  1. We could do this, we could see that, a trade? Possibly. Come to us for a change. An OLman? Skill guy? Who? Who? Who? Isn't it Tuesday yet?
  2. It's not foreign. What I meant was that Elizabeth May can get away with acting that stupid in public and the leftist media will just ignore it, or worse, make excuses for it. And that's a double-standard. But what I'm saying is; what you say the leftist media ignores, happens by the 'rightist' media who will ignore whomever it is, who does their stupid act in public. It's the same thing from all sides. It's mostly all bullfrog.
  3. Yeah, acting in an inappropriate manner - totally foreign to the likes of the PCs and the Liberals.
  4. Just don't let KBF see this, he'll be all over this Ralph thing, and unlike the former players...he won't drop the matter.
  5. I think the sponsors have it all wrong..it's the fans at the games that should be wearing sponsor patches and colourful shirts, and beanie hats with spinning flyer ads. It's the fans that have to be noticed by the players...they're the ones with all the bloody money.
  6. I've lived in New Zealand for the last 8 years and haven't noticed advertising on police cars - I need to look more closely! You can't see it it from the inside.
  7. yes he sure is. I'm not trying to derail this thread but...Mark WTF is that avatar of? It' a selfie abstract.

  9. I've seen a lot of people who I know have never owned a stock in their life crying about the sale of GM stock "at a steep loss". When the government received that stock of GM, it was pretty much worthless. Everyone was just hoping GM would survive. The fact that the government was able to get $3.5 billion for a company's stock, that was essentially bankrupt, is a big win, and it's too bad people want to play partisan politics and criticize the government for realizing some value on something that could easily have been a complete zero. Should the government have held on to the GM stock? If they had, and GM had gone back in the dumper, then the same people would be crying about how they could have had $3.5 billion and pooped it away because they didn't sell when they had a buyer on the table. The one thing I've noticed is that any information can be spun to the negative if put through different filters. I don't object to our Gov. selling stock of any company…at the right time. I just don't necessarily consider "the right time" being when you're balancing the budget. Could be a coincidence…but I doubt it. I agree that the senate does serve a purpose…but not the way it's being done now. BUT The Cons didn't do the best they could in Senate reform because despite appointing Senators that the Provinces have elected, they still have "appointed" Senators whenever they see fit. They were not alone in that practice, and that practice must stop…for true Senate reform. You can't just leave senate seats empty, they need to be filled and if the provinces can't be bothered to get off their asses and put senators on the ballot then what's to be done? Actually you can leave the seats unfilled if you create and follow a plan to minimize the amount of seats that would represent true Senate reform. You don't "need" that many Senators. It would take work, but if you're true to your words...
  10. I'll add: - Parliamentary privilege was reached 3 times by his Gov. This is the 1st time for any democracy. - wilfully violated the election spending limit in 2006 - Changed a $16 Billion dollar surplus into a record $56 Billion dollar deficit - one of the Cons promises was more accountability - but Harper has shut down Parliament twice, once to stall on a vote, and then again to avoid a vote of non-confidence. - the latest Budget was fudged by cuts to Health care, Coast Guard, dumping GM stock at a steep loss, raiding the the federal emergency fund and spending the UI surplus I could go on, because there is way more to Harper's bizarre politics, but I tire of these "politics" and so I'll stop. I just wanted to point out that the man who represents Canada isn't all he's made out to be. Or maybe he is.

  12. Spoiler alert if you have the game PVR'd. Bravo to the Canadians in their comeback victory over Sweden. Down 3-0 after 1st period, they scored 6 in the next 2 to win 6-4. Awesome games played by the team, especially Ekblad, Hall and Crosby.
  13. It appears that Walters has Westerman'ed the Argos and BC. Nice.
  14. A big part of Manitobas situation is because past NDP governments made it an unfriendly place to do business. The Alberta NDP campaigned on making corporations and specifically oil and gas companies pay more. They are actively looking to make it a less business friendly environment. Wish I was a teacher, then I'd be taken care of by the NDP. As it stands they're just going to tax me more, slow down an already slow oil field which means I'll earn less with less work, all in the name of someone else should pay for the spending. **** the NDP and their ass backwards ideals. There is definitely a fine line between being business friendly and bending over. What you're implying that the teachers get, is exactly what people are saying…that they wish they were big business…'cause they are being taken care of. Big business will use you, and when they see fit, leave you holding the empty money bags. Anyways, none of that has happened yet in Alberta, so the fear is worse than the reality…so far.
  15. Well you will never change your mind and I will never change your mind so it's rather moot. But i'd vote for Harper 100 times if I could. Absent the boogyman stories, his government has been good for the country. Even when they do things I dont agree with, such as lowering the GST, it was what he promised to do so he did it. But that's the thing, you cannot just ignore what Harper is doing to the Country, its people, and the many, many rights that his Gov. has curtailed. It's not always about the money. And you say you trust that man? No, we will never agree on that.
  16. You should really be shuddering with whom is in power at this very moment.
  17. Change should not be feared because of change alone. What happens elsewhere does not always recur again. Manitoba's situation is entirely different than Alberta's, and I'm sure that will be evident in the coming months. It was time for a new Gov. in Alberta, and you got it in a shocking way. I can only hope that Canada gets a similar change on the Federal level. We need it.
  18. ……………NDP - WIN!!!…………..
  19. You'll probably have to shell out a few more bucks for what should be a new best seller for snacks…..the Manitoba Mousse - ……….and in the shape of hockey pucks……...….Yum!
  20. Well, for me, I'm going back to the only draft I can rely on... …………..don't care how many rounds it takes!
