  1. So here's the thing...we get a bonus game in AB this year so we rejoice. Then we find out our friend is getting married today up east of Red Deer near the SK border. Sigh. So 17to85 and I are going to attempt to watch it on my phone during the reception, if I can get some damn WiFi in the hall. Of course, after amore than a decade of futility at McMahon, this means we'll probably win because we aren't there...

You can skip it we will all understand! I'm sure there will be plenty of video, highlights, photos and discussion you guys can view later of the .......wedding. Enjoy going to the game ;)

  2. Officially ratified.

Will update with details as they roll in

No more 9-game injured list. 6-game injured list now.

44 man active roster, 2 man reserve (instead of 42/4)

Practice roster expanded from 7 to 10 (12 to 15 in fall)

NO MORE NON IMPORTS AND IMPORTS

They are now known as "nationals and internationals"

    That's dumber than REDBLACKS.

Just call the players REDWHITES or REDWHITESANDBLUES

    That would be less confusing.

  3. Sask players (labatte, Foley and Durant) still whining about the deal and want the execs that they helped bring in to resign. How about stop whining and play some football.http://980.greenzonefootball.com/story/rider-vets-calling-change-atop-cflpa/367187

For the most part (Nick Moore's tweets from last week) I love how our players have handled it. If they're unhappy with the CBA, and I'm sure they are, then handle it they way it should be handled - internally. None of this crap like you're seeing out of Calgary and Saskatchewan.

Exactly. I get they are unhappy and rightfully they should be. It wasn't the greatest deal for the players. Your not going to make every player happy with that deal but nothing you say now will change anything for the next 5 years. Just be thankfully for a free $12,000 bonus and the fact you have a job for the next 5 years if you last that long.

    oh wow.

From now on, all you have to do to be a "national" (non-import) is be a Canadian citizen at the time of your first contract signing.

    That changes A LOT

Not all that knowledgeable about the process but generally doesn't it take quite awhile to get Canadian citizenship, like at least a few years?  A lot of these players who come up here from the U.S. might be out of the league by the time they get their Canadian citizenship.

    Damn beat me too it.

I'm not sure how that changes that much.  Guys from the states aren't going to come up and get Canadian citizenship in time to get a contract in place.  You would still need to be a Canadian Citizen long before you ever get a football contract.  It's not like they can come get one and then the next day sign a CFL contract and be a national player.

Very interesting...starting 3 non-imports on the o-line with Goossen at center and Neufeld at right tackle. Morley as backup RG.

With no backup center, I wonder if the coaching staff will give Goossen an entire game to prove himself, to evaluate whether he's ready to begin the season as starting center??

Ford still not playing...I wonder if his roster spot is in serious jeopardy?

Graig Newman starting at MLB is interesting.

If Neufeld can hold his own at RT then this could be a good thing. Dan Knapp seems to have won the RG position purely because of his physical awesomeness? And because he's such an upgrade over Morley? Not sure why else we'd start an import at that position in the future, unless we have that kind of roster flexibility.

    Physical awesomeness?

    HAIR AWESOMENESS!!!

His hair is way crazier now!

Can't see anything wrong with what you did, so don't feel bad.

Unless you brought in an outside bottle of water or some spits!!!!!!!!

Yup.  and make sure you dont sit in the end zone.  You will be quickly escorted over to the assigned seating area.

Let us know how Hall and Willy look today.   ;)

Just to be clear, there isn't a practice today. They're travelling.

I guess you missed the smirk face???

I don't think im overly concerned, cuz let's be honest here, willy is the guy we will be moving forward with. Knew about Marves issues when we signed him, was talked about quite a lot, but... honestly, last night, it made me wonder if that was a different robert marve :P

I don't think marve will see much game action this season, perhaps on 2nd or 3rd and shorts but... he looked pretty darn good last night, running and passing. Especially his mobility in the pocket, truly does bring a different look than the other qb's on the roster.

I like the kid, hey man, we all do silly things when we are younger, sounds like his  father might have been a little pushy too, good for the kid to get away from some of his past.. whats in the past is in the past, looked good yesterday. Obviously bombers checked him out quite thoroughly.

Thing is, he's pretty young so maybe just maybe taking a year off football helped him.

The expectation that athletes in their early 20's are supposed to behave like Mother Teresa just because they happen to be athletes is bound to disappoint.  More often than not they will behave just like any other 21 year old male.  Unless they have more disposable income, then they may behave worse.

Nothing on his rap sheet raises my eyebrows.  Been there, done that.  The 3 knee surgeries might be a concern if I hadn't seen him running at practise.  Powerful, smooth strides, quite an effortless runner actually.

Seeing him take off like that reminds me of Durant.  He has big legs and looks like he can break a few tackles before being brought down.  Don't normally want to see your QB having to dive for a first down but that was impressive and shows he's got guts.

  9.

Do you guys work for a living or...live off the street or something?  Stay at home dad?  Live off your wife type of thing?

I more want to know because, you know, IT'S NOT FAIR, and all that.   :)

Close...I'm in my 30's, have a GF, a condo, no kids and a good job. I booked the week off work so I could attend Bomber training camp this week :)

    Hardcore fan right there!
