  1. It’s also worth noting that going vanilla in the second half allows us to keep that many more plays off of film that opponents can’t study. It’s why we’re vanilla in pre-season after all. Every week, every offence in the league disappears for stretches of the game. If ours is disappearing once we have insurmountable leads, as opposed to when the game is still hanging in the balance, and I’m pretty damn ok with that.
  2. But muh yards! But my TOP! Quit it with this notion that scoring points is important!
  3. Ok let me take a stab at this game... Andrew Harris’ biggest run of the night was at the end of the half when just trying to kill the clock. Take that run away (the game we’re doing by taking Nichols long passes away for god knows what reason) and Harris’ numbers aren’t all that great. Add in Harris’ two fumble game against Edmonton. Ergo, Harris is a steaming pile of Rider crap! Did I do it right? What do I win?? We scored more points in the first half of this game than we have in the entire game of any of our three previous wins (five if you want to include pre-season). We’re 4-0 for the first time in 16 years. We are the only undefeated team in the league. We are the only team that has beaten Edmonton and Ottawa. We find a new way to win every week. Are we perfect? No, of course not. But as it stands, at this point in time, we appear to be closer to “perfect” than any other team in the league. I really wish more people watched all the non-Bomber games, we are far and away the most complete, put together team out there. Let’s also consider that we had Hardrick, Matthews, Whitehead, Bighill, Briggs, Hecht and probably more I’m forgetting out for all or most of the game. Everyone keeps saying “if we let up like that against a good team...”. News flash: We did. Against Edmonton. Guess what? They still didn’t beat us, and we didn’t even put up 48 in that one. So considering that we let up against Edmonton with 28 points and won, it’s fair to say had we done hat with 37 points or 41 points or 48 points... one sec, gotta so a quick calculation...carry the three...deduct anything good Nichols did...ignore anything bad Streveler did... yup, we would’ve still won. Point being: you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be better than your opponent. So far we’ve been better than all our opponents, fairly convincingly.
  4. Agreed. Hope Hecht’s injury isn’t as bad as it looked.
  5. The internet told me that Nichols is very inaccurate. Just imagine if we had an accurate passer in there!
  6. And if only Lapo wouldn’t just give up after being up 21-0. What a boring okay call, just another touchdown.
  7. Oof no surprise here, O’Shea taking it easy on his alma matter as expected. Not to mention how upset he is about Kevin Glen’s broken arm!
  8. Streveler wouldn’t have fumbled that pass!
  9. Great, and now Nichols completes a deep pass to Lawler knowing damn well he’d fumble it. goddamn ham n egger!
  10. Argos dominating in time of possession. MBT has EIGHT TIMES as many yards as Nichols. Smh
  11. Yeah it’s crazy how many picked BC as contenders this year too. I actually think Montreal will make the playoffs ahead of Sask too.
  12. You know, several people managed to disagree with me without resorting to sarcasm. So much for reasonable discourse.
  13. Hence why I said “situational awareness”. I imagine he knew what the play call was and was aware as to where they were on the field. I’m curious, if that was the game winning touchdown and we would have lost with it being called back, would you still find the thought that he should’ve been aware of the situation so incredulous? I’m guessing we’d all be a little less forgiving. To be very clear, I’m happy we have o-linemen who like to play on the edge; that was just the wrong time to do it and luckily it didn’t cost us. I feel like this is a very reasonable opinion. Not everyone on this site is fishing for an argument.
  14. Sure, if we’re fine with the nasty play to set the tone then fair enough, but at least have some situational awareness. Do that on 2nd a 20 when we’ve called a screen and the play doesn’t matter. Not when we’re in the red zone and the first read is over the middle for a TD.
  15. Agreed about Bryant and Hardrick but Hardrick has to play smarter. He took two really bad penalties last game, one that took away a touchdown and another that took away a first down. The fact that we still scored on that drive is why no one is talking about that dumb first penalty. That said, it did add to our TOP 😆
  16. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Jacked Galifianakis.
  17. Happy for Khari and Bobby Gorgeous! If it was ever up for debate (it wasn’t) Montreal is definitely better than Toronto. Considering they beat the cats and made a game of it against the Eskimos, I’m very curious to see how they match up against the Riders. That rule change is definitely dumb, but I’m glad that a game most expected to be a blowout ended up being competitive! Should have a couple more good ones this weekend. Also, I can’t remember the last time so many mediocre QBs were starting at the same time...
  18. Will we ever see Mo Leggett again? He never was the same after he returned from injury, but did he really go from being dominant to worse than even what’s montreal and Toronto have on their roster because of that injury?
  19. Assuming Arbuckle isn’t the second coming, I think Sask is going to beat Calgary next week. Also, big victory for Toronto this week is that they only gave up half as many points as last week! Huzzah!
  20. Reilly also missed a wide open Carter on the first play of the final drive of the game, possibly a go ahead touchdown. Instead he underthrew it giving the defender time to catch up, something that Nichols would’ve been ripped apart for on here. I think Reilly is a great QB, but it seems that some here put on blinders to the mistakes that other teams make. I watch every single one of these games, and I’m confident in saying that the Bombers, with Nichols at the helm, would’ve beaten both of those teams last night. On Thursday, Nichols had three deep passes. One to Matthews was called back because of a penalty. One to Adams resulted in PI so we got the yards, but they didn’t count on Nichols’ stat sheet. And the one to Lucky we all celebrated. That’s another 100 yards in passing that wasn’t counted on his statsheet, as no fault to him, that people just choose to ignore, much like people ignore Reilly’s mistakes last night. Let’s not even get started on Bo Levi and his unbelievable contract. You’d really rather have that guy for $900k or whatever the hell it is? Would our team be better with Reilly or Mirchell as QB? NO, because we would have to lose several of our best players to make it happen. Reilly’s team missed the playoffs last year and is 0-3 this year. Until the salary cap is lifted, you can’t just build a team with one player. I’ll take our team, the team that beat the second best team in the west on Thursday, and the team that almost beat Calgary last night. And in terms of the last two times both Nichols and Streveler played Edmonton last year? Nichols won in a blowout, Streveler lost. I 100% thinks streveler is our future QB, but Nichols is the present and I’m more than ok with that since we’re the only team not willing to mortgage our future on one guy. Thank god Walters is our GM.
