  1. Isnt Stafford a "natural" RW? ie. he prefers it? Might we see: Ladd-Little-Wheeler Perrault-Scheif-Stafford Ehlers-Lowry-Frolik Stemp-Copp-Thorbs I like Armia, but not sure how he makes the team over everyone ahead of him. I wasnt sold on Frolik returning but his agent said today they are talking and Frolik wants to stay. Worst case scenario, we lose both Stafford and Frolik and that opens the door for Armia. If the Jets sign both guys, they likely need to shed some salary somewhere and that might be the highly paid guy who's 3rd on the RHD depth chart...
  2. You mean 17 is wrong? Shudder at the thought
  3. You're probably right. Buff is worthless.
  4. I think some pending UFA's have brought back a lot at the deadline to a team thinking that player was the final piece of the puzzle. I think you trade Buff this summer and you'll get enough interest to get a good middle six player plus a good pick or prospect, or a top six winger and a decent pick, or a solid if unspectacular LHD rather than a pick/prospect. Most teams trading for him in the summer will feel good about their chances to re-sign him. I think Buff is gone one way or another. I cant imagine the Jets paying him what his agent will expect for the length of time he will expect it. Nor can I see Buff giving a huge discount to stay here. This is his last chance to cash in. I dont think a player that plays 5 games as best-in-the-world and 5 games as mediocre is what the Jets need or want. With the D we have, the young talent coming up, trading him for depth or a decent player who can help us now AND save us the huge payday he will want is a net positive to the Jets. Quite frankly, losing him for nothing is better than paying him huge dollars for six+ years. So anything we get is gravy. But he has those nights where he is a world beater and there will be enough teams that remember that and think that, to drive up his value.
  5. I think you're on to something. The Oilers are pretty stupid. They waited this long to do something, they will wait another year and hope everything works out. I think they are content to try and win 5-4 rather then 2-1. To get a franchise-calibre D would require them parting with something major and they might as well stand pat right now. They have the coach they want, let him evaluate where they are. For that reason, if Buff was on the market, I could see them being interested. Buff's one year contract reduces his value but it doesnt hurt the Oilers long term. I think other teams would pay more though, a team that thinks they are one piece away from a cup and remember Buff's time with Chicago. A team like that will see the one year as a benefit and pay more in the way of picks and prospects and talented depth to "win now". Think Philly. If you're trying to say Buff is a franchise calibre D I'm going to laugh in your face very hard. No one is offering up a franchise D in trade so all this talk is pretty mute. One year of Buff is not worth a Hall or an Eberle or anything else like that. If you want to talk BUff for something around the 16th overall that the Oilers got from the Pens then I'm sure there's a discussion to be had, but if you think one year of him plus some table scraps gets you a big time name you're out to lunch. I think I spelled out where I think Buff fits in as the "missing piece" of a team. Or what I think other teams will see him as. I think the Oilers would be interested because he'd bring a lot to their team without a long-term committment. He'd play 30 minutes (which he'd like), he'd play special teams (which he'd like) and he'd likely rack up a lot of points (which he'd like). But the Oilers would give up less because he's not the long-term solution they need.

  7. I'm not an Ovi fan. But he went because it's what you do. He's a proud Russian and went to serve his nation. Him And Malkin get it and good on them staying out for the national anthem.
  8. Is that main network scheduling?? Why on earth would they schedule to DC properties opposite each other And again this all leads back to DC not having a plan for their universe or characters.
  9. Love reading these stories of the coyotes potential demise and shady deals and massive losses. http://www.tsn.ca/coyotes-survival-hinges-on-arena-deal-battle-1.283772
  10. Call me crazy but this actually looks pretty good. But...it really demonstrates the lack of continuity in the DC Cinematic Universe. In fact, there isnt really a DCCU which is silly.
  11. @WiebeSunSports: F Jason Jaffray was hoping to sign a deal with Manitoba Moose but he's been told he won't be offered a contract with #NHLJets #AHL affiliate
  12. Hopefully she didn't drop as many F-bombs at church the next day. What a loser. She's allowing the idea of the wine to stand as a potential excuse while then giving excuses as to why it probably wasnt. Either you were drunk or not. But this isnt like some mind control took over her mouth. Sleep deprivation? My goodness. What a clown.
  13. Replaced by Pardy and then put right back in. A rookie in his first playoff series. Chiarot could be kept as the 7th but he cant "not make the team" or else he will be waived and someone will take him. He'd have to have a lousy training camp for that to happen. I like Morrissey. Im only saying, based on the Jets usual track record of taking their time with development and taking other things into account, that all things being equal, they might want him to play on the Moose.
  14. Enstrom is a top pairing D man. Chiarot spent time with Buff. Stu is more suited to the bottom pairing. My point remains...Morrissey has to beat one of them for a spot. And none of them can go to the Moose without clearing waivers.
  15. Enstrom, Chiarot, Stuart. All guys with contracts. So Morrissey will have to take one of their jobs. lol
  16. It's tribute that X-Files began to collapse under the weight of its own mythology. But I've been saying for ages that its ready made for a revival. Misteries and conspiracies are hot again. The two leads are popular and still look great. And whether we like it or not nostalgia is hot too.
  17. Some seasoning time on the moose Id think. Especially as jets are descent down the left side. Can spare the time for him to develope.
  18. Injuries would surely have changed the odds, if not the bets people were making. Complicating matters is that Pac checked off "no" on the pre-fight questionnaire asking if he had any injuries.
  19. Well yes but these lawsuits are interesting because it really does impact the odds which ofcourse impacts money and viewership. Im too lazy to look up details but one of the states where a lawsuit was filed has laws about holding back important information. It's essentially fraud. But you're right in the sense that for this fight, it had a massive impact but if anyone actually wins a lawsuit, how does that impact "everyday" sports? No more "Upper body" injury stuff during the playoffs?
  20. Looks like Fox is going all-in on the X-Files revival (and I cant wait). Latino Review: Fox is betting big on the anticipated return of The X-Files. The beloved sci-fi series is getting a 6-episode return event on the network early next year, reuniting stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as Agents Mulder and Scully. Word has now come on how the network is prepared to relaunch the series to the largest possible audience. Fox is planning to debut the new X-Files miniseries immediately following the NFL's NFC Championship Game on Sunday, January 24. The NFL always garners stellar ratings, but especially during the playoffs. Giving The X-Files a post-NFC Champsionship berth, then following up it the very next night on Monday at 8PM, is going to give the series an insanely high probability of being a ratings success. The new X-Files miniseries will be guided, once again, by series creator Chris Carter.
  21. The fight is really an amazing study in how many people "follow" the crowd because they want to belong. The sheer volume of people are arent boxing fans that bought the PPV or went out and watched it is really stunning. It became an "event" not to be missed where you had to see it if you were "cool". I've bought a couple of boxing PPV's in my life but not a big fan by any means. I had friends whom I never knew even watched a match before, asking me if I was going to see it. I was intrigued by the hype and interested in the outcome but Mayweather is pretty distasteful. Didnt watch it. Caught the details on twitter for free. Now they are both being sued by various people. It will be a good test case on how much health information they are obligated to release prior to the fight.
  22. America is a messed up place. Its all fake. Zero idea how to keep control or lead their own........ Yet have the balls to run about the world telling others how to live. Its a complete joke IMO. That's a pretty simplistic look at world politics. One could argue the reason the US has issues is because of the freedom people have and the lack of severe consequences. But that leads into a deeper discussion that I, for one, dont really feel like getting into. lol I think this trend to charge police will continue and its a good trend. I think the culture of police work needs to change.
  23. It's not foreign. What I meant was that Elizabeth May can get away with acting that stupid in public and the leftist media will just ignore it, or worse, make excuses for it. And that's a double-standard. But what I'm saying is; what you say the leftist media ignores, happens by the 'rightist' media who will ignore whomever it is, who does their stupid act in public. It's the same thing from all sides. It's mostly all bullfrog. Practically before May finished her ignorant (drunken?) diatribe, there were excuses being made in the media. The best part was that those excuses were beat by seconds by other commentators speculating as to which excuse she'd use. Turned out she was tired. Then it was tired and trying to be funny. Im not sure it rises to the level of demanding her resignation but if I was a member of her party I sure would but I suspect members of her party applaud this stuff.
  24. Try watching his his stuff this week on Kadr and the election. Its easy to paint people in generalities without actually looking at specifics If this is the video that you're referring to as even-keeled then you have a serious problem. At least kelownabomberfan had a valid excuse! Please examine Levant's language, he frames Khadr's name with the following to stir up negative emotions. "convicted murderer" "war criminal" "convicted terrorist" "confessed murderer" "confessed terrorist" "muslim nazi" (twice) "hates Jews and wants to kill them and other westerners" "like Paul Bernardo" Ezra is not a legitimate journalist, he is a propagandist. Please examine the circumstances of Khadr's detention and conviction before jumping to simple conclusions. That is not the video. Also most of those descriptions are perfectly reasonable to be applied to Khadr. But this is one of those issues where neither of us will convince the other. If the left wanted to make an issue of the conviction, that would be one thing, but they hold this guy up as some sort of wonderful example of humanity. He is a terrorist. Even the nutjob Elizabeth May remarked that in Canada "people get a second chance" in talking about Khadr. If she feels he needs a second chance, ie. he did something wrong, it's very telling of the far left and their disconnect with average Canadians who want tougher sentences for teenage car thieves, let alone a terrorist.
  25. Ehlers should make it. Even if he's borderline he's way too advanced for junior and can't go to the A so they will develop him here. Ofcourse they sent Scjeif back twice. But ehlers is more talented then Scheif. He should make it
