  1. Yeah, not sure if blindside is the right word but Rios definitely wasn't ready for it.
  2. Rios has a great story too but I believe he's been hurt since Oliveira blindsided him. Lots of guys in camp this year that are easy to root for.
  3. Since it was about battles for open positions, Tait probably just has Simonise slotted as a back-up to Demski and/or Wolitarsky. Same reason he didn't mention Streveler when discussing the QB's.
  4. It was what I expected,TBH. The Bombers were sure to point out, in their email, that they didn't set the prices: "Ticket prices, which are determined by On Ice Entertainment, range from $75.00 to $375 CDN."
  5. Pricing is out and it ranges from $75 (upper deck corners) to $375 (Pinnacle Club).
  6. Why? He's hasn't practiced in over a week due to injury so there's no way thy'd put him in a meaningless pre-season game.
  7. He was the 5th ranked OL in his draft year... just because he didn't pan out, it doesn't mean it was a bad pick.
  8. That was what I was wondering. I read an interview he did in Feb where he said he wasn't in a rush to make a decisions but that he would be ready to go in May. Well it's June now and he still hasn't signed so what's the hold-up? https://www.therecord.com/sports-story/9175096-cfl-players-have-high-hopes-for-kitchener-football-camp/
  9. Not necessarily. Chris Ackie is still out there as a free agent and he's said all 9 teams have been in contact with him.
  10. Lolly also said that the 1st pre-season game was the least you would see them blitz all year (and they still did quite a bit in that game) so its not as if this was going to be a surprise for the Bombers.
  11. I dont think the Riders were informed of this because they certainly didn't show up to play!
  12. Maybe, maybe not. It didn't seem to matter though. To get that kind of number without TV says there is an audience there. If they can build their brand and establish some of the more unknown guys as stars, they will be just fine.
  13. 98k is the early estimate from Meltzer: “Double or Nothing is currently estimated at doing roughly 98,000 buys between television and digital PPV, with close to a 50/50 split between the two,”
  14. Man-made hills... usually found in the driveways of their kickers.
  15. St Boniface Hospital is run by the Catholic Healthcare Corporation of Manitoba, not the WRHA. They usually go along with what the province wants but not always (see MAID) so it's a bit complicated. The Grace Hospital used to be in a similar situation until about 10 years ago (the Salvation Army transferred ownership to the WRHA in 2008).
  16. That assumes that all positions impact client care. I was speaking from personal experience where I once had a job within the WRHA where I reported to 3 managers and a supervisor (that does not include upper management) which, to me, was overkill . It was incredibly inconsistent and frustrating to get stuff dealt with as the buck would get passed between the group so you never knew who was dealing with what issue. Getting a simple answer was next to i My old co-workers tell me it's down to one manager now and things are running much more efficiently. It was a non-clinical department so there was no impact to client care either way.
  17. CB4 makes sense because the stuff with Stafford makes him look like a clown but he did grow up in Compton and I don't think that mentality has ever fully left him. http://www.calgaryherald.com/sports/hall+esks+hervey+candidly+relives+struggles+escaping+gang+plagued+compton/8850914/story.html
  18. Just keeping it real since he is:
  19. Could have happened to Jake last year too when he wasn't re-signed in the off-season but that was a risk they were willing to take.
  20. If he doesn't make the club out of camp, it wouldn't be much different than last year when he wasn't re-signed in the office season. The club will tell him to keep his phone on & stay in shape so they can bring him back if needed.
  21. Maybe if this was the 1st time Hervey snubbed someone it could be written off as a joke but it's not. It's just typical behavior from him.
  22. At the management level, absolutely! But that wasn't the point... the fact remains that the PC government has and continues to make cuts where you said they weren't.
  23. The guy who says not a single person has been laid off is accusing someone else of making stuff up? I guess the 132 people (or vacant positions) that the WRHA got rid of in a single day doesn't count? https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/severance-wrha-1.4151130
  24. Yep, he hit a 50+ yard fg last week and got a big cheer. Haven't heard anything else about him since though.
