  3. What's going to be the first domino to fall this offseason? http://3downnation.com/2016/11/28/drew-dunked-changes-offing/ I still don't see how Lapo would be considered for a head coaching job, and how would he like to go to Toronto? I thought I heard that he was pushing for the change from Willy to Nichols. How would he like to go somewhere where Willy is his starting QB again...
  4. Expectations for '17... We need to rely on our scouting department a little more. We can't keep going out and signing FAs to fill our holes, it's just not sustainable.
  5. Portage & Main Polo Park: 5.4 km 13 min IGF: 13 km 21 min Charleswood Polo Park: 9.3 km 14 min IGF: 15 km 20 min Garden City Polo Park: 10 km 20 min IGF: 18 km 33 min North Kildonan Polo Park: 12 km 22 min IGF: 18 km 30 min East Kildonan Polo Park: 13 km 25 min IGF: 23 km 29 min East St. Paul Polo Park: 31 km 29 min IGF: 40 km 32 min Trancona Polo Park: 15 km 30 min IGF: 25 km 25 min St. Vital Polo Park: 18 km 27 min IGF: 6 km 11 min St. Boniface Polo Park: 13 km 24 min IGF: 12 km 18 min Brandon Polo Park: 210 km 2h 13min IGF: 227 km 2h 17min These driving times are not that different. Also not in the middle of nowhere, there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Middle of nowhere would be on the ex grounds. Is one of the big factors that there is more free parking at Polo Park? As it's been mentioned, Winnipegers don't like change and year 1 @ IGF was a horrible first impression.
  6. We need to put any QB coached by Beau Baldwin on our neg list as soon as we can.
  7. How can that not be debated? We used to park at Wolseley Plumbing, which is only a little closer than where we park now. We would have to wait in the parking lot to get out, then wait in bumper to bumper on St. Matthews. It was even worse if we parked across the street and tried to leave on Ellice. I didn't complain, we just got to listen to the post game show. Now we walk to our car, not on campus, and we're off. I find it SO much easier to get in and out of there now. I have a strong belief that because the stadium is at the U of M, people think that they have to park on campus. The first year was a cluster f, but it has got a lot better since then, and will continue to get better as improvements are made and people figure out what works for them.
  8. Parking at IGF is a lame excuse not to go to games. I drive to every game and have no problems. Also, you don't have to park on campus, there are plenty of lots around where it is probably just as close to walk to as a campus lot but much easier to get out of at the end. Thing is that it is just different, many people had their routines with the old stadium, and people just need to find what works at the new stadium. Other than the first year at IGF, I find that getting in and out of there is much easier than the old stadium. I think the lack of disposable income with Jets and the losing seasons are the biggest reasons. The team plays so poorly at home, nobody trusts that they are going to be entertained. Even with the season that we had this year, how many games did you go to at IGF confident that the Bombers were going to kick the crap out of our opponent? For me 0, more worried that we are going to play like poop.
  9. Are we really undersized? I would say that our front 7 are actually about average. The only one who may be considered undersized may be Wild. I looked at the 6 playoff teams and did an average at each position, for a quick comparison. Westerman 6'3 249 Cummings 6'3 298 Shologan 6'2 295 Cole 6'3 242 Wild 6'0 215 Bass 6'0 224 Leggett 5'11 192 Average DE 248 DT 291 WIL 224 MLB 228 SAM 195
  10. Hall was offered a two year contract when he was hired in 2015. http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/mike-benevides-will-not-coach-in-the-cfl-in-2015-saskatchewan-roughriders-winnipeg-blue-bombers-football-richie-hall/
  11. I believe only Lapo had a contract that extended beyond MOS's. There is no way the Bombers would have signed Hall to a contract longer than MOS had left on his deal. They had to do that to bring Lapo in, because he wasn't going to give up his TSN gig without some security.
  12. One of the top Free Agents I would like us to pursue would be... Orlando Steinauer. Will Steinauer get consideration for Argo HC, if it became available? Would the Bombers dump Hall if they could bring in Steinauer? Would Steinauer now consider the Bombers a good organization with some stability at the top and a HC with a new multi year contract?
  13. And I totally butchered his name in the title... oops. Bryan Randall.
  14. Apparently playing in the Chinese Arena Football League. I didn't even know they had a league in China. I saw this clip and heard his name and confirmed it was him. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fy6Vo4TMjF8
  15. He will need to excel at being an OC before he will be hired as a HC somewhere else. Would he really be even considered for a HC job anywhere, or is just Winnipegers who think he should be (because he's a nice guy)... Our offense is better, but it's not like we're lighting things on fire. I'm not a huge fan of Lapo, but we really need consistency, which in time will lead to better results. One thing, and I don't think it's the only thing, that I believe has led to some of Calgary's success has been their consistency. Normally if an OC had the success that Dickenson had earlier in his coaching career, he quickly becomes a HC of another team. The players would then have to learn a new system, and new terminology. With the consistency that they've had, the players already know their base and can easily build off that, and just continue to build even more.
  16. The real reason why might be because Chris Williams didn't play in the game...
  17. Ooops... my bad. I guess my plan doesn't work then.
  18. I believe we dressed 21 Nationals last week, when we only need to dress 20. Correct?
  19. Last week the Bombers started 8 Nationals. I think Gurley starts over Feoli-Gudino and Warden comes off. When Flanders goes in, one of Denmark/Smith/Gurley comes out and either Harris stays on or Feoli-Gudino goes in.
  20. The Eskimos didn't tell anybody they weren't participating. TSN first thought there were technical difficulties with the mics until they realized that the Eskimos weren't wearing them. I don't know what to think the punishment is going to be. CFL punishments are normally a joke, but you're now pissing off a huge $$$$ contributor to the league.
  21. Gurley is exactly what we need in our lineup. I don't even want to get my hopes up...
  22. If they put him on the 1 game IR, they have to put someone else on the roster, and both of their salaries count against the cap.
  23. One year ago it was the incident with Austin on Stala, and now this. He's a repeat offender for making physical contact with someone he shouldn't. I do not believe he should be allowed in the stadium at the next Ticats game. Zero tolerance for contacting an official.
  24. This team needs to start putting up 7s instead of 3s. I fear that this could be our downfall against some better teams down the stretch. I don't know if we could come back if we were down against a good team. Hopefully it will come.
