  1. I told myself I wanted no spoilers then read reviews and was disappointed there were no spoilers. Lol. Apparently they were "banned" from posting full reviews until 12:01 tonight. So we will see spoilers Pop up tomorrow.
  2. Well let's agree. No spoilers here. Whomever sees it first start a spoiler discussion thread.
  3. Helle/Pav no fury like the Jets scorned.
  4. Thats awesome and not that expensive considering the price of VIP here....
  5. Assuming these early numbers are legit, RAW made a remarkable comeback: 8:00pm 1.3 4.04 million 9:00pm 1.3 3.8 million 10:00pm 1.4 3.82 milion
  6. It will be Helle and either Pavs or Hutch. Hutch is easy to re-sign. Pavs is still under contract. So the obvious thing would be to let Hutch walk, trade him for a conditional late pick, or re-sign him and assign him to the Moose because Comrie probably needs a veteran down there for a bit. And go Helle/Pavs.
  7. Snow clearing parking bans should be enforced 100% of the time, and not just with tickets but a trip to Dr. Hook as well. What kind of narcissistic ******* thinks he is too important to move his car? It affects everyone on that street, sometimes for multiple weeks, if the plows can't do their jobs. As long as its only for the time they are plowing. The plowing operation in this city sucks.
  8. That is really tremendous. Are you in Winnipeg?? What theater? I assume your work just rented the entire theater and lets you bring guests to fill it up? I took a Vacation day this Friday to go...
  9. I like Stu. He's good until someone better comes along. And hopefully Morrissey pushes him next season. The problem comes when Stu, Pardy, Chiarot and Postma are playing top 4 minutes. Any combo of those guys in the bottom two is okay by me. They are all decent D men of various skill. In fact, I'd be calling the Pens and seeing what they'd give for Postma. On the other hand, if the jets plan to ditch Buff, they might still think postma has some upward mobility as far as being a puck moving D man.
  10. What a great work outing!
  11. I dont know about that... there are by-laws where they only enforce when they need to enforce, not all the time. I believe the snow clearing is one of them. Im not disputing that in a perfect world the City's intent and their legal obligation would be the same. But it's utterly ludicrous that they'd be told their tickets were illegal and they wont refund the money. I mean...they *have* to lose that one... But this city is so reliant of revenue generated by ticketing, they are like crack addicts who cant give it up.
  12. They can make any law they want. But no law = invalid ticket = refund money.
  13. It's not true. All someone said is they have agreed on the length (6 years) but they ain't there on the cash Thats an old one. Not the one I heard today. Like I said, big grain of salt. But if they announce in the next day or so, Ill take the credit. if they dont, Ill deny I ever posted this. \ Just saw a story on The Score (which is not where I heard this). Sides are $500,000 or so apart. They'll get there. So back to square one with the idea they want Ladd, will move Buff.
  14. If you've ever lived on a street where your only parking option was on the street, you might think differently. I agree about moving and I think the city does a better job with the snow zones as opposed to it being a guessing game. But they illegally ticketed. Its an extension of their arrogance with ticketing altogether.Their excuse is "we didnt know. Our bad. No refunds though". So if I speed or park in the wrong place can I say sorry, I didnt know. Not gonna pay. I lived in that situation for many years. I figured it out. And you're oversimplifying. The city asked people to move between 7 and 7... If you didn't move, you should be ticketed. The "signage between 11 and 6" law is the stupid part and all this is is people trying to get out of paying on a technicality. How many of the people parked between 7 and 7 did so because they knew of the signage between 11 and 6 law? Probably almost zero. The reason is laziness and they should be ticketed. Law is illegal. Should not be ticketed. If the city says 'hey drive 10km under the speed limit' and you dont and there is no legal reason to drive slower, should you be ticketed? No. Law is law. They want people to pay because its the law. So when it isnt the law, they cant expect people to pay. By their own admission they cannot collect on these. Thus, they absolutely should refund anyone who did pay. And if it goes to court, I think they will lose.

  16. There is a hint of "not as good as hoped" among some of the reviews. And since these "reviews" are the promised no-spoiler "first thoughts" from industry people inside the premiere screening, one could speculate the film isnt as good as these reviews make it sound. But you cant discount the ones that are raving about it. Probably the most consistent things i've heard are "it feels like Star Wars" and "Daisey Ridley nails it".
  17. Star Wars reviews are all over the place. I might have accidentally seen a major spoiler in a "headline". Be forewarned. Im a spoiler junkie but trying to refrain til I see the movie on Friday. One thing I've seen a few times from the non-spoilers is, the final shot of the movie is the best final shot of the series. I have an idea of what it is...very excited.
  18. While its possible it was an innocent mistake that doesnt excuse the Bombers' from responsibility. They told this guy twice that his ticket was wrong. He checked two different ways (website and phone call). If any of us threw away $178,000 over and "innocent mistake" we'd be furious. Imagine if this story was different and the headline was "50-50 Winner Discards Ticket Over Bombers Error, Cant Claim Prize". What then...?
  19. Seeing some "rumors" that Ladd contract extension is being finalized. Take with huge grain of salt.
  20. Yes that's true too. And if so, someone should be in trouble. I sort of imagine a scenario where whomever took the phone call from the winner and checked his ticket did so against the website. And then after the call decided to double check and caught the error and then fixed the website and said to their boss "soooo...weird how no one has claimed the money, eh?"
  21. I would say checking the website and calling the office and in both cases being told he did not have the winning ticket was sufficient on the part of the winner. How many times do you check your lotto ticket numbers? I scan them and when it says I didnt win, I throw it away. I dont keep checking repeatedly in case there is a mistake. The Bombers should have absolutely informed the public there had been an error so anyone who might have checked their ticket, should check it again. Bombers pretty clearly hoped no one would notice and the public would be non the wiser. You don't know what they hoped or didn't. You're just trying to promote the fact that it was a conspiracy all along. No, Im using common sense. Perhaps they were just stupid. Those are the two choices. When they caught the error and fixed it on the website, they were either stupid in not informing the public or they maliciously chose not to inform the public in hopes no one would notice their mistake. The fact they went full media with the whole "no one has claimed it yet" but didnt inform the media that they had actually had the wrong number posted leads me to believe the likelihood was they knew they goofed. There is some difference of opinion about the phone call. I recall Bombers said they were unaware of a phone call to confirm the number. Either way, when talking about a lottery, its good to have an "investigation" to ensure proper protocols are followed. The circumstances are moot now. They will be more careful in the future.
  22. Well they are going all-in on Helle. I dont dislike it. Unless he falls off a cliff, one of Hutch/Pavs wont be here next season. I like the D pairings too.
  23. Brock and Cena are both back imminently too. Just in time for WM season and for WWE to think everything is right in the world. Then we get NEW record low ratings next year!
  24. That makes more sense! lol Yes, I cant understand why it's allowed. They effectively stole money from people. Everyone should sue them. I know most people probably just pay their fines as its not worth the hassle to fight. But there are some tricks you can use to get out of it and to cost the city money fighting it. It seems counter intuitive to want to cost the city money but this ticketing scam is ridiculous. I endorse every person who gets a ticket to request a court date and then move that court date at the last minute as many times as possible.
  25. If we assume this, then there should be no arbitration. It would be black and white.
