I'd love to see them get in ahead of the Bruins. The trade isn't the end of the world for them in turns of giving up too many picks, it's just more than I would have given. It's not like they don't have any youth in their system. Hopefully it works out for them.

What a haul Too much for him at this stage of his career.

You think they keep all of them around? Unless Grigsby got some balls surgically added in the offseason he's not as good as the other two guys. Call me over sensitive but really beginning to think you don't like Grigsby. He gave us high hopes coming outta camp after.cottons injury... Then we realized he can't block, barely catch and is a lightweight when any contact happens... Any dislike is based upon his brutal season with us AND then blaming everyone but himself.. That's just incorrect... catching is one of the things he is good at... I believe there was even discussion around here about how effective is would be in the slot... His blocking was also very good. One of the factors sited by O'Shea for why he kept his job so long.

Flyers equipment guy says there's no truth to the poster story.

I like this deal. We have so many good prospects that a 3rd and 5/6 aren't a big deal. I like him as a player more than Bergenheim, and what we paid is a better deal than it took to get Winnik. He's a decent two way player, but is a little soft. Hopefully the intensity of a playoff push will be inspiring to him.
-
Agreed. It pains me to say this, but I think Grigsby will have a decent season for you guys. He looked good at times for you guys last season.

Lawless says the Leafs are asking for Burmi & a 2nd for Winnik. I wouldn't even respond. Hang up the phone and walk away.

Delete post: I don't really care anymore. Certainly not enough to invent scouting reports from our asst. GM for drafts held several years ago.

Broke something in his fight, I presume...

Just saw a tweet that Tyler Holmes got $225k from the Argos. The Redblacks are paying Ellingson an average of $158k per year.

They've got four regular dmen out with injuries. They don't have much choice. -

Whomever they get in the draft between Eichel or McDavid will be the guy the team is built around and get the treatment you're describing. Kane will be #2 on that team to a rookie and will probably be shipped out again if he can't get along with their new superstar. -
You're assuming the Riders could have kept Hurl. You can't force a player to re-sign and you can't assume the Riders "let him walk" either. It's certainly a possibility that Hurl told the Riders to sod off so he could try to follow Richie Hall here. Exactly. You can't "elect" to keep a pending free agent. From what I've read they did make an offer in an attempt to keep him.

Game 61 : Jets @ Maple Leafs
sweep the leg replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
We're getting the goaltending now that I think a lot of people expected would happen for the entire season. Hutchinson has regressed and Pavelec is Pavelec. It seems like we're giving up at least one bad goal a game lately, and that will sink most teams, not just us. -
Now your bias is shining through. Lots of the players on this team were brought in by Joe Mack. This regime has a lot of ground to make up to even come close to the level of recruiting Mack did. You hate Mack though so I just expect you to downplay the things he did do welll. . I don't see in his post where he said Mack didn't recruit some good players. "Lots" is a subjective word. I count 12 guys on the roster that predate Walters taking over.

Taylor Swift the queen of country music
sweep the leg replied to Jasper1366's topic in General Discussion
I wondered about the OP. Ask a question about Taylor Swift on a football forum and then disappear... -
Burmi can't play in the NHL this season and there doesn't seem to be much hope that he will ever play in Winnipeg again. He is a pending RFA so they should just move him and get an asset back because he isn't going to sign here. He's already an RFA. That's why he was able to leave for Russia.

Elimimian, Wild, McCoil, Reed...

I liked Lowry's game last night. That was about it.

Jagr can't skate anymore, He might be able to help our pp, but that's it. I'd pass.
-
Yes, a mildly amusing headline would be the best thing about extending his contract.
-
not nearly as much as you're overvaluing him. 0% we could get Vermette for him.For that return, the Coyotes would be better off keeping him and using the next few months to work on an extension.

We ran a 1990 style offense that season and used a fb most of the time. That helped keep the sack numbers down. I think Morley's best season as a Bomber was last year.

Evander Kane & Bogo Traded to Buffalo

There's a few guys who made their names that way - they'd sleep-walk through the season and then wake up in the playoffs. Claude was the best of them. John Druce was another. Bryan Bickell seems to be also heading that way, he seems to get more points in the playoffs then he does during the season. That could also be a function of ice time and power play time as well.No really fair to compare Lemieux to Druce. He only had one good playoff and he was an irrelevant player otherwise. Lemieux was always a pretty good player.Justin williams is a good current comparison. -
Walters looked like he has cornrows.
