  1. One day I'm watching random science videos on YouTube (as one does) when all of a sudden a suggested video popped up with Atomic's face on it. "WTF", I exclaimed. Intrigued, I sat and watched a one hour documentary called 'The Fantastic Mr Feynman' and learned a lot about a very interesting and intelligent man (Feynman, not Atomic ). It's definitely worth watching.
  2. I mean going by avatars alone... I know who my lifeline would be on Millionaire. You know, if I had a time machine.
  3. Stealing this. Since 2008? How have I not heard of LMGTFY til now?
  4. Section 118 is the family section, pretty sure it has been since day 1. It is non-alcoholic, it is adjacent to the tunnel the Bombers run out of (kids love that ****), and it is as far away from the North end rowdies and the rum hut as physically possible. Meanwhile, drink prices are already ridiculous, security is visible everywhere, and police roam the concourse. The 'text for help' ad also gets played a half-dozen times a game. Short of banning booze, which would be a disaster, I think the Bombers were already doing more than enough to accommodate families and protect their precious spawn from pesky drunks. Roll in the family tail gate play area, air brush tattoos, children's store, and now family pricing... and I'm left wondering what a family has to complain about?
  5. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who didn't bother following the link initially because it was April Fool's... it's just like Dan Harmon and co. to pull a stunt like that. Very funny episode. Love this show.
  6. This will be stuck in my head for days, I know it.
  7. I'm a huge Sunny in Philly fan; I'm happy to watch Sunny on repeat 7 days a week. Kaitlin Olsen's new sitcom on Fox, 'The Mick', wasn't as irreverent as Sunny, but it still had me laughing.
  8. I was impressed by Evan Foster in the DL/OL one on ones. He's not very big but he's tenacious and energetic, the guy never slowed down. Johnny Augustine looks like a solid well rounded back who can block... we could have use for a guy like that.
  9. http://www.cfl.ca/2017/03/21/combine-101-basics-behind-prospect-drill/ Check out the first video... the clip they use to demonstrate DL drills shows Rupert Butcher making someone look very small.
  10. Lots of moaning on the webs about fight choreography in Iron Fist. Is it so bad? I've seen more than my fair share of kung fu flicks... Iron Fist is not bad. I loved the Drunken Master fight scene. Smiled the whole time.
  11. YES. There is so much they could do with this character... one of my personal faves. Cloak and Dagger were supposedly being kicked around by ABC but I haven't heard any news for some time.
  12. Seen today on Reddit: http://3downnation.com/2017/03/19/interview-canadian-football-video-game-almost-ready-launch/ A stripped down NCAA/Madden clone... without official CFL backing... 9 teams representing the 9 pro football cities, including the "Winnipeg Cavaliers" and "Hamilton Stingers"... packaged for the XBone and PS4, the game won't have options to customize team or player names, jersey #'s and so on... but if it makes it to PC these files will be easily modified, making it possible to duplicate team rosters. Quickplay only... without a career mode, GM mode, or any mention of multiplayer... the only innovative and enticing feature is the waggle, where receivers go into motion and you need to manually snap the ball at the right time or your receivers just run offside. They'll probably want $20... if it makes it to PC I'd probably buy it.
  13. 5 episodes in Netflix needs to get rid of the 'Next episode synopsis' before skipping to the next episode, especially for first run. First world problems am I right?
  14. I'm watching some Iron Fist... critics panned this series pretty hard, and I'm not sure why quite yet. It's got my attention with some cool camera shots, and the action is smooth and looks good on screen so far. We'll see, but so far I dig it.
  15. Very interesting article! Ferguson does a great job of explaining the story the data is telling him.
  16. No, simply that the pick was apparently out of the blue when you consider who was available. Who here remembers being in MBB chat leading up to the Richards pick? When CGY took Lavoie we were all celebrating that we were going to get one of either Waud or Durant. Imagine our luck! I don't recall a lot of applause following the Richards pick. In fact, it was quite a WTF moment for many of us.
  17. I was going to write a measured response with links to statistics on reputable sites, but realized I would be wasting my time. Anything remotely critical I say will be interpreted as "omgz hes teh suck cuz he not star yet!" or some such nonsense. Detractors need to learn patience? A pro ball players average career is 3.3 years. Tell me precisely how long I have to wait before I'm allowed to have an opinion. What if he turns ino the next Clermont? Why stop there?!? What about the next Fantuz!?! More likely he's the next Mike DiCroce or Liam Mahoney. At this point, I'd settle for the next Jade Etienne or Jabari Arthur; at least he will have seen the field and caught some passes. I shouldn't have to add "I'm a Bomber fan and I'm hoping for the best" but I guess I have to if I don't want to get roasted or labelled a negatron. God forbid anyone call a spade a ******* shovel around here.
  18. It's true Durant isn't lighting it up or anything, and he doesn't even get to see the field all that often, but he does play on special teams and he does tend to catch balls that are thrown at him. 35 catches, 402 yards and a TD in 15 games throughout 2016. That's measurably more than Richards, the player we picked instead, has been able to do so far (I don't blame him for being injured). Sadly it's also more than Rory Kohlert, our top starting Canadian receiver in 2016 was able to muster (29 catches 239 yards 1 TD). We're talking about our lack of Canadian depth at WR, it's not odd that I would lament the missed opportunity. I sure hope nobodies nose is out of joint over a bit of mild criticism over the weakest spot on our offense. It's not like I'm burning a bomber flag over here.
  19. Sorry sorry, I mean 'appears to be but has not yet been proven to be a dud' over stud.
  20. I agree, and how we went with dud over stud I'll never fully understand.
  21. Exact same article Noeller linked and quoted ton back up the 'head case' claim. Two sides to the same coin there bud.
  22. And yet... "Arguably the lowest moment of Kyle Walters’ tenure as general manager of the Blue Bombers was the decision to select Regina receiver Addison Richards eleventh overall in the 2015 CFL draft over Simon Fraser’s Lemar Durant. Durant, later selected eighteenth overall by the Stampeders, has recorded 572 receiving yards and four touchdowns through two seasons in Calgary, by far the most of any receiver selected in the 2015 CFL draft. The Simon Fraser product also had a strong Grey Cup game, grabbing four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. Had the Stampeders won, Durant would have been the front-runner to be named the game’s Most Valuable Canadian. Richards, to date, may be the first receiver in CFL history who has recorded more career drops (2) than receptions (1). The Regina product has never started a game and does not play on special teams, meaning he often doesn’t see the field during games. For a league that allows teams to dress only 44 players, using a roster spot on a player who fails to reach the field is a serious competitive disadvantage."
  23. Lemar's uncle has one thing right... Durant's alleged attitude was just another possible explanation for his stock dropping prior to the draft that many adopted as fact. More likely than anything, it was the NFL that chased teams off because Durant was the WR with the best chance to make it - he was that good. CGY could afford to take a flyer, and were probably doing backflips when Durant fell to them. I'm no expert or anything, but I did go to elementary school with Joe Poplawski's kids, so you know, we're pretty tight and I know a great Canadian receiver when I see one
