The Environment Thread
So we need to go back to using aerosols. Will save the planet. Or just sit tight for the inevitable cooling trend that always comes with cyclical climate change which the earth has always experienced. Everything will be okay.

Makes sense. Jets could definitely use another winger.

When Dreger and Bob Mac speak, listen. Same with lawless. They are connected. Not always 100% but there is always a little fire to their smoke.

Hunter hasnt been able to protect anyone so far. But I do agree Nak will be. I think Vince likes him and sees the business potential in a huge Japanese star.

Jets vs Oilers Heritage Classic
Loge are those sections with a couple of tables and nice chairs on the main concourse behind the last row. Comfy. They have server service I believe. Buddy just upgraded from his season tickets last year. He's a corporate sponsor.

MH370
The most troubling thing in that link: Without firm clues about the wreck’s location, the search will then end, the ATSB said this week. That would be awful. A mystery of this magnitude demands to be solved. Cost be damned.

Jets vs Oilers Heritage Classic
Prices have been announced. There is a seating chart with the prices at the link, ranging from $185-$669. My buddy has Loge and was offered to buy them and he was probably not going to due to the cost. They were very expensive. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Peter-Tessier/Winnipeg-Heritage-Classic-Game-Prices-Announced/161/77478

If JP isnt their guy, then for sure they might as well trade.

Donald Trump
So..."I think he might destroy the world, but darn it, he's a Republican so Im voting for him". Idiots. I would have way more respect for these clowns if they actually supported Trump because then at least it would make sense. I know there are some who have said they simply wont vote.

Bombers host NHL draft party before opener
What time is the draft?? We were talking about this. I assumed (probably because Hustler kept saying so), that the game would be going on while the Jets made their pick. Buddy at work has season's tickets and was disappointed in missing the draft and I said oh Im sure at the very least they will announce it in-game if not show it on the screen. So this is a great idea!

Donald Trump
It would be great if they opposed him. If Ryan led a group of moderate Republican's in morally opposition, that would be very impressive. In fact, it might be historic. Problem is, it's the type of history people would talk about 50-100 years from now. In the short term, it would be the end of them all politically. The party of Lincoln, eh? Embarrassing. Stand up and be the party of Lincoln, even if it means your political career is over. Again, problem is, the alternatives to Trump were hateful nuts too. When your "traditional" candidates make Trump look measured and reasonable, the real issue isnt Trump at all.

general trade thread to spit ball ideas
Goalie I agree that top four D is a strong group for a couple years. But if the Jets could land Duchene, you dont think they'd keep Little? Two years remaining, good contract...under-rated player. Wheeler/Little would give you a dynamite right wing for the next two years. In fact, Ehlers-Scheif- Wheeler and Laine - Duchene - Little (or some combo of that) is a heck of a top six. Pushes guys like Perreault, Connor, Dano, Armia, Stafford down to the bottom six and suddenly the Jets are awfully deep. On the other hand, assuming we dont bring in a top six center, who's the Jets #2C in two years?

TSN 1290 (VIA TODAY’S SLAPSHOT): Darren Dreger reports Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba is “absolutely willing to sign and stay in Winnipeg.” Trouba’s a restricted free agent this summer and the center of recent trade speculation. Dreger doubts Trouba will accept a bridge contract. “I believe that that number, term and dollars, is prohibitive from a Winnipeg Jets perspective”, said Dreger, adding that’s what fueling the trade chatter.

the 1290 guys were talking about the "hate Winnipeg" thing this morning and I really think its over blown. Sure, Winnipeg is on most no trade lists but if you have to provide 10+ teams why wouldnt it be? 9 other teams are on the list too. I think its really over blown. Guys have to play somewhere and 400 players can play for New York or Florida or Phx. Really, every player should want to play in Florida due to no State sales tax and great weather but they dont. Some players want to be in New York or Toronto, some dont want the big city thing. Every team has pros and cons and every team has a player who didnt like it and players who did. I think Winnipeg has universally (almost) been liked by the players that spend time here. If anything, its the influence of family that makes the difference. If you're young and want to chase tail and get drunk, sure maybe you want a better night life. But most players are focused on hockey and training and playing. Traveling most of the year and during off-season and Christmas breaks they "go home" or on vacation anyway. Its the wife being bored that can be an issue. Then again, you have kids and you want a decent school that is pretty safe and are treated well in the community. Jets hired Trouba's brother and signed one of his buddies. They took his family on a tour of the city. Even had Chipman's daughter take him to Swift concert. They've done everything to make him comfortable. So either he plays his best as a pro and sucks it up or he lets the Jets figure out the best value. Either way, Trouba has limited options. But then again, he might love it here...and simply want to get paid.
