@SolomonE56 Farhan not sure who your source is but with MANY issues unresolved The PA and league are NOT close to a deal. Did your source tell you the League failed to meet with PA last Friday? I won’t speak on what football ops are being directed to do but WE havnt seen it. -

Tell LaBatte that when he didn’t resign in Winnipeg and went to Regina. There have been side deals all over the place Montreal was notorious for them. Wetenhal’s insurance company paid money that the CFL auditor couldn’t track because it was an outside private company. The term is work arounds

Yes and he was into car racing and there just happen to be a sponsor there that was interested. Geography plays a huge factor in decisions as does money.

disagree with the first bolded... if wearing a mask in a sparsely crowded stadium can get me watching some live Bombers football... I'm all in!
completely agree with the second bolded... maybe in my younger days with no kids or other responsibilities I'd watch two random teams play... but certainly not right now.

Unfortunately, we need reporters like Dunk who reports on the CFL first & doesn't appear to be using it as a temporary gig to becoming a Jays, Raptors or Leafs beat writer. He raises a few hackles but that is okay.
I'm at the point where I don't care if we have a season or not. Clown show ownership & lack of leadership from the league along with Players who don't trust anything the CFL does is a bad mix for anything going forward seriously & to be successful. I read that the CFL upped the salaries from 33% to 50% to get the players to sign. Why the dicking around? They should have come to the table with the most honest & best proposal right from the start so as to not waste time . But that's not the CFL's way.

Easier said then done....just say you have 3 of 9 of the marquee QBs decide they want their report and pass bonuses or they sit it out....there is a serious drop off in those teams offensive production....tough sell.

Bo-gey-man: noun: An imaginary evil spirit or being, used to frighten children
If you buy into the whole "COVID is a scam/conspiracy" logic, it unfortunately fits right in to that narrative.

I wouldn't consider a 2nd wave as something outlandish and fictional and made up as the bogeyman. That's getting a bit "cocky" in attitude in thinking that come flu season numbers won't shoot up.

Well, we can't answer accurately until we get to the other side. It was the second wave that killed the majority of people in 1919 during the Spanish Flu pandemic.

You only have to look at how easily spikes occur in places like BC where it was totally under control and now is moving in the wrong direction. Even Manitoba where things were going so great and then boom, an outbreak.
That’s the problem.
Even if things are looking top notch at the moment, it all could change dramatically because we still do not know enough about enough to put it to rest.
So, be safe, be careful, wear a mask, and carry on the best you can.

I wish it was that easy. If you look at the % that are still supporting Trump despite the absolute disaster he's been handling the pandemic, and how they adhere to conspiracy theories, it's not a complete surprise.

We got your point that the CFL is shitty and doomed the first fifteen times you posted it...

Wait... American players don't regularly use forward foreign exchange contracts to hedge and minimize their risk to match their risk appetite? Reckless... simply reckless....

I agree.....1/3 of your salary...minus 26% exchange rate.....no guarantee you don’t get cut before the 6 game season is completed. No guarantee you don’t catch the virus. It seems some people seem to consider players simply as a commodity easily replaced and disposable. Perhaps people need to place themselves in the situation, given the circumstances and maybe their perspective might change.

You're either making your own breaks or you're settling for an average/below average life... I know which choice I'd make - always.
I don't think $3000 USD a month is a 'pay cut' for most 'almost pro' football players... a chance to make a living playing football is ALWAYS better than sitting at home
Maybe some have good jobs - but judging by the jobless stats for USA - there's a TON of talented players that don't.
CFLPA as always knows it doesn't have a leg to stand on and as always the CFL knows this too. This is just CFLPA making noise before they sign.

You know, maybe if a single player still living at home having just graduated & has no income coming in & would play for food & a roof over his head even in pandemic. But if a player is married at 26 or 27 with a couple of young kids they have financial comittments like all of us do. They all have jobs at that age as well as responsibilities. Why would they leave their jobs for a pay cut? If I was one of those guys, I'd never play. Not for the money the CFL has offered.

Not always. You wouldn't put your body on the line or be away from your young family for such little money. Most of these guys have jobs in the US. They can't afford to sit around doing nothing for 6 months of the year.
