Come on, quit making dumb excuses for the guy. Burke hid in his office for days afraid to come out. He just canned LaPo & then the team stunk the joint out. He had no desire to talk to anyone. The team made him face the fans & media. Seriously man, this wasn't even a year ago. Quit trying to twist things around. It's always easier to face the music when you win. In Mack's case, July to September 2011 was the only time he won. Or do you conveniently forget that, too?
What excuse did I make? What am I twisting around? The example you gave is one where he gave an interview within a week of the game. If you don't like the reality of that give a better example.
Is it true or false that he didn't do many interviews in our Grey Cup season either?

Personally I wouldn't have fired either Berry or LaPo. I often wonder how things would have turned out had we not canned either so quickly.
Agreed. I thought both were canned too soon. Berry should have been given 1 more season and Lapo should have gotten at least until the end of the year.

obviously, especially when you consider how many roles he had to do bad things in. The most disgraceful thing he did was how he treated the quarterbacks. He drove the bus completely over Lefors, then he gave everyone else one chance to sink or swim or they were gone. Just disgusting way to treat players.
What he did to Lefors with the paycut was the final straw for me with him. That was garbage.

I recall after the 52-0 loss in Regina last year or whatever the damned score was after he fired LaPo. He refused to talk to the media from the day of the game Sunday to the following Thursday. Yeah, he turtles. He runs. He just makes things worse.
So he had a press conference before the next game was played? Sounds reasonable.
So you don't recall him doing more interviews when we were good compared to now?

Everytime there's a problem the guy turtles & runs. That seems to be his answer.

you aren't understanding that you can hire your man on the sly (either officially or not) and announce him later... but in the meantime you pursue your best interests under his arms-length supervision.
Do you have an example of this from the CFL? I'm not sure what you mean by hiring our guy on the sly.

because he is Mack's superior. and if Mack gets canned... Garth will be the guy to pink-slip him. obvs.
So then if/when Buchko cans him he should come out and talk about it.
I agree with the other poster who said he should only be talking about business issues during the season. The onfield product should be up to Mack & Burke to defend.

I thought the passing play that was called from the shadow of their own goaline on the last play of a half was the worst play call I'd ever see, but this could be a real challenger for that title.
Congrats to the Esks' coaching staff for continually raising the bar.

Me neither. If they really want Ford on for ko's they can leave Frazier off the 42 for Lucas and we could dress both of them.

I'll take 4 or 5 lesser drives than the one big drive.
Short drives that end with interceptions are what I want from my qb too.

Burke apologized to West and said he shouldn't have made him the villian. He said Watson shouldn't have stiff armed him either.

I hear you, but that's all correctable. Joey had some real drive, he could move the ball, and showed confidence in the way he played (for better or for worse). He didn't throw a tight spiral every time, he didn't spot every open receiver, and he wasn't speedy... but **** me if he didn't get first downs when we needed them.
You forgot to mention his moxy.

Wally Buono has had by far the most success finding qbs who can play in this league and he found a spot on his roster for Elliott. He also recognized that sticking with Pierce is a mistake as well. I'll take his opinion on qbs thanks. He think Elliott is worth a roster spot that says more than what any other GM thinks.

It would say our qb situation is/was a mess. Neither one of those guys is/was the answer.

Defense takes priority over the Offense at this stage of the game. Rory Kohlert is decent enough to start anyways.
Let him start. We should still have a backup. Besides, is Frazier really that much better than Lucas that it's worth leaving a position w/o a backup?

Why wouldn't we dress another import receiver for this game? I just read Penton's blog & he said we're only dressing 5 receivers. That doesn't seem like a very good idea to me. Put Lucas in instead of Frazier and have Wallace Miles replace Watson.

I read a tweet that said West pushed him out of bounds on the last play of practice and he ran into a camerman. Knuckles tweeted that Burke was pissed at West after the play.

Burke is just looking for any and every excuse that exists that doesn't involve blaming Buck, he doesn't want to admit how badly he screwed up this off season.
Burke said, and I quote, "it would be nice if we could hit an open receiver." That sounds like Buck is involved in that criticism.

That's been huge for this site. There's not really anybody here that I would put in the category of troll, which can't be said about the other two sites. OB is much worse for that than the EP is, but they both have them.
And yes, the latest update at OB sucks.
