  1. why do people even bring up the word conspiracy> There's no conspiracy at all, it's pretty ******* transparent, it's just various entities trying to protect their market share.

There are kinda 2 pictures here. There is the producers, and what they get for a barrel, then there is what the gas station charges. The 2 are only loosley connected and there sure seems to be some collusion amongst the retailers. That's what most people complain about. The lag from the drop in oil prices to the drop at the pump is not offset by how quickly pump prices move when the barrel price goes up.

  2. I wish for double digit gas prices.  It's still $1.17 here in the lower mainland, where there are extra taxes so drivers can pay for the Skytrain and buses they don't use.

We are in the same ballpark and don't have to pay for Skytrain or busses etc.

Of course, my commute is 5 minutes each way so it really doesn't hurt me that much.

  3. I am having a tough time going from the original xBox controller to the 360 controller. I keep trying to push buttons with my left thumb and throwing grenades in Mass Effect with the back button where it is is awkward.

Going to have to play KOTOR to see how confused my fingers get from the buttons being moved around.

I like the old xBox controller (or just got used to it). Don't really like the Wii controller and have not used anything else (no PS anything).

But I am really liking Mass Effect. Second run through.

    Guys, it's just a poll.

it's actually a metaphor for life!

Is it the "Answer to The Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything"?

You're completely wrong the correct answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything is..........42. And if you understand that, you will have to be put to death immediately.

Wow. So wrong. You don't get put to death. The entire universe collapses and is replace by seomthing even more inexplicable. But there are those who think this has already happened.

  5. That was the thing for me in buying a system. I wanted to find games that didn't need to be online and that I basically play by myself. Don't know any gamers in town to do a Halo or COD night with.

Mass Effect has me hooked now. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the first one and will play all 3 over the long, Bomberless winter nights. Picked up the xBox 360 for it.

I have no interest in online gaming, or getting my ass handed to me by a 10 yr old. I think the ME games are going to be replayable (I played KOTOR 1 & 2 dozens of times, at times just to try to get the Wookie to kill his friend). You make choices in these game to be good or evil, and the storyline is different.

Never could get into straight FPS games or even hockey/football games.

I agree to an extent. I don't think we should be as militarily active as the U.S. because for one thing it's very expensive and also because he don't have to. But relying on the U.S. means we have certain responsibilities and obligations to support them reasonably.

Reading a bit on this lately and it seems Australia is doing millitary mostly right. Seems a good model to follow. Not the biggest but they keep things modern.

  7. Word here is Reilly is pretty much done. They signed Goltz because Pat White is done too. Reilly 'may' be able to play in an emergency,Goltz was brought in no doubt for QB sneaks. As already mentioned, he's a big guy who at least did that one thing right. My bet - Nichols > or = to Joseph. Durant will play in the game before Reilly will, and Goltz will fumble the ball away allowing Sask to go to Calgary. :(

Just laughing at how wrong you were, but that's all hindsight.

Basically to sum this game up as someone on rf said, Edmonton didn't deserve to win,

What a load of crap. As an effective and dominant def. game from EDM one can reasonably expect. Rider braintrust including teflon Chamblin had no answer for it. EDM's missed FGs made it clsoer than it should of have been.

To say Edmonton deserved the win is a bit much. Missing the field goals wasn't the issue, not getting the ball in the endzone instead of needing field goals was. 4 points off 5 turnovers was pathetic. Reminded me of the Sask/Wpg Grey cup a few years back with both teams putting a dismal performance on the filed, just Sask was worse this time around.

  9. I was laughing so hard at the BC game my wife came to see if I was watching Monty Python. Glenn, and the whole BC offense, was comical. Shitty game from a football standpoint, but funny as hell.

Ecm/Sask was a shitty game as well.

But that kinda fits the season. Aside from the Bombers being awful, this was a crappy year football wise.

  10. Hope someone here can help.

I'm looking to get a new game system. Still playing the original xbox, but it's being flakey. Trouble is I only really like a few games and am stuck on what to move to.

About all I play on the xbox are KOTOR 1&2. But I play them a fair bit.

I've got an origianl Wii but don't really play it much.

Not really interested in online gaming as I don't play enough to not get my ass handed to me on a regular basis.

So wondering what is out there that is like KOTOR and what system I need to get to play it.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks.

I don't question Willy wanting to play. I'd be disappointed in him if he didn't. That's not enough IMHO. Do what's best for the team in the long run and that's getting Marve some real reps in a game situation.

This. We know Willy is #1 and coming back next year, so why play him in a meaningless game? Get Brohm some real game time to see if we want to open the wallet for him. Give Marve some real game time to see if we need to chase someone else during the off-season. Willy is already QB1. I just don't see the reason to play him. Nothing of real value will be learned at this point about him.
Brohm is done for the season with a broken thumb.

I knew that. But he doesn't show up as injured on the TSN list (I just put him in my fantasy thing cuz I am so far down the list I want to see how bad I can get).

If you knew that why did you recommend playing him this week?

    Cuz I forgot.

    Geez.

To me, one of the biggest things this year is that penalties were absolutely just killing offensive rhythms. And a lot of it was ticky tack stuff.

I think if you polled fans, not many of us would want to see big plays called back by silly ticky tack penalties.

I don't think I've thought this through enough to say it's the best idea, but I'd propose something like this - if there is an infraction on the play, unless the penalty being committed directly contributes to the result of the play, then I don't want to see it wipe out the play.

Best example I can give is that huge completion to Romby Bryant that was called back by a hands to the face penalty. What I'd ideally like to see happen there? Apply the penalty after the gain. It was illegal but it had no direct impact on the play itself. So if Romby scores there ... put the Bombers on the 10. The only caveat I'd put on this is that objectionable conduct (facemask, etc) penalties would wipe out plays entirely.

I've just seen too many big plays called back by stupid penalties that took place WAY away from the play. Nobody wants to see a 50 yard catch and run called back because there was offensive holding on the entirely opposite side of the field. Not with the way our referees throw flags. It was just painful this year.

That's giving way too much responsibility to officials who quite honestly are already overwhelmed. At what point does a penalty affect the result of the play or not (after yards gained provision already exists)? It's the slipperiest of slopes IMO and I don't think many coaches or GM's would go for it.

I was going to say that. Giving them more discretion to judge whether a penalty affected the play or not doesn't strike me as something they are not capable of doing. Call the penalties consistently and the players will learn where the line is. The issue this year seems to be the inconsistency of calls.
