@garrettbillan1: @Wpg_BlueBombers Bellefeuille needs to be fired today & Oshea needs to examen how he holds players accountable; he currently doesn't.

@SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 Doug Brown tried to ask him after the game about the penalty discipline. Osh wouldn't answer. The jig is up..

@garrettbillan1: @SteveMorley62 Steve as a former player under O'Shea, what are your thoughts on how he disciplines players for stupid/bad penalties?

@SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 last year, he would show your penalty on the big screen in team meetings. That's it! Garrett you deserve better!

The guy is a fkn troll because he was cut... Wonder what he would have said on twitter when we were all saying he was the weak link on the OL

He becomes active with the fan base on social media and he's a troll?

If you scroll down his tweets beyond today, he's been disgustingly optimistic about the Bombers and their chances in games. Very supportive of the team and his former team mates. But like the rest of us, today seemed to be a final straw.

Exactly.  Providing analysis is not trolling.

I could pull up 20 tweets of his that would anger you with their unrealistic optimism.

  2.

embarrassing that they make a firing and MB stays.

MB sucks...but it's hard to blame him for having to gameplan around Brohm as his starter. There isn't a coordinator in the CFL past or present that was going to be able to do anything of value with him,

By the same token those Special Teams units that just got their coach fired employ a lot of Kyle Walter's supposed improved Canadian depth.  I mean it's hard to believe that Nic Demski and AJ Jefferson running straight forward for punt return touchdowns were the result of being out schemed.  Seems more likely we just got out physicalled.

  3. It's weird to say the estimated earliest recovery time is 6-8 weeks. Isn't that the same, technically speaking, as saying the estimated earliest recovery time is 6 weeks?

If he misses 8 or so weeks that's thanksgiving. We probably won't be completely eliminated from the playoffs by then so he will play if he can. If the priority was to keep him healthy by avoiding playing him in pursuit of lost causes he wouldn't have been playing the second half in Hamilton to begin with.

Let's face it some kind of cheesy end of season two gaming winning streak has saved coaches jobs before and I'm sure 7-11 or whatever will play better than 4-14. Whether it should or not is another issue.

  4. Winnipeggers are cheap.  There is no doubt.  This isn't a rumour, a stab, or a joke.  It's true.

They don't like weeknight games, they don't like Fridays, they don't like Saturdays and they don't like Sundays.

8 pm games are too late, but 6:30 pm is way too early.  7pm games have fans, but some like 7:30 better.

Beers are too expensive... unless you're building a beer snake.

Everyone loves their Bomber gear... at the locker room sale.

They want all the sporting events, concerts, entertainment at their fingertips... but man does it look good on their flat screen TV.

Even the playoff games of the past have not been attended well... Semi Final vs Edmonton.... East Final vs Hamilton...

    150% this.......

Or to put it another way 27,000 or so is a pretty good average attendance for a mino league sports franchise and better than most other teams in the exact same league.

east Final vs Hamilton was sold out. Check your facts kid.

  5. I've been to about 12 Grey Cups. I've travelled all over the country and sat in all kinds of weather to watch all kinds of teams I barely cared about play in the game. That being said, I don't have tickets to this years game and don't plan too.

There isn't one big reason I'm not going but the pricing doesn't help. To buy my seasons for the Coupe and take the wife and the boy (neither would have been pleased with being excluded) would have been $900. That's a lot of money for a family. We all have to make our own budgetary decisions and maybe others would have had bought the tickets. But one afternoon watching Hamilton vs Edmonton in potential minus 20 at almost the cost of half a trip to Disneyland didn't work for me. And that's coming from a guy who has spent thousands and thousands of $$$ so the CFL product over the years.

Had the tickets been $200 instead of $300 would I have considered it more strongly? Maybe. If the Bombers were a legit contender would that have changed my decision? Maybe. But neither is the case, and as much as I feel kind of guilty not going I probably won't.

I also don't have a lot of hope for some huge last minute walk up. I think people have made their decision. You'll probably see corporations and sponsors buy a bunch of tickets to make it respectable. But with the Bombers and Riders all but out it won't be regular joes.

Then again if they land the Biebs for half time ya never know.

  6. The new rules give them more chances to throw the flag.  Not surprising that the number of them has gone up.  As a start, they could eliminate the chintzy 'Unsportsman' penalties for pretending to eat or pretending to go for a flag. Those type of penalties do nothing but slow the game down.

See, thats the thing.  You know it's a penalty so you shouldn't go ahead and do it.

It's like going 20 KM over the speed limit then getting shocked you got a speeding ticket.

I think the point a lot of us would make is that they're writing speeding tickets for being 2 KMs over the speed limit.

  7.

To me reigning in means he held them back, probably in hopes of not tiring them more on a short week.

On CJOB he said he wished he'd reigned them in a bit more during the prep week. So yes, as Jpan85 said, MOS is maybe saying he let them get carried away with overconfidence after the win in Sask.

I know this is hardly scientific but they looked flat during the pre-game warm-ups compared to TiCats, without much urgency in their step. Whenever I see that pre-game nonchalant-look, they always lose.

They lost the game before they stepped on the field. And at the point where JFG took that bonehead drive-stalling penalty for an illegal block, the chickens came home to roost.

Not sure I totally agree with your larger point but that was an egregiously stupid play and highly costly.

  8. Remember when everyone around here ripped Lawless for saying the Bombers were mistaken to stick with Joe Mack instead of trying to get in on Kent Austin?

Meanwhile Brohn probably sucks. Like most backup QBs by the way. But what's with everyone just quitting when Drew went down? Talk about zero mental toughness. Despite the narrative this team does not mirror it's coach at all.

  9. If ether get 28,000 tonight that's a lot more than last year.

I have never had anyone tell me safety or the HeritAge Classic is the reason they don't have seasons. And all my friends are both Bombers and Jets fans. Cost and the fact the team has sucked are the only reasons I ever hear for not have ST's.

They've won 4 out of 21 games in that stadium. That's REALLY really bad.

  10. Reebok is more likely the perpetrators of the stupid jerseys than the marketing department of the Bombers. Also, almost everyone from marketing when those jerseys were introduced has moved on.

What I didn't like was the dishonest marketing of the 2011 season as the last in the old stadium and 2012 as the first in the new when anybody who had so much as had a friend in the construction industry or trades knew they wouldn't be playing the new stadium until 2013.
