  1. I'd like to make a distinction between 'letting a guy walk' and a guy 'wanting to test the market'. Letting a guy walk is when a team doesn't bother making a reasonable offer to keep a guy around. I bet we have. A guy testing the market is when that same guy thinks he's worth more than a reasonable offer. I bet that's happening right now.
  2. I'd be happy to see BJ Cunningham in the mix. Anyone that can produce in that dogshit offence is worth a look.
  3. https://www.cfl.ca/2018/05/02/lions-acquire-first-round-selection-pick-swap-bombers/ We traded with BC in 2018... we gave up our 2018 first round pick (7th) and 2nd round pick (16th) in return for their 2019 first round pick (and their 2018 2nd round pick(12th)) Not too shabby.
  4. Gimme five bees for a quarter!
  5. Nothing, CFL teams do it already. Josh Bartell leaps to mind. Getting these players more exposure will probably lead to even more signings from around the world. I really don't see the drawbacks to any of this. It's not like CFL players are getting siphoned away to Europe... sounds more likely the opposite will happen, if anything happens at all.
  6. Reminds me a bit of how Americans look down their noses at the CFL... before getting to know anything about it. Their loss, and they don't even know it.
  7. https://www.tsn.ca/ambrosie-secures-four-more-international-deals-1.1253829 Other elements of the agreement include: — Developing additional coaching exchanges. — Finding ways for doctors and physical therapists on both sides to share knowledge and practices. — Seeking joint business opportunities in broadcast, digital and gaming circles, That includes the potential development of a Nordic edition of the 'CFL Football Frenzy,' app. "There is so much we can do together and learn from one another," said Lars Carlsen, Athletic Director of the Danish football federation. Carlsen, the head coach of Denmark's national team, attended the B.C. Lions' training camp last year. "There are opportunities to grow the game across the board," added Jorgen Benestad-Johansen, Sports Manager of the Norwegian football federation who also served as a guest coach with the Western Mustangs. The four federations boast 149 clubs and 10,900 total players.
  8. Selkirk, we make fun of Selkirk around here.
  9. ^^^ That's F'n crazy. Sometimes coaches really don't know what's best.
  10. That article references Andrew Harris making just under 200k
  11. I thought Hecht was more than adequate when he filled in last season. Guy made a couple big plays in limited playing time and I don't remember him hopping over the pile after the play Hurl-style... we could do worse.
  12. Former Bomber and first overall Faith Ekakitie cut in MTL, along with vet DB baller Joe Burnett
  13. Bothered all the way to the bank perhaps. 3 years guaranteed money and all the built in excuses for failure that he could ask for.
  14. Lends weight to the 'scrap the divisions' argument that pops up every offseason.
  15. I chalk it up to this year's GC being the 'who-gives-a-damn' bowl. Oh look CGY is back in the big dance, again, against a team only 2 years removed from a championship themselves... and making their 3rd appearance in 4 years. Swap out either of these teams with literally anyone but T.O. and viewership probably would have been higher. Guess we'll never know. I didn't watch it live, either (because they can't both lose and I didn't care who won)
  16. Gaitor through 2020 is awesome. I can't imagine he's breaking the bank, either. I was stoked when we signed him, one of Rigmaiden's earlier BC carryovers that has really paid off. BC must be kicking themselves over the talent they've let slip away in the past couple seasons. Stability, baby. We got it.
  17. The mark of a professional. There's nothing to do be done but put one foot infront of the other and carry on with the task at hand.
  18. Needs a catchier name like "LaPocalypse"
  19. From Kelly Moore on twitter (copied/pasted to spare you guys on mobile): -DE Jackson Jeffcoat told reporters during a media conference call that being wanted by @Wpg_BlueBombers was a factor in his signing a two year extension and foregoing CFL free agency. -Jeffcoat says he "thought" he had something going with Cincinnati- only to receive a call personally from the Bengals because they did not have contact info for his agent- who has since been fired. -By the time he hired a new representative, he was more or less going to be training camp fodder. So he got in touch with Mike O'Shea, and then Kyle Walters. Numbers started getting tossed around about a month ago, -And then negotiations took on a more serious tone over the last couple of weeks, leading to this morning's announcement. Jeffcoat says the Bombers are close, but he's not interested in being close. -And he sees Wpg as his best chance to win a championship for the first time since at least middle school. Sounds like we are lucky he slipped through the cracks. Glad he's back in the fold.
  20. Walters tried to upgrade our receivers by adding Bowman last year. Who knew the tires had fallen off him that badly. Considering the turmoil going on all over the West and the number of 1-year contracts being signed from here on out you'd think Winnipeg is considered the best bet for a sure playoff cheque or two this season.
  21. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/01/17/bombers-sign-outstanding-lineman-stanley-bryant-one-year-contract-extension/ Bryant has been extended one year.
  22. Congrats Brodie and KBF! You're looking fresh faced buddy!
  23. What did iso used to say? Million dollar athlete, 10 cent brain?
