  1. The Rock was a way better wrestler at that point in time....not even close. I think the draw with Austin was his not giving a Fack about what anyone thinks and the over the top awesome moments like Bedpanning McMahon or spraying him with Beer.
  2. WCW really took off when each week they poached a big name from WWF... it was crazy how huge the roster was and how many superstars they had. WWE were the ones scrap heaping at that point in time.
  3. My point is that Mike is way off on saying Lankford is terrible. If we are to judge a player on having a bad game then Thorpe should of been cut last week because he had a terrible game. Denmark also has had several games where he is completely invisible. Receivers are easily replaceable, that is probably the easiest next to RB to find talent to fill the position. I was pointing out earlier that Thorpe can be replaced by having Harris catch balls out of the back field. Sitting Thorpe will not be a big loss. Having Dressler replace anyone aside from Darvin Adams is a huge boost regardless of who he replaces.
  4. Wrestling isn't popular enough for a start up to risk blowing money... MMA isn't even worth spending a tonne of money on starting a promotion as it's popularity is declining. What they need to do is mix a bit of scripted wrestling with a bit of real MMA fighting and add a dash of prizes to be won and we can get the next best thing........ - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  5. Am I sadistic in hoping that Hamilton goes winless?
  6. Compared to Thorpe who should of had two fumbles last game meanwhile Lankford makes a TD saving tackle... yes he has.
  7. This is totally false, come on now. He doesn't suck and isn't a bad kick returner. The guy has played very well for us this season.
  8. So you're suggesting any sexual innuendo gimmicks defined that era? If you are only looking for that then I'd say Sable would be way bigger then Val Venis or the Godfather.
  9. I think this decision is much easier with a guy like Harris who can easily replace Thorpe as a physical short yardage receiver that can grind a few extra yards.
  10. That sounds about right, big money for everyone involved. I don't see any other fight in the near future generating that kind of revenue in any of the sports...
  11. If I'm Hamilton I wouldn't trade him unless Franklin is coming their way....
  12. 5 wrestlers? I'd easily have Rock, Austin, Mankind, HHH, Micheals, Angle, Edge, Christian, Hardy Boys , New Age Outlaws etc... way more guys that truly defined that era. I barely would put Godfather over Flash Funk lol. He'd be on par with 2 Cool and Rikishi for comic side relief gimmicks that lasted longer then a year lol.
  13. Who could afford the guy though?
  14. But was it a good promo, it was the same promo over and over again. People only enjoyed the hoe train. Decent worker and his feuds were all light hearted. I definitely did not see him as a HOF caliber talent though.. that was weird.
  15. The Godfather only got over because he had gorgeous women following him around....
  16. Thorpe fumbled twice last week... I'm willing to let the guy have a few more games. You can't bench every rookie if they have a bad game once in a blue moon.
  17. I wish that we could get the Ticats next...
  18. Also Reinbold looks like a genius escaping from that mess... I wonder if they approach LaPo to coach them next season?
  19. No kidding... why does it take the fans and probably the sponsors to scream and shout for Hamilton to realize this was a bad idea? I understand being desperate... but this is ridiculous?
  20. Maybe Austin wants to get fired?

  22. I didn't see that much pressure on Jennings... I saw a guy who was beyond rusty. The guy had steamboats and still tossed a pass right at the DB. With Reilly he was throwing on the run... several feet above the receivers heads. Williams made some absolutely amazing catches but Reilly was way off. These weren't passes with guys right in his mug where he just tossed it up as a prayer. He had to leave the pocket at times and throw on the run which he used to do with great ease... yet against the Riders his throws were far off.
  23. Signed the guy probably to mentor the guys on the Moose, smart move.
  24. The issue I had was Hurl not being able to make the tackle mainly on Durant...
