  1. So interesting thought:

A lot of folks feel that Daniels in Calgary will beat out Loffler for ROTY, but Daniels isn't even one of the receivers on the all star team (where there are four spots), yet Loffler is the safety (where there's one spot). On that basis, it can be argued that Loffler is either the best or second-best safety in the entire league, and that while Daniels is prob a top ten receiver, he's not near the top five. Should Loffler really be the favourite for ROTY?

  2. To recap:

Normand rushes against backups in the final few drives when the game is out of reach for Ottawa and their players are avoiding injuries, drops easy, wide open TD pass = monster game

Nichols plays in same game, has 300 passing, two TDs (both gorgeous throws), an OL full of backups that had him peeling himself off the turf, some beauty deep balls, and his one pick on what should be a first down that volleyball Kohlert hands to the other team = bad game

Reason: Nichols was playing against their fourth string QB with three better QBs ahead of him, and as we all know, backup quarterbacks play defence!

    Makes sense to me! ?‍♂️

  3. So the new scenarios are now as follows if I'm not mistaken:

Edm for 2nd only happens if they win out and both Wpg and BC lose out.

BC for second only happens if they win one more game than WPG in final two (we lose out and they split with SSK or we split with OTT and they sweep SSK)

WPG for 2nd is the highest percentage possibility, because BC needs to finish ahead of us, not just tied, and EDM needs two wins to tie and two WPG losses.

    I predict:

Edm loss to Ham, securing their crossover.

    BC split with SSK

    WPG split with OTT

If WPG wins this week and BC loses, we clinch 2nd.

  4. I'm very much on the fence on this debate, but I will say that it seems quite absurd that in all likelihood, the fourth place team in the west (and third and second) will finish with a better record than the first place team in the east, yet the first and second place east teams get to host playoff games (and one gets a bye). To me, that's the definition of rewarding mediocrity.

Keep the divisions as they are for the regular season, as well as the crossover rule, but in terms of seeding for the playoffs do it based on record. In other words, Sask will remain outside regardless of how they finish, but come playoff time (assuming the season ended today), Wpg gets the bye and BC and Edm both host the semi-finals.

  5. I'd take Carter here in a heartbeat. A lot of people here seem to believe the picture the Als organization is painting and take it as gospel. I think Popp and Cato are the bigger problems over there and Carter is an easy scapegoat because of what folks have seen in the media. Listen to his interview on TSN from this morning. He's calm and well spoken, he only gets fired up on the field. We all heard Nichols yell at Kohlert (and I imagine Smith) after they both dropped passes on Fri, Kohlert's leading to an INT. If the Bombers were in the shape that Montreal is in, the media and everyone here would all be going on about how Nichols is a cancer blah blah blah and highlighting that clip a hundred times over.

Is Carter as bad as he's made out to be? Maybe, but I'm not going to assume that based on what I saw with the Als. I'd rather see for myself. Considering the guy is one of, if not the, best receivers in the CFL.

As wbbfan pointed out, Bolden and Sellers were both considered trouble at one point, and here I am with both of their jerseys proudly  hanging in my closet. Or how about this one for you? Ever hear of a guy named Andrew Harris? How short our memories are about his public words last year and prior

Worst case we cut him, best case we add a 1,000 yard receiver to our roster. Our locker room is tight, he isn't going to change that.

He is a neighbor of Johnathan Hefneys in SC said he watched those swaggerville games and always hoped he would be a Bomber one day. http://www.bluebombers.com/2016/10/09/a-fresh-start-tori-gurley/

Love this and love that the Bombers are creating so much editorial content these days. Very happy to have Gurley on our team, can't wait to see what he does next week!!

  7. Last time I checked, a fumble recovery doesn't result in points unless it happens in the end zone, so even if this ruling was overturned, BC would've still needed to score and there's no guarantee of that happening. Everyone is acting like that call cost them the game. What cost them the game was not being able to convert on third and one because Khari got lazy and tried to call the same play that got them a 50 yard TD earlier. Went back to the well one too many times and Mo was ready for it.

  8. I get what you're saying. I agree that Harris would actually be a better Cdn receive than Kohlert who has been underperforming all year. Regardless, when we're back to one Cdn receiver is like to see JFG starting over Kohlert. He's been great in his limited oppprtunities (showed that again yesterday).
