rebuilding team makes him their centerpiece and unloads some players/picks/prospects we covet). On the other hand a struggling team like the Penguins would probably salivate at getting Kane. Philly has desirable options for the Jets and would surely love him.
  9. Well the Hockey News is a trash mag, no question. Besides, I'd say it's more humiliating for his teammates on the 2nd half of a back-to-back & mired in a losing streak to not have one of their better players. Do you mean a slap in the face to the players by the coach for scratching Kane or a slap in the face to the players by Kane for doing something that got him scratched? Losing streak. B2B. Wildcard fight. And the Jets only had 12 forwards to begin with. I bet Buff was thrilled with Kane.
  10. The Hockey News has an interesting take on the Kane scratching saying that benching a player in his hometown in front of his friends & family is humiliating and could drive a pretty big wedge between team and player.
  11. I wouldnt worry about Scheif. Young player in his second season. He has flashes of brilliance. Perhaps he should move to 3C for awhile with Lowry on his wing.
  12. Im sorry. But if you are advocating trading Enstrom by saying Pardy does the same thing then the discussion has reached the point of absurdity. Enstrom isnt Buff so people get on him. He's our most consistently effective, intelligent, puck moving D man. You could argue Trouba. But Enstrom was signed to the contract he was to be a leader on D for years. He isnt going anywhere. The "Trade Kane" voices will get louder now and you have to wonder how long the organization will put up with Kane. He's got elite level talent and I thought we had put his "off ice" issued to bed. This is terrible timing for him to have done something to get healthy scratched and, without knowing details, comes across as unbelievably selfish.
  13. Oddly enough (and I've only played 5 games), Pavs is pretty decent. But my shots against are usually low. I rattled off 50 shots against someone. Hutch was in for one game which I won 7-6 in OT. He was awful except in OT where he made about 6 spectacular saves. Go figure.
  14. They were not playing overly great prior to the All Star break. I know people are embracing the "it was the break" narrative but you could sort of see a tumble coming. They were winning, so it was easy to overlook. But its not just the break.
  15. Thank you. This helped me figure it out and I was able to download the updates and roster. Ran off a 5-0 record as the Jets to start the season even though Hutch seemingly sucks in this game.
  16. Yup. No "tampering" now to tell him what he can expect if he comes to Winnipeg.
  17. 2 starts. 2 losses. And he gets a 3rd Guess what peeps, we have a starter and his name is Hutch.
  18. Man you pick some weird soapboxes to stand on.. not a soap box but anyone still subscribing to the "Lawless is an idiot who doesnt know what he's talking about and is classic cut-rate Winnipeg media" doesnt really have a clue.
  19. I started this year advocating trading Buff but I have changed my mind since he returned to D and looked like a Norris candidate. I'd now advocate locking him up for the rest of his career. He's better then Bogo with way more game-changing talent. yes Bogo has many more days ahead then Buff and Id like to keep Bogo too but eventually someone is going to go. We know from the Wheeler/Little (and someone else I think) deals that the players admitted talking to each other and deciding they all wanted to buy into being here. I would strongly suspect Ladd and Buff will have the same conversation as they are close friends. Im not saying they are a package deal..but they might be a package deal.
  20. Wasnt Nate posting here too? Havent seen him for awhile. What did he do this time?
  21. They arent country. They were just messing with people. They are Classic Rock.
