  1. Listening to both the coach and GM all offseason it sounded to me like Mack was willing to move on but Burke wanted Pierce. Consider what Burke said on the post game show... he flat out admitted that pierce was bad at hitting his targets and making reads... but said he never considered pulling him. Now tell me that it's not Burke that is PIerces biggest supporter. That's the frustrating part. Burke will cut the very popular Hefney when he sees his game slipping but he refuses to make a move at qb.

Is it that or just a total lack of faith in the backups? Probably a bit of both...

Hefney got cut b/c Burke believed in the talent behind him and felt comfortable he could be replaced. As much as some believe Burke is just playing favourites, the even worse option is that the coaching staff knows qbs # 2 & 3 are worse.

  2. until teams figure out their blitz packages. They're not really getting pressure from just the line, they're having to send extra people, once teams recognize where the soft spot is they'll exploit it more.

This is like their D from the Don Matthews days. They brought the house nearly every single down. I remember a game in Winnipeg where they got something stupid like a dozen sacks on us.

It's certainly a benefit having a front 4 that can get pressure on its own.

  3. What is going to happen if you just don't pay the invoice?  At this point they are sending you merchandise you didn't order.  Even if they go to a credit agency (I don't know if they will, seeing as how they are a scam), I'm pretty sure you could argue that.  It might be less of a hassle then to keep messing around with them.

If you stop paying, they should stop sending you things.

Some of those collection agencies are brutal. They don't care what the issue is, they just want the money. They'll harrass you at home and work.

The best advice is to never accept an offer over the phone from a company you've never heard of before, but I assume you're not interested in that advice right now.

How are they sending you this stuff? Is it just general mail, or is it something that can be traced?

  4. I was watching the comedy of errors in the first quarter.  This team still makes way too many mistakes.  Will Ford just completely whiffs on a block, Hebert just walks around him, and nails Buck, right before he's about to find a wide open Jade Etienne.

Yeah, I'm worried about the blocking from our rb's. I thought Simpson was supposed to be a good blocker, but I didn't see that last night.

  5. yeah.  Having Kyries Hebert as your SAM would scare me too.

Hebert will be a wil, Cox is their sam. Even still, Hebert sucked at that position when he was with us. Hopefully getting older hasn't changed that. Another thing we need to exploit is a rookie at safety.

The Als D doesn't scare me. I think we can put some points up tomorrow night..

  6. I saw the play. I watched the game. With all due respect, Reilly chucked it as hard as he could. It was more of a lucky throw than a good one. No way Reilly's THAT GOOD to be able to thread the needle 50 yards downfield under pressure when he threw the fooball without a lot of luck. If he was, he'd be a starting NFL qb going to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Things worked out on that particular play for Reilly & Koch. Later, on an easier throw Reilly waited a second too long & had the pass picked off in the end zone. Likie I said, it all came together for Reilly & Koch on the long td play.

Yes, it did just happen to come together for them. That's what makes your statement about Koch making the entire play work and Reilly owing him dinner so odd.

  7. There are a handful of guys/positions I'm most interested in.

Markett, obviously, b/c it sounds like he's in the lead position for a di spot. The guys at de are all fighting for the second di on defence. Frazier probably goes to the pr., if he makes the team, b/c we'll already have 4 DT's on the 42.

Whichever extra will lb we keep may have a chance at the 46. My guess is Wendel Brown.

There hasn't been much talk about the 3rd import RT fighting for that spot. I'd like to know how he's doing, & if he has a legitimate shot at a job with the team.

Of course the NI's too. Pencer & Etienne are the two obvious ones I hope do well.

  8. basically if the team fails it's because we've had two duds of a coach.. which would be a shame but pretty obvious that while Mack is fantastic at finding players his coacing decisions would have been poor and an insurmountable obstacle necessitating a change at the top.

I'm pretty sure you'd take a bullet for Mack if necessary.

If our qb situation falls apart again this season there's no way he can avoid responsibility for it.
