  1. edit ok. The original gulf war ended with a cease fire dependant on specific conditions being met. Those conditions were not met. Don't get caught up in the WMD nonsense.
  2. If that video taught me anything its that his first name is pronounced Yole (rhymes with Hole)
  3. Morrissey is a LD I believe. its good depth LD: Enstrom Chiarot Stuart Morrissey RD: Buff Trouba Myers Postma Keep in mind Buff is a final year player next season. Hopefully they lock him up long term. After all, he DIRECTLY impacted this trade. I would say they resign Frolik but having Stafford around maybe gives them options. Burmi is coming back to the NHL this summer and since the Jets havent traded him (yet) I would suspect Chevy liked him...and maybe knows something we dont. Burmi back for 2/3LW would be excellent.
  4. Or it could be that the culture of the NHL is different and therefor they have less issues than other leagues. I think thats the answer. All those other leagues and organizations have a brand to protect too. I wouldnt say the UFC is in crises mode. They have problems but it's not a crises. They will get it sorted out. I remember the HUGE drug scandal in WWE a few years ago (that ended up with Vince mcMahon on federal trial) but they worked it out...more or less.
  5. Im VERY excited about Armia. Everything you read sees him have a chance to be a top quality player. Saw somewhere he was graded out as a 3rd line guy. But everywhere else they used the term almost elite. Comparing him to Selanne...well if there is anything there beyond both being Finnish, thats a win. Let's assume Armia grew up as a Selanne fan, might like Winnipeg. Chevy said he spoke to him and he was excited. I like hearing that Don baizley was his agent (same as Teemu) and spoke highly of him. Another telling comment from Chevy was that they want their development prospects to be "over ripe" before making the jump to the NHL. This tells me fans will be screaming for guys like Armia, Lemieux, Petan, Ehlers before maybe we get to see them. Nothing wrong with that. If the Jets do re-sign Stafford and Frolik it makes the RW pretty loaded without factoring in any prospects. I would think we resign one of those guys but not both. Still weak on the left side. If Ehlers can make the team next year, that certainly helps (Ehlers-Lowry-Frolik) is a good third line.
  6. Im very anti-censorship but i agree with this. Bogo served us well. Why rehash old garbage now? Good luck to Bogo!
  7. Caps have had an up/down season for sure. It happens. If they had Lowry and Chiarot they'd be happier. O'dell is okay but probably not going to be good enough to be an everyday NHLer. Armia is 21 and pretty close to NHL ready. I'd look for him to make the team out of camp if not get an opportunity this season depending on how things go. I wonder if he's strong enough and defensively sound enough to get a look on the 4th line with Slater/Thorburn? I had hoped Klingberg would make it. Telegin probably would have. Still need a LW this season. Halischuk was servicable and he's done. If Thorbs is your answer at 3rd line, then the question you're asking isnt a good one.
  8. Buffalo fans not too happy. Consensus is Winnipeg won the trade by a mile. When the trade was first proposed I see comments from people saying jets would have to add a lot and people calling it a "NHL15 trade". But lets be honest, Kane is the most talented piece in the deal right now and could be the best piece when all is said and done. Thats up to him. Bogo might be better than Myers right now but Myers has more upside I'd say and has the size to be more of a difference-maker. But again, thats up to him. The proposed pairings are: Chiarot-Buff Enstrom-Trouba Stuart-Myers Myers has been playing big minutes on a bad team and looked the part. I would strongly suspect this is an opportunity for him to improve in a better system with more support in a "lesser" role for now. Stuart will be a big help in that regard.
  9. Craig Button would know! Where are all these prospects going to fit in? great problem to have.
  10. I dont think anyone doubts the past CIA connections. But that point is also moot. Loyalty and affiliations in the middle east change. ISIS uses religion (and fear among other things) to manipulate the weak minded but when you read stories from former members and hostages they tell you there is nothing religious about them. They dont believe in anything. The US invading Iraq is an entirely other debate. But rest assured, they were well within their rights to do so. The only thing controversial about it was the limpdick UN being wishy washy on Saddam for years.
  11. I dont read the Dirty. But when looking into the terrible rumour, it all traced back to a post there. I would hope Stafford isnt upset about coming here. He went from the worst team in the NHL to a team in the playoffs where he will be given every opportunity to find his game and contribute. Maybe he's just in shock. or he was hoping it would be a cup contender he'd go to. Chevy sure makes it sound like he wants to keep Stafford beyond this season. Cant see Myers going. he has a long contract with great terms. Huddy will mold him into his full potential. Myers could be a lifer. Reported now that Buff is back on D as of tomorrow night. Also, Lemieux tweeted how excited he was to be traded to Winnipeg. im sure he's heard good things from Dale and he actually played with Scheif. Get ready for the Ehlers-Scheif-Armia line for the next decade.
  12. So those of you that peruse Buffalo forums, how's this going with their fans? The little i've seen is, they dont like it as much as we do...and they hate losing those prospects, which is good for us.
  13. Yeah i wonder how he feels. Thats about the worst place to go if you want to be in a big hip city. But I guess its closer to home. We'll see how he matures in three years. He will have every opportunity there with some talented players (coming). If he still goes to UFA in three years then it says everything about it. We shall see. Jets end up with a ton of cap space for next season. Time to look at a map lol Whoops, meant closer to big markets (like New York) lol brainfart.

  15. Bogo was that much? wow. Makes this deal look even better. What I really like about this deal is its a so-called "hockey deal" that helps both teams. it's an honest deal between these two GM's. Kane is going to get the first line minutes he wants with a very talented center next season. Bogo becomes their number 1 D man. Buffalo as a top forward and top D to build around. Good for them.
  16. Found Stafford $4million (Buffalo retains half) Myers is $5.5 Million for three more years (expiring 2019). Kane was $5.15 (real cash was $6 million) Can't remember Bogo though. But we likely saved a few million moving forward. We also have the nice problem of a glut of prospects in the next 1-3 years (Ehlers, Petan, Copp, Lemiuex, Armia, Kossy). and lets not forget Burmi. if Stafford works out, I wouldnt be opposed to trying to resign him (and Frolik) too.
  17. I wonder about the locker room chemistry. I had always heard mixed things about Bogo and I think he and Kane were close. Didnt Bogo just get engaged? Was that a local girl? Good luck to Bogo. Kane...have fun in Buffalo.
  18. Interesting that 1290 guys speculating that Stafford re-signs here but Myers moves on. Stafford is from Faribult, Minnesota (just outside Minneapolis). Ladd - Little - Wheeler Perrault - Scheif - Stafford ??? - Lowry - Frolik Need one more move for a LW.
  19. I posted some earlier in the thread. Armia is compared to Selanne. Lemieux is either a bottom six or mid six, depending on what you read. Plays tough. Under-rated offensive upside. Coached by hawerchuk in Barrie. Jets will surely know exactly what Lemieux is (surely called Dale on it).
  20. Bittersweet for Bogo I would guess. He moves home but out of the playoffs. Kane probably thinking be careful what you wish for. But good for both teams really. Where's that hastag whatdidchevydo? wow. Blockbuster. Supposedly Vancouver was in on Kane and the Jets called them this morning to say they had a bigger deal. I dont think Jets are done. They need one more forward piece, especially if you want Buff back on D. We need a top 9 LW.
  21. Thanks for the memories Bogo. But this is a great deal for both teams. Now...what do the Jets do? Stafford is a RW.
  22. Myers and Bogo both have no trade clauses. Myers kicks in AFTER next season. Bogo kicks in...at some point but not right now. If Kasdorf gets the deal done, great option for Jets since they dont need him. Also intrigues me that Burmi isnt involved...supposedly Buffalo was close to trading for him two years ago, assuming they'd still like him, means the Jets want to keep him (or see his value higher than Buffalo). if this happens, I will say this about Chevy - he took a Thrashers team with not much in the cupboard and re-stocked it incredibly well in a very short period of time.
