Why would Bennett's agent get a call? Dude was a free agent all year. Also, apparently the two QBs that were added to our pr at the end of the year have both signed futures contracts to come back. To everyone who keeps talking about Thorpe coming back, please STOP. That ship has sailed and he ain't coming back, now let's stop talking about him.

1 year contract does not apply to a player's first CFL contract. Minimum is 2 years on their first contract. After that they can sign as many 1 year deals as they want.

I think landing Steinauer is a pipe dream. I truely wish we could but it is highly doubtful. He's doing good things with the Fresno State D, and is a Broyles Award nominee. I think this will only open up more doors for him down south.

My list... DC - a competent defense would go a long way. I believe we have some good personnel in place (except the big hole at MLB). If we didn't have the worst defense, we could be a really good team. MLB - Someone who doesn't just get consumed by blockers. WR - Actually scout and bring in some decent receiver talent. Have to think the receiving corps will look a whole lot different next year. Backup QB - I thought we had decent depth at QB, that clearly wasn't the case. Back to the drawing board...

The one good thing about today's game is that the D played sooo poorly that there is no way Hall can be brought back next year... Is there????

If you take Bond and Hardrick off and put them on the 1 game IR, you have to put two more guys on the 46, therefore 4 guys who aren't playing count against the cap. If Hardrick and Bond are the two scratches, only two game cheques count against the cap. Just a thought, but I don't think we are that close to the cap, but it does save some $$$.

I thought the one year contract was only for CFL vets, initial contract is still two year min? He'd be looking at this year plus next. Walters has been known to try and lock players down for 3 years. It makes the most sense for the club. If Mulumba wants to play football, it will have to be the CFL. I believe his NFL window has closed...

Curious what others think fair market value would be for a guy like Mulumba? 2nd overall National draft pick ~ $100k + NFL experience ~$80k - 100k? so 180 - 200k?
