  1. Not to mention that both ended the season on injured reserve. Sometimes those players get squeezed out due to the number crunch when they get healthy again. Especially fringe players like Bilukidi. I'd be shocked to see either one here next year, and if we do it won't be until mid-season... and that is only if Bilukidi gets cut before the NFL season begins. If he gets cut mid-season I believe he will wait until at least 2016 to see if more offers come in.
  2. I've had enough of Kane. I don't know what caused the healthy scratch but I have enough faith in Paul Maurice to believe Kane probably deserved it. But forget the off-ice stuff. Our premier, 6 million dollar sniper is on pace for yet another sub-20 goal season. That will be 5 out of 6 seasons in the NHL now. What are we paying this guy for??
  3. I don't see any pending free agent NI OGs who would be significant upgrades over Greaves/Neufeld/Goossen. Wojt or Eppele could potentially be major upgrades but there are injury concerns. Of course there are injury concerns with Neufeld as well.
  4. "...no, I mean they're BIIIIG...I mean, I look at them and go 'oh you've really let yourself go'..." One of my all-time favorite stand-up acts of all time! Best....RIP... Trying to place that quote and it's bothering me now. Is it the big fat guy who was getting mugged on the Seinfeld finale?
  5. They were not playing overly great prior to the All Star break. I know people are embracing the "it was the break" narrative but you could sort of see a tumble coming. They were winning, so it was easy to overlook. But its not just the break. That's true, I agree.
  6. Thank you. This helped me figure it out and I was able to download the updates and roster. Ran off a 5-0 record as the Jets to start the season even though Hutch seemingly sucks in this game. Seems to me the quality of goalies in NHL 15 is entirely based off size. The biggest goalies are the best ones.
  7. There could still be some good Canadian OL pickups available but they all have pretty big question marks. Joe Eppele: Speculation he might retire. But a starting guard for sure when healthy. Pascal Baillargeon: He was a highly-touted OL prospect but got injured at E-Camp. Bounced around between Hamilton and Montreal and possibly still dealing with injury issues. But if he is healthy... I believe he would still be a good prospect. Not sure if he has ever got any real playing time in the CFL yet. Dan Clark: He has started several games for the Riders at both center and guard, but has mostly been a backup. I think last season was his best in terms of playing-time, but maybe a Rider fan would correct me on that. Greg Wojt: Former divisional all-star. Missed 16 games last year with a shoulder injury. May or may not be healed. Alex Krausnick-Groh: He was a third round pick a few years ago and has mostly been a backup since then. I think he can long-snap as well. Gord Hinse: We already know this guy. Doesn't look like he'll be back.
  8. Crazy what a 4 day all star break can do to a season. Completely off the rails now. Fortunately we are probably at the end of the losing streak... I mean it can't go on forever.... right?
  9. "Here, take our junk for the guy you picked first overall a couple years ago."
  10. I'm sure he would consider any deal, but who is willing to give up starting OL right now, even for a high pick? Nobody has a surplus.
  11. Not necessarily. Toronto may still be in on Rogers and Calgary may still be in on Bryant. Not to mention that BC will be in the hunt along with Saskatchewan who will be trying to replace Heenan. Might even be some competition from Ottawa as well. Nothing is a given.
  12. He's a tackle (has played both left and right side). He's been with them since 2010 but has seen less and less playing time due to injuries, the emergence of Stanley Bryant and the Stamps picking up Dan Federkeil. Still a good OL though. Harrison would be plan D for FA OL. A member of the Calgary media speculated a while back that the Stamps would re-sign one of Harrison or Bryant, but not both.
  13. He's a tackle (has played both left and right side). He's been with them since 2010 but has seen less and less playing time due to injuries, the emergence of Stanley Bryant and the Stamps picking up Dan Federkeil. Still a good OL though.
  14. TUP, I don't know if you're seeing the same problem I was with editing lines, but things get really hairy when you have a guy playing on two lines. I moved Byfuglien to defence before taking him off forward and then it became IMPOSSIBLE to remove him from the forward line without removing him from the lineup altogether. It was so frustrating. I actually had to exit out of GM mode and come back in and start over with editing my lines. You can manually update to the latest roster in one of the menus but I can't remember which. I'd have to look when I'm at home.
  15. That really was a great game
  16. Close game but Seattle wins. Just can't see them losing.
  17. mbrg always gets so catty on Fridays
  18. Four year extension for Dressler. That contract's got to be worth close to a million bucks. Riders have a whole lot of money tied up in their receiving corps right now....
  19. lol well done. Perfect. That's part of his schtick though.
  20. The Bombers get their fair share of air-time on 1290. I actually learned of the Cory Watson trade while listening to 1290. Don't get me wrong, there is a ton of Jets talk. But during Bomber season, the talk is dominated by the Bombers. There is still Jets talk when significant events happen, such as free agency and the draft, but the Bombers get a lot of play. As for Jim Rome, I'm a fan. He is good for American sports talk. You aren't getting good college sports conversation from the local guys, but Jim Rome touches on that, as well as the NFL, NBA, and MLB. It is a nice change of pace from the CFL/NHL talk that usually dominates. Yeah he talks about himself a lot but you have to understand he is a sports icon in the U.S., with millions of followers. At this point Jim Rome isn't just some radio guy, he's a brand unto himself. But I understand how he can rub some people the wrong way because he can be pretty obnoxious. Another great show on 1290 is the Business of Sports, where various agents or executives are interviewed and you get some really good "behind the scenes" stories. Not sure when it airs.
  21. Booooooooooooo
  22. Mostly correct. However you don't have to sign up, you can edit entries and it will just record your IP address (and anyone can see this IP address once you have edited, so it's a good idea to just sign up if you want to edit stuff, it will just show your username). There is no approval process. But if someone finds you added a really bad edit, your IP will get banned and you won't be able to edit anything anymore. Any CFL stuff you find on Wikipedia has more than likely been edited by someone who also posts on boards like these. Wikipedia editors are generally just the "super-fans" of any subject matter.
  23. I heard "Pretty Woman" this morning so they are reaching way back
  24. Well I mean there is really no other way to look at it. Saskatchewan has been a winning organization, the Bombers haven't. Can't really argue with that.
