Yeah, no league would ever do that. Sacramento Kings guard Rajon Rondo’s one-game suspension is the result of Rondo screaming “anti-gay slurs” in Kennedy’s direction in a game Dec. 3. Among the statements Rondo allegedly hurled Kennedy’s way include the point guard screaming “you’re a mother******* ******” and “you’re a ******* ******, Billy.”

Pretend he called him the N word. Does your post apply? Or you just think homophobic slurs are okay? What does being a wrestling promoter have to do with Shaw using a homophobic slur? That's a hilariously transparent attempt to dismiss my opinion in way unbecoming of someone as well spoken as you. I dont try to pass myself off as anything. If I had to explain, I'd say Im a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. Now that's out of the way... "Who cares what he said?" Every single person who finds homophobic slurs offensive would care. Are you gay? Do you have any gay people in your life? Are you able to empathize with people who have been victims because of their sexual orientation? People have literally been killed because they were gay. And you think its perfectly acceptable for anyone, let alone someone in the public spotlight to perpetuate this kind of hate-filled language? Minimizing the word as "just a word" is wrong. As I said, that logic would then apply to him using any racial slur too. How about threats? Are they ok. They are just words. If you dont empathize with the plights of the gay community, that's fine, but then you cant really speak to the issue. Its like someone saying "I dont see the big deal with the N word", that person is entitled to their opinion but they have no credibility to discuss use of the word. Do I think Shaw should be drawn & quartered? No. Do I think he's a homophobe? I have no idea. A friend of mine who is gay has a brother that grew up using "gay" as a negative term. ie. "That's gay". Ofcourse, when his brother came out, he stopped using it but because it was a part of his vocabulary for so long, he occasionally uses it without realizing it. And feels terrible for doing so. Shaw might not be homophobic. And that's not really the point. But he used a slur. And the NHL should be taking a positive approach to this issue. Gays *just* gained the right to marry in the US. This is a current and pressing human rights issue. And it should be treated as though he dropped an N Bomb. Fine. Suspension. Whatever. But not "who cares". That's just so wrong headed. If you called someone that word here, you'd be censored and at the very least sent a stern warning. A pro athlete on a national broadcast using the word clearly? That's deserving of at least as much punishment.

I suspect there is a lot of uncomfortable people at Hydro today. I wonder if there will be a proper investigation into IGF. There should be an investigation into a lot of things, especially considering the rumors of massive paper shredding and removal of hard drives from government offices recently. I know an RN who voted PC and was particularly angry that her Union repeatedly tried to convince members to work for the NDP campaigns. This happened to be once too. We were in a negotiation during a provincial election and I attended a meeting about the contract negotiations where the Union leadership implored us to do everything we could to get the NDP re-elected.

His defense that it was heated and he didnt know what he said rings pretty hollow to me. So in addition to be classless, and possibly a homophobe, he's also a gutless liar. How about take the opportunity afforded you to man up and apologize. In fact, the implication that he didnt know what he was saying is even worse. It means that slur and how he used it is a regular part of his vocabulary. Quite honestly, I'd suspend him one game. The totality of his actions and words were over the line and if Im the NHL, I'd send a harsh message. But I suspect the NHL will frown on it but not take any formal action.

To a degree. But CFS is definitely something in need of over-all. A lot of incompetence there. And racially motivated decisions that put politics and blame ahead of the best interests of children.

Eric Robinson was deputy premier. Aboriginal. He was caught in a freedom of information request calling the organizers of a fund raiser event for a women's shelter "do good white people". The line was poorly redacted. He not refused to apologize but claimed that it wasn't racial because whites can't be victims of racism and even if he was racist it was entitled to be so since he had been a victim of racism in the past. Class act. Wab was an aboriginal rapper whose lyrics were filled with anti women, anti gay slurs. Many tweets were offensive as well. When he decided he might have a future in politics he suddenly decided that the music industry should stop anti women lyrics. He basically offered a half hearted apology for being anti woman. Then for beinf anti gay. The for making light of the time he ran over a cat. Then for making jokes about aboriginal suffering while he rode in a limo to his five star hotel. The NDP demanded liberal Jamie hall drop out of the election for making anti women remarks but when the liberals asked the same of Wab, Selinger said no because he was sorry he appeared with the premier at a presser where he was snappy and angry and had to be told to calm down by the premier. He then stared down a reporter who questioned him. Also ha a criminal past. And was NDP star candidate. Piece of work.

Beddome might be a nice guy but not a chance. Style goes so far. Substance goes further. Pallister poked fun at his own dry demeanor but I liked his speech. I think the PC's are going to be just fine. Liberals actually aren't a party. Not officially anyway. Needed four seats for status. Cant believe Wab won. An angry misogynyst with delusions of grandeur running against two women and he won. Blame Bokari for her nose dive I guess. Surorsed, pleasently so to see mr do-good-white-people Robinson lose...or losing as it may not be official yet.

I'm not sure id be proud of that campaign. But Selinger was sunk the moment his party turned on him pretty gracious and classy speech by Pallister.

Big win. Disapponted that Robinson won his seat and Wab looks to win too. But it's blue in my area of St Norbert. Fletcher wins. Several upsets and cabinet ministers out. Selinger wins his seat. Bokari looks to lose.

That's ridiculous that one government can do that. Then again, I wish my union had that for me. lol I wonder if the new CEO of Hydro will survive. I hear he might not.
