Isn't there a good chance Benevides does nothing and sits at home collecting pay from BC?.

No because his contract ended and was canned before his new one took effect. Wally's a smart ol sumbitch...

Wally and you are both geniuses!!!

there's never been a receiver that played in the CFL that had a significant NFL career, as in a reasonable amount of playing time and receptions.

How many CFL receivers have more than a few catches in the NFL?

as you all said, Duron probably has lots of interest, (son of a hall of fame receiver?)

If he has a big NFL career, he'll be the first second one.

    except

Fernandez spent his entire 6-year NFL career (1987-1992) with one team: the Los Angeles Raiders. During that span, Fernandez played in 86 games and amassed 209 catches for 3,764 yards and 19 touchdowns.

    Horn in New Orleans?

Rocket Ismail played for a while.

I sense a good percentage of STH's are eternally loyal and would make the commitment as long as there wasn't a severe penalty attached if they couldn't fulfill the commitment. If 10,000 people took the Bombers up on this deal, it would cost $1,000,000. I wonder if this was one of the differences in opinion that led to Jim Bell's departure. As a fan I like it. If I was the CFO, not so sure.

We'll have to wait for Grey Cup ticket prices to be released but I wonder if they'll be artificially inflated...say by $100 per ticket??

The Grey Cup tickets don't need to be inflated.  The team can inflate the 2016 or 2017 season ticket prices to make up the $100 lost.

Mike walked into a team with little Canadian talent.  The Non-Imports brought in to fill the holes got hurt (Lucas, Alexander, Neufeld, etc).  The team dealt with multiple injuries (Suber, Sears, Moore, Watson, Anderson, Willy) and were competitive in many games (sans Edmonton and the Ottawa game).

The team showed flashes... Leggett at safety, Bruce Johnson at HB, Sears & Wild at LB, Anderson on the DL, and Willy at QB.  The Canadian backup talent is younger and more promising than that of past years too.

In past years, our team mismanaged games, and the play clock with veterans at the helm.  Sure, at the start of the year we did the same.  At the end of the game on Saturday, we looked to be the team with the better CFL game knowledge.  At the end of the half, BC screwed their chance at the TD.  At the end of the 4th quarter, Rory Kolhert hit the deck with 2 seconds left for one more play.  It's plays like this that will win games for us in the future.

  5. We have to remember that the penalty stats on the website will only be for accepted penalties.  Declined penalties will not be tracked.

The reason I bring this up is that that with low offensive first down conversion rates, the defences can decline more penalties as the offending offence will be in a punting position.

The issue is sale of new jerseys and is an issue with modern day sports.

If for every $200 jersey the team made $100, then the team would have an extra $500,000 for every 5000 jerseys sold.  No new jerseys, no $500,000.  People will still wear their old jerseys if they always look the same.

  7. This year we are 6-3 using the players this coaching staff wants to use.  Last year we were 3-15 using the players many people on this board want to use.

Seriously people, are you complaining about winning?

These types of decisions have been made by Don Matthews, Wally Buono, and many other winning coaches before them.

The new Ottawa Ownership group wanted nothing to do with the "Renegades", so I suppose Calgary figured they'd take the old 'gades jersey, but call themselves "outlaws" ?

It's inspired by the black jersey they wore in the 1994 Labour Day game.

Nothing to do with Ottawa... at all.... http://www.calgarysun.com/2012/09/02/stamps-excel-as-men-in-black

I am aware of that, but IMO the first two images are more similar than the 3rd.

Who cares about the Renegades, these jerseys look like the REDBLACKS.

  9.

I'm not sure why Wild wasn't Defensive Player of the Week...Fraser and Vega were also rotating in with the first team D as was Louie Richardson...because Sask's run game is so dominant at this point, it may be that they're toying with the idea of having our 4 DI's consist of

    one LB, (Kuale/Wild)

one DB (looks like Unamba over Sears at this point)

one returner, (looks like Stoudermire who also got reps with 1st team D)

one DLineman, (instead of dressing Cotton)

Cotton wasn't getting 1st team reps at this practise...I didn't see him in any of the packages on O either.

Wild didn't get POTW because McCoil scored twice on D. That wins you the award every week.

So shouldn't McCoil be the Offensive Player of the Week?  TDs are not a defensive stat.

  10.

Hey at least it's green. I suppose they don't have much white. Imagine if reebok made the riders black and white or something!!

Remember when the Riders came out with the red and grey uniforms, or the Ti-Cats wore Red & Black?  That is not their colors.

The Bombers have been blue and nearly always had blue.   Was there this much outrage when the gold jerseys with the black letters showed up?  How about the all white jerseys and pants?

  11.

So wait a second. The cost of one of these jerseys is being added to my property tax bill? No? Oh. Wait. The cost of one of these jerseys is going to be passed on to me in the form of an enforcement ticket? No? Oh.

It's not a cash grab. It's options. No one forces it on you. No one makes you buy it. The people that do buy it obviously like it. If it puts an extra buck in the leagues pocket so what

of course it's a cash grab, every time they come up with a new jersey it's a cash grab. Did they need to do new jerseys a couple years ago? No but they can sell more if there's a new style. It's kind of hard to sell a retro jersey from a short time ago so they're going with this crap. I am just sick and tired of seeing ugly jerseys. The ones we wear now are gross, these ones seem like they'll be even grosser.

Stop giving us crap for a jersey and I bet you grab more cash out of it.

Hammys new uni looks nice http://cfl.ca/photo_gallery/gallery/13249

Nicest ones I've seen so far.

But they're just black. There's nothing to it. It's the same with BC's. Maybe I like BC's better because of the color scheme. I do like the symbol on one side of the ticats helmet. I dunno. This whole array of uniforms just seems like a big disappointment to me.

Well they are actually black, yellow and grey. At least they have the both colours correct. Come to think of it every team except the bombers have the correct colours......

    Lime green Saskatch-a-toon?
