Yep Brown would be in the same situation - however has the mobility to get out of those situations or could be more effective if the team were to utilize a moving pocket to reduce the effectiveness of a pass rush. I won't chirp Zach (even if the line wasn't an issue) - Two Grey Cups after the drought we had, but given his age and Brown's age, plus the promise Brown showed at various points, Brown should have been kept, even if it meant letting Zach go in the off-season.

Yep. Last night sucked. Worried? Not particularly. As last night was drawing to a close I kept thinking of last season's home game in July against BC. Took it on the chin pretty good that night, didn't we? We have a veteran team, the best coaching staff in the league. They turned it around after that game, and they'll turn it around after this one. Looking forward to next week against Ottawa. Get the boys on the road, away from the noise and get the freight train back on track.

Agreed - thought in the second half of the season in particular he played gradually better football.

Hodge reports that Michael Chris-Ike is Winnipeg bound in a couple days after his workout with the Saints didn't result in a contract.

Terrible loss for the family with such young ones involved. Always seemed like such a stand-up guy. Sad that we have already lost someone that was a part of our championship family.

Good on Wade. He likes wins and full stadiums and stepped up when needed. Also, 250K in Vancouver doesn't get you nearly as much as 230K in Winnipeg given the cost of living - and I'm sure Brady will have sponsorship opportunities in the city as well to bridge that gap a bit.

Just because it hasn't been mentioned yet, I think it's also noteworthy what BO provides in pass protection. Whether he's in to block the whole time, or chips the end/edge rusher then sneaks out for a check down in the flats, Brady is the best in pass protection too which is a criminally under-appreciated part of the game as it relates to the position. Of course I make my most recent post and see this mentioning his blocking lol.

No issue with the money at all. Counts for the ratio, best at his position by far. Players of his talent coupled with the passport do not grow on trees. Over the last 20 years, we're talking Jon Cornish and Andrew Harris. End of list. Worth every penny.

IF it comes down to losing Schoen to keep Brady, I am 110% okay with that. Ignoring being from Winnipeg - We're talking about the best player at his position AND counting as a National, AND handling the ball typically 15-20 times a game, occasionally sometimes more. As the weather turns, running the ball gets increasingly important, while Schoen, is at a position where we already have great talent, is usually the easiest position to find new, American talent, and only handles the ball a few times a game. Don't get me wrong - I love Schoen. He's a gritty SOB and among the best at his position too...but given the above, if forced to choose (and hopefully we don't have to), I'm keeping Brady every day of the week and twice on Sundays. It's not particularly close for me whatsoever.

All the more reason to keep running running the ball - which BC can't stop. Even if they win in the semi, good luck winning outdoors in November against the best running team in the league.
