  1. What the heck is on CBC that makes so many listen to it? I have zero desire to even try it. Nice gains for 1290 too. Im sure I heard them say H&L was the highest rated show too, or something to that effect. I wonder if Moose games would drive CJOB up enough to edge close to the top spot. I do agree their commercials are killer. very hard to listen to. Even when trying to listen to pre-game coverage of Bombers games, I'd usually give up. With 1290 doing the shows better, it's a no brainer to listen to them instead. If I was CJOB, i would have brought Marty Gold over, bringing his drive home show to the same slot. I dont know how his format would work with a break every 5 minutes for commercials, traffic and weather but I know CJOB didnt like the amount of listeners he was getting on his RRCC show in that key time slot. Just some new blood, some excitement would help CJOB
  2. Booker T was quoted hearing him saying the N word but didn't care as he knew it wasn't filled with malice. Michael Hayes thinks he's black
  3. We brought them to Winnipeg to headline a show at Shaw Park in 2002. Fun time.
  4. Good choice. I have to admit I've got good hands when it comes to balls. Now get your minds out of the gutter - I was referring to footballs... maybe. Jacquie - you just want to be a REC as that means that you get to be covered by Troy Stoudermire. You'd probably want me on the O-line though I'd prefer to be the kicker. I just cant kick.
  5. TD's rates went up for us (we bought in 2008) so much it was worth it to switch. Just re-upping my mortgage now. 4 years (or two, havent decided which is really eating at me) for 2.19. Very good rates. We cashed out money AND lowered our payments.
  6. I cant remember who we're with (Ill check) but we were with TD Insurance and they drastically raised their rates and when we complained they basically said they wanted to make more money. My buddy who works for TD even switched. They went from among the best deals to the worst. Edit: We use Brokers Choice Financial. The gf handles that sort of thing but my recollection is, it was a good deal and good coverage.
  7. Could the signing be a precursor to a trade? Sign and trade deal?
  8. Paid rioters. Some people have too much money and too much time on their hands.
  9. I agree. The master plan should be Stu as the 3rd LHD. The question is, can Morrissey slide into the 2LHD? is Chiarot a lock there? Or will Stu play that position while Chiaort/Morrissey season a bit as 3LHD? Or do they do something like convert a RHD to that position in order to give Myers, Trouba, Buff enough minutes?
  10. I definitely felt like Helle was a couple years away but his performance at the world championships is making me think he's ready now.
  11. Any way you slice it there is no excuse for being that bad for that long with those pics. It shows you that talent isn't everything. It's having the right talent in the right positions. It's about building a team not just choosing the consensus number one every year. I have little doubt the oilers will make drastic improvements one day.
  12. Glad to hear it. The story deserves attention. I remember Westwood talking about how he'd get an easier time in the CFL but that there would still be locker room issues. If thats true, it's sad to hear. Its 2015.
  13. I think some people undervalue Burmi. He might not have the fancy scoring stats but he's still only 23 years old right now. He's another player the Thrashers rushed to the NHL and probably stunted his development. If Kane is still a top flight talent then so Burmi can't be written off after two seasons here. He was a plus player. He was used on special teams. He had talent. Reports are out that Toronto is interested in him. I think it was Lawless who alluded to issues in the locker room where Burmi wasnt well liked so that could be the biggest contributor to whether he plays here or is shipped out. Personally, I think he has more value to the Jets right now then in a trade. Every team interested will play the KHL card and say he's regressed or has attitude issues and they are doing the Jets a favour in taking him. If his attitude is right and he's determined to prove himself, a one year deal to play for the Jets could be the best thing for all. We know Kane wanted out long before he was finally traded. If Burmi wants out, might Chevy tell him to make it easier on everyone and have a great season here?
  14. I wouldn't say Burmi was mediocre. He had flashes that showed what he could be. He was strong defensively. I'd be happy to have him back. But I understand why he might be traded. Either way something will happen with him and he's now a Jets asset that will benefit the team in some way this year.
  15. For just Myers, I might gift you Yakupov, but there might have to be a trade of picks in there. Like a Jets 2nd for an Oilers 4th or something... Yak for Myers? And you'd want more from Winnipeg?
  16. We gave up Evander Kane to get Tyler Myers (other pieces involved ofcourse). What would the Oilers have had to give up to get him?
  17. Trouba's pretty inconsistent. He had some ugly games this season, he just got more of a pass for it b/c he's still really young. There's no question in my mind Trouba is more valuable to us long term, but I think the question is more "why can't we have both?" It's hard to argue this property b/c we have no idea what he's asking for, or what the Jets are willing to give him. I definitely agree with this. But Trouba's highs and lows aren't as glaring as Buffs. If you can only have one the answer is clear. Trouba is ahead of buff. Personally of buff was willing to take $4 million per for three years then that's pretty attractive. But logically that is unlikely. I don't want to be hamstrung for years because of a bad signing. It's like kane for different reasons. Would it have been nice to keep kane? Sure. But him leaving brought in pieces that improved the team in the short term and arguably the long term.
  18. I guess there is ego involved in taking a mess and making it a winner. He has options that are better chances to win sooner, but to make generational money and presumably be promised every opportunity to win eventually, why not.
  19. Is that what I said you diva? No it's not. I said Buff is not 3rd on the depth chart and there is no evidence to the contrary. And he didn't just play more in the playoffs, he played more all season. Just because you wish something was true really, really hard, doesn't make it so. I love that you read every thing I write and yet are so angry and bitter! hahahahaha It's what you implied. If you have nothing to add, why bother? I even went to the trouble of getting the information YOU mentioned. Try common sense. It might help with your poor attitude and make for a more enjoyable experience here. He didn't imply it, you inferred it. All he did was point out you're making up depth charts and arguing them as fact. You believe Buff is ahead of Trouba on the depth chart for next season? I dont. Neither is a fact. It's an opinion.

Ok now let's hear some story about how you used to wrestle and the cops gave you a hard time and how that proves Buff is the 3rd pairing D. By the way, next wrestling show is next Saturday May 30th. I wont be wrestling, sorry to disappoint you, but you might enjoy the show since you're a fan. Ha so basically you were wrong but just can't admit it. Wonderful! And I already have a very enjoyable experience here, thanks. Wrong about what? You being a mature adult? Well, yes I was. Wrong about Buff? I dont think so. I mean, it comes down to opinion as most things in discussion forums do, right? I posted the time on ice stats so I know Buff played more minutes than Trouba. But When Chevy and Maurice put the names up on the whiteboard, is Buff ahead of Trouba? I dont think so. His top end talent is better than Trouba's right now. Trouba is far more consistent with far more upside over the next five years as Buff ages. Contract situation is far better where Trouba is concerned. It would not surprise me to see the Jets keep Buff this season without an extension but I wouldnt want to see that. Either pay him now, which I also would not like to see, or trade him now. No point in dragging this one through the season.
  21. Im surprised he's leaving Detroit to be honest. Supposedly, St Louis is out and now Buffalo looks out. And MLSE has a private jet landing in Detroit today, scheduled to take off three minutes later. Hmmmm... Why on earth would he want to go to Toronto, other than loads of cash?
  22. I did say if you can get a first and a prospect that's about the best you can hope for, but keep in mind that first round picks are going to be harder to pry out of teams that aren't certain of their playoff spots going forward. With the changes to the draft lottery teams giving up potential lottery picks will be much less likely. Simply put Buff has a big salary and he does have some question marks about his work ethic. I'd take him but not for the premium some of you think he's worth. Edmonton doesn't have to give up their big pieces to plug a hole temporarily. You want one of those pieces offer something with some long term benefit to it. Certainly agree that Oilers arent going to give up a big piece for Buff with his contract as is. In fact, they'd be wiser to struggle for another year and find the right young D that can grow with their team than pay big bucks for an aging inconsistent Buff. But ridding the Jets of him if they dont intend to resign him is a net positive.
  23. Is that what I said you diva? No it's not. I said Buff is not 3rd on the depth chart and there is no evidence to the contrary. 24. You keep saying this, about Byfuglien being 3rd on the RHD depth chart but it's not true. Maybe next year it will be true. Maybe it's true in your mind right now. But Byfuglien played more minutes than Trouba in every playoff game, and even more than Myers at times. So, until proven otherwise, Buff is not 3rd on anyone's depth chart except your own. Game One: Myers: 24:16 Buff: 20:51 Trouba:19:18 Game Two Buff: 23:51 Myers: 21:26 Trouba: 20:21 Game Three: Myers: 26:12 Buff: 21:27 Trouba: 20:29 Game Four: Myers: 25:37 Buff: 25:52 Trouba: 16:15 Trouba broke his hand in game two. In game one he and Buff were almost the same in time. Once he broke his hand, his ice time dropped off. Myers is clearly the top RHD. But if we take common sense out of the equation, then yes, we should re-sign Buff for 6+ years and $6million+ because he played more minutes than Trouba in this year's playoffs.
